Premium Member Boy How She Loves To Bite

She is a flesh devouring fairy who feasts on children
who dont' wash their hands and primp their toes
Darkly inclined she lives in the shadows, once bitten
you will turn as evil as her extra long snubby nose

Her name is Darkelina and she snickers to herself
she owns spidery fingers and her teeth are razor sharp
Sponge em' down, disinfect, scour them clean or else
she will cleave your little pinkie and stitch it to her harp

Darkelina Pixie-Meana thats what they call her Heh !
better wash it or hide it before she finds you child
Gloomy and morose with a dark disposition, its her way
better tuck them under the covers, for she is crazy wild

Beyond the twitch of night she can give you such a fright
shes got teeth with jagged edges, boy how she loves to bite !

Cleaning House

We need to disinfect the WH before Trump arrives
Hunter Biden was in there smoking that white stuff
And who knows what else was going on in there

Within one's inner shrine
Being with the Divine
Humans attain fullness
Devoid of all illness...!
Spiritual powers
Like heavenly showers
Fall on human conscience
Destroying all non-sense...!
Like germs disinfect home
Like ever fertile loam
Illnesses far hidden
Immunity-ridden...
Human self into God
Merges lovingly awed
Turns into single whole
With body, mind and soul...!

Premium Member A Comic's Final Joke - During the Covid Pandemic

Written by Gail DeBole
On December 8, 2021
Updated on February 6, 2025

Before his fans entered the funeral’s door
They all read a sign that they couldn’t ignore.

The sign listed rules to be followed by his fans
Who had come to show respect for this funny man.

He wanted to make sure his mourners stayed safe.
To not follow these mandates would not help their fate.

Before they could enter to pay their respects
The first request was to all disinfect

By cleaning their hands with sanitizer provided
While social distancing six feet - they were all reminded.

Everyone had to show a card that proved
They were vaccinated at least times two.

They were all to wear masks to filter the air
In case Covid was in attendance there.

The comic - so funny while he was alive
Couldn’t resist entertaining even after he died.

Lying very still in a handsome blue suit
The comic exuded humor even though he was mute.

And as each person approached the casket to say a goodbye
Some laughed or you could see a smile in their eyes.

For the comic was lying there even in death
Wearing a face mask to not be a threat!

Premium Member Living With a Pandemic Lurking

The poem and poet merge on the page
And the cruel pandemic has its presence
Its nature strikes me with dark words of rage
Death teases humankind unpleasantly

Time's essence is so hard to understand
Mighty nature sweeps down on all nations
Disinfect your minds; sanitize your hands
Dare I make a bleak interpretation?

Masks adorn as they do at carnival
Protecting cute noses and speaking mouths
While the earth appears quite rechargeable
And the pandemic makes its way around

One day, the pandemic will go away
Who knows what nature wishes to convey?

Many people are not afraid to go
Back to work because they need to support
Hungry families with cute kids aglow
However, the pandemic risks to thwart

Dreams of those who invested their savings
Hoping to cash in on all of their work
For now people must resist their cravings
As savings disappear and the beast lurks

The weather, sunny as ever today
The countryside was a bright pleasure
Yet, the pandemic continued to play
Groups of nice youths could not get together

Cruel nature seemed different than before
As though it had a point to underscore

The City That Never Sleeps

I live in “the city that never sleeps”
But now I can attest
To the fact that for the first time
It’s been forced to take a rest.

The restaurants and corner stores
Are shuttered or, at best,
Allowing business to proceed
With hours quite repressed.

The famous subways always ran,
As you have likely guessed,
All day and night so no one’s
Travel had to be suppressed.

But now they’ll disinfect the trains
At City Hall’s request
From 1 – 5 a.m.; all those
Still on will face arrest.

Pandemics put the world on hold;
We’ve seen that manifest
Yet to see my city sleeping
Can’t help making me depressed.

Thy Covid Die

Thy Covid die
poem
Lionel Derbyshire

CORONA ..
Thy covid die
Conform yourself
With valid speed
Your unspoken life
Thy metamorphosis
Multiply no more
Our lives are
Not a test
Our lives are
In trust
Thy covid die
Your tragedy
We don't despair
We watch you
Wash away
Disinfect and
Desolate
Your hopeless ire
With delight
We cheer away.
Thy covid
Wash away ..
You hustle
The streets no more
You go away
We cultivate
And populate
In worship
And rejoice
Your end.
Thy birth
Is windswept
Your sting is
Masked
Your covid kingdom
Die !
You will not overtake
GOD's people.

Corona
Thy covid die
Thou will ever be
defeated.

Premium Member Nature: Twenty Twenty Hindsight

Stay home, don’t leave, don’t go anywhere,
Don’t go to visit your mates,
Stay away from every single person you know,
Stay out of their personal space,

And disinfect, and bleach, and cleanse your world,
Live like a hospital machine,
So you can reflect on the side of a wall,
Because it’s all shiny and clean,

And if you go out to buy, you know, food,
Strap a face mask to your head,
Don’t touch your eyes, nose, ears, mouth or cheek,
To avoid you becoming all dead,

By April 2020, in this the year of the virus,
The year countries joined in a fight,
That we didn’t see coming, though we knew it was there,
Using perfect 20-20 hindsight.

The New Normal

broadway is dark
stores are closed
social distancing
is imposed

stay locked inside
shelter in place
six feet away
don’t touch your face

disinfect your hands
wash your clothes
is that a sniffle?
elbow your nose

binge on Netflix
all day long
hold back tears
try to stay strong

watch the news
who’s to blame?
pointing fingers
calling names

missing the hugs
of family and friends
wondering how
this all may end

life has changed
you know it’s temporary
we must have faith
so very scary

our new normal
since covid 19
a viral pandemic
the world has never seen

Burning Sage

Burning Sage

I’m burning sage in our domain
to disinfect a lost refrain
a love that faltered in our past
a love I thought would alway last
my prideful mien to conquer thee
My lustful ways were not to be

for pride will go before the fall
reflecting I will wear a shawl
to comfort me as was your love
the burning essence will prevail
I praise you as the God above
a love of peace, a mourning dove

No One Lives Here

“Welcome to our home-
no one lives here”
I want to say
as I usher our guests
inside

My husband says
the best way
to know someone
is to visit their home
then proceeds to
scrub, disinfect, and remove
all traces of human life
from ours

He is normally tidy, so
he has created
a new definition of
'company clean'
beyond my understanding
empty, echoing
eerily clean
my rubber boots
relegated
to the trunk of my car
God forbid
anyone know
I still play in the mud!

In one way
it's kind of nice
Like visiting
someone else's house
without the hassle
of leaving mine...

But soon I'll miss
my clutter
wishing for the
comfortable chaos
of my creative processes
longing for
some evidence
of the most important
things to me
who I am
how I feel
what I do...

Sometimes I long
for someone to see
my mess
no unrealistic
expectations
just bare, exposed
human frailty
adorned with
a passion
for creative survival
whatever that looks like...

And if they're not
strong enough
to stomach that
I'll find new friends.

Love Is Drowning In a Sand Dune

"LOVE IS DROWNING IN A SAND DUNE"

her pussy cat was
dirty like the bottom
of a trashcan.
all four of us
tried to disinfect
her morals but
she chose to
collect her inadequacy
without a bag.
the pakistani tore
her pussy cat apart
and she promised
him it would stay
that way.
but she couldn't
stay inside one
store.
another pakistani's
register shined
brighter. she
lotion her body
and bought bags
of cocaine, all
four of us
knew we had
lost her. like
toenail clippings, she
threw her children
away and the
sunglasses over her
eyes in the
rain, got dirty
from the dust
that fell in
through the sun
roof. the dogs
wondered why the
humans had so
many problems if
they slept inside.
the roaches lost
weight as they
consumed the crumbs
fallen from the
herbalife bottles.
the decorated mugs
knew my hands would
never hold them
again and sat
angry that I
separated them from
their lover, the
coffee machine. as
the termites fled
from the home
they rejected, I
flapped my wings
like the hummingbird
and watched like
a cyclops as
the empire fell.

Premium Member Paying Attention To Safety

Here are a few safety tips that will help keep you & your family ssafe
When in doubt, throw it out: Throw out foods with danger-signaling odors. But be aware that most food poisoning bacteria are odorless, colorless and tasteless. Do not even waste a food that is suspect.

Use separate cutting boards for meat and poultry: Don’t use wooden cutting boards. Bacteria can live in the grooves. Sterilize cutting boards in the dishwasher. Consider buying separate colors for meat and fresh foods like veggis and bread.

Wash and disinfect sponges and towels regularly: Launder in a bleach solution.

Avoid cross-combination by washing all surfaces (including your hands) that have been in contact with raw meats, poultry or eggs.

Thaw meats or poultry in the refrigerator, not in the kitchen counter: If you must thaw foods quickly, use cool running water or the microwave

Do not put food on a plate that was used for raw meat or poultry: If you bring your raw steaks, chicken, or burgers to the grill on a platter, get a fresh platter for a final product

Mix foods with utensils, not your hands: Keep hands and utensils away from your mouth, nose and hair
