Love Is Drowning In a Sand Dune

"LOVE IS DROWNING IN A SAND DUNE"

her pussy cat was
dirty like the bottom
of a trashcan.
all four of us
tried to disinfect
her morals but
she chose to
collect her inadequacy
without a bag.
the pakistani tore
her pussy cat apart
and she promised
him it would stay
that way.
but she couldn't
stay inside one
store.
another pakistani's
register shined
brighter. she
lotion her body
and bought bags
of cocaine, all
four of us
knew we had
lost her. like
toenail clippings, she
threw her children
away and the
sunglasses over her
eyes in the
rain, got dirty
from the dust
that fell in
through the sun
roof. the dogs
wondered why the
humans had so
many problems if
they slept inside.
the roaches lost
weight as they
consumed the crumbs
fallen from the
herbalife bottles.
the decorated mugs
knew my hands would
never hold them
again and sat
angry that I
separated them from
their lover, the
coffee machine. as
the termites fled
from the home
they rejected, I
flapped my wings
like the hummingbird
and watched like
a cyclops as
the empire fell.
