A healthy body, a sound mind
nor ‘disruption’ nor ‘corruption’
these twins can overturn
A society that educates to these
creation and Creator will please
A candle burns deep, in core of every soul,
A sacred flame, an ethereal halo of intellect,
A guide heavenly, a mystique that educates,
Defying overtures of egotism and pettiness,
A beacon of wisdom beaming rays eternal
On passage to liberty that was always there
Yet, elusive to arrogance and ignorance,
Mired in obscurities and misguided fallacies.
Soul never rests, sailing vast oceans of life,
Whether upon apex or troughs of tides
Vying shores spiritual, buoying endearment,
Inviting apathy and hubris to temple of solace
Delivering words of sermon compassionate,
Teaching of awakening and enlightenment,
Liberating from beliefs narrowly defined
Toward empathy, enriching hearts, and minds,
Transcending to rebirth of happiness divine,
In harmony with salvation, an epic realization,
An epiphany heard through angelic citations
Emanating from influences beyond transitory,
Forever missives of attainment and peace,
Embracing serenity of solitude, clarity of being,
Achieving bliss of cohesion and congruity,
Set free beyond bounds of mundane, ordinary,
Attaining divinity in realm of humanity.
Mother is just a simple word,
that often in the home is heard.
A noun, a person young or old,
a verb which many roles enfold.
Ordained by God, children to birth,
And populate the virgin earth.
To nurture them with tender care,
an instrument His love to share.
The one who holds a nation’s reins,
she educates her children’s brains.
When mother fails to play her role,
the whole society pays the toll.
Instead of demeaning her role
Let’s lift up Mother on a pole.
When governments usurp her place
What baleful woes societies face.
Let’s celebrate this Mother’s Day
not in the usual kind of way.
Resolve to preserve mother’s role,
So, society can remain whole.

still
he educates
i don’t learn
anything
except
to listen
to love
to hear
his heartbeat
to joy
always
there’s olives
in his glass
i can hear
the daily
missives
of his martini
speaking
in gentle
low tones
even
his feistiness
is controlled
grief
brought us
together
his goblet
of tears
his plea
“Tell me
she’s somewhere…”
two butterflies
their wing-sets
flapping
as he retrieved
his mail
broken glass
like a
broken heart
on his birthday
their birthdays
a solid shelf
fell

Her luscious lips tend several functions;
a tender paradise to lay yours on,
A salve to your heart's aches,
A wily weapon for taking her stand,
As well a purveyor of her mind's many wisdoms.
Grateful winds carry forth her words.
Bursting forth ever so caringly,
from pink, perfect lips.
As her sublime sound caresses the air,
Peaceful perfection grips the atmosphere.
Her words, her cries, her songs,
In none lay any wrongs.
A voice ferociously tender, pervading all existence,
Breathing in life with faithful loving persistence.
The common word bleakly educates the brain,
her sounds sing serenely, not unlike the rain.
Nurturing my heart, curing its pain,
Gems born of air, nothing stays the same.
Social media can be a great thing
It helps us connect with our friends and distant family
It educates us on issues around the world
That we aren’t able to see first-hand
It can teach us useful things, and keeps us entertained…
At the same time social media can be awful
It disconnects us from our surroundings
It distorts the way that we see ourselves, and our bodies
It creates too high of expectations for many
It creates this false idea that materialistic things
Will provide us with the happiness that we’ve been longing for
Which is not the case
A WOMAN’S WORK
Sheets
On line
Daily drudge
Never ending
A woman’s work is never done, they say
And now she educates her kids at home
Covid nineteen
Pandemic
So school’s
Closed

vulcan bombers simulate…
nature educates

Hold on your horses!
Did you just say that women can't?
Did I hear you say that they are inferior?
Or did you just call them household helpers?
Gone are the days when women did nothing,
Gone are them days when housewives was their career,
Gone is the era when their existence was to please men,
Gone is the slogan that women can do what men tell them to.
Women can make earth a better place even better,
Look what Joyce Banda did,a greatest leader of all times,
Take a look at Winnie Madkizela,a greatest force in Anti-Apartheid,
Look at what Ellen Johnson Sirleaf did, isn't it credit-worthy?
We need more Maya Angelous in poetry,
We need more Chimamandas in literary works,
We need more females who can think freely and talk their minds,
We need a generation where women's voices will be heard.
This will come to pass if only we embrace change,
This will only happen if we decolonize our minds from male chauvinism,
And this will begin from empowering our sisters,
For one that educates a girl educates a community.

The slave master is still taking care of your children
He still houses (Section 8) them
He still feeds (Food Stamp) them
He still has health care (Medicaid) for them
He still educates (Affirmative Action) them
He still robs (Cheap Labor) them
He still kills (Police Brutality) them
When are going to take care of your own children

Being with Jesus Christ*
...emboldens faith, deterring discouragements
...enlightens the unlearned, defying sin-obscurity
...educates the ignorance, displaying truth
...exposes God's marvels, demanding holiness
...elucidates Bible knowledge, detracting hypocrisy
...exclaims heavenly perception, directing toward scriptural pursuits
...enriches life, developing servant-leadership!
*Acts 4:13 "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus."

I wither away writhing with protest
As I toss the option to liquidate my hate
Paralyzed more often than just depressed
A language not meant to nimbly translate
As I toss the option to liquidate my hate
The richest pain begins to harvest
A language not meant to nimbly translate
While vile sadness rapes my inner sadist
The richest pain begins to harvest
Shrouded deeply in my darkest trait
While vile sadness rapes my inner sadist
Leaving it baron in its rawest state
Shrouded deeply in my darkest trait
Numbness freezes my flow of interest
Leaving it baron in its rawest state
Casual indifference is delivered unbiased
Numbness freezes my flow of interest
Prompting my defunct deflated gait
Casual indifference is delivered unbiased
When calloused logic educates the debate
Prompting my defunct deflated gait
Paralyzed more often than just depressed
When calloused logic educates the debate
I wither away writhing with protest

Television vomits privacies
nauseous they are to me
but fans, parents, money-makers
swallow them with no shame
Television show men delete men
boiled hearts they carry all the way
tricksters show mongoose-ness
society the chicken they snatch
Television narrates impossible tales
that humans are gods in action
Believe and try what you see
your heart and body bid you farewell
Television lies and hides that it educates
yet youth are fields for hay. I say nay
Valley was vast
View was the best
Sun was about to set
For prey, birds search to get
Breeze was pleasant
Passers were complacent
Boys bath at a pool
Crows fight like a fool
Sun became a lamp
Returning home were lamb
Distantly heard was melody
Thick forest was woody
Sun surges to set
Self was easy to forget
This thought, surely shall last
As I was lovingly lost!
