Premium MemberAnniversary Call

I dialed your number and listened as it ring
I hoped you would finally answer the phone
You are the only person that felt like home
You can remove this feeling of being alone

I listened and the phone continued to ring
I knew you wouldn’t answer but I had to try
The last time we talked it ended with a fight
With a few clothes you left with no goodbye

I often play that night back in my mind
Each time I try I can’t convince you to stay
And each night it’s the same as it was then
You walking to your car and then driving away

It’s been months and nothing’s changed
It still hurts and I struggle to get through
Today would have been our anniversary
I only called to say sorry and I love you

Wallop When

Sear my heart, O rampant rage!
Simmer deep within!
Scour, devour this rusty cage!
What it takes to win...

As below, thus up above?
Not in this fair world.
Raptor hawk, guard well the dove?
Dead man's fingers curled...

Golden sparks to signal?
Attention that will get!
O prospectors, pill or pall?
Does it pay to fret?

No! Indeed not, my wild child!
Red run reconciled?
Crocodile in Nile beguiled?
Doubt and dismay dialed.

Tiled like floors in ancient tower?
Which architect planned?
Nightshade, is thy milk a-sour?
Blighted by the banned.

Is the ocean welling up?
Where the wound began?
Ark of Covenant, thy cup!
Revenant, how you ran!

Mutilation! Mutiny!
Murder in the streets!
Something lurking we can't see?
Have you seen the beats?

Reservations kept for six?
Bring thy crucifix.
Sullen heat out in the sticks?
Candles without wicks.

Fix it up, O soldiers!
We really must make do.
He who survives, first deters!
Ask the wallop hoo...

classy as a diamond ring
razzlng and dazzling throughout the night

strutting with pep
do nothing wrong
in this manure and goo
Sing’n with gusto into morning dew

Razzling and dazzling throughout the night

Premium MemberBoss Map Walt Marie

Sure as stars shined she stumbled.
Falling.

A fierce lightning rod flickering
wild sparks.

Put the appetite front and center.
Boss map.

Hard hands callused to the bone,
dialed in.

There’s nothing lucky about it.
She fought.

Be Still

Pause and pull over
To get funny wildflowers from their roots
Let your hair down and dance in the rain
With your butterfly-covered boots
Let your mind wander as you sleep
And get lost in the twinkling tent up above
Remember to laugh and roll the windows down
Being real and present with how you love
Sing out loud and be silly
Never say goodbye to your inner child
Pick up the phone and talk to those dear
Not living in the regret of wishing you had just dialed
Immerse yourself in the unknown
With the Lord by your side
Facing fears and embracing your failures
With confidence knowing you tried
Live moment by moment
Let your dreams soar on high
Learning to be still and at peace
Hearing the breath of your own sigh.

It Doesn't Matter

There's this girl
And there's this guy
Everything changed
When he said "hi."
She laughed.
He smiled.
His number
She dialed.

They talked all-day
All morning, all night
Her voice was cute
Her heart was bright.
Months have past
She must be the one
She said she loved me
Which hit like a ton.

One tragic day
I had been waken
She wasn't there
She had been taken.
Taken by,
Another man
My heart sank
Then I ran.

This is a fear
I have thought
But does it matter?
I have forgot.
It doesn't matter
For I am wrong
Because you're not here
Because you're gone.

Red Telephone Booth

An old gaunt lady
With feeble steps
Walked to the red telephone booth
On the roadside pavement
Every day she dialed a number
And spoke inaudibly into the receiver
As tears streamed down her crinkly face
This continued for an hour
Until she resigned for the day
Hoping for another heartfelt conversation
A baffling mystery unsettled us
Spectators to this daily drama.

Premium MemberHaunted House

We suspect the house is haunted by ghosts,
Who welcome guests to stay with them as hosts.
They love it when you come and play along,
To their creepy charade, and karaoke song.

The sound effects are dialed-up on cue,
To respond to whatever you may ensue.
Floorboards creak without footfalls.
A plate untouched, slips, topples and falls.

Whispers whistle in trees devoid of breeze.
Doors creak and bang shut with ease.
The clock ticks out of sync and slows,
As you watch it pulse in ebbs and flows.

You hear footsteps creeping up to you,
You look back to see the floor's askew.
The house is rocking from side to side,
It's the ghosts laughing, enjoying the joyride.

Premium MemberRandom Path To Freedom - Minichu

Tired, exhausted, with headache
I left my cares, foibles and troubles far behind.
Took a break.

In car I jumped.
Dialed random for 'peace of mind'.
All pumped,

To go
Free Ill-defined,
Faux.

Tired, exhausted, with headache,
In car I jumped
To go.

Premium MemberMiami Dade Police Aided Me

Miami Mall is rocking with aliens from star planets galore.
The worst thing is they are not buying anything from a store.
They are hypnotizing the salespeople and getting stuff free.
Items are leaving the mall faster than a grand prix shopping spree.

Someone who was watching what was happening averted his eyes.
He got on his phone and he dialed the Miami Dade policemen guys.
By the time they arrived the aliens had stolen billions of things.
Including several trays full of jewelry – emeralds and gold diamond rings.

The policemen came running in all confident, some in a huff.
They were hypnotized right away, and stopped acting so tough.
I decided to join the aliens and got myself a new blouse and chair.
Feeling pretty confident as I left with my loot, walking out into night air.

3 Dollar Bill

Dwelling on the past
You could have never known
You could have never seen this coming

Over-preparing for the future
I’ve never seen you prepare that much for anything

Over-thinking in a knife fight
is like running in a forest while it’s raining
Memorable,
but not what you wanted to happen next

In the midst of a tragedy,
in a second of memory,
I saw what hurt you most

Now I see
it was an inner conflict
and not a character flaw

But not everyone has an open mind
to see inside these things

In a moment of recollection,
a speck of time worth waiting for
I had your number dialed on the phone,
all I had to do was call

Now I see
it was an inner conflict
and not a character flaw

I’m sorry that it took so long

Waking up for one
Do people leave the house anymore?

Responding to your distress call,
I’m sorry that it took so long

Waking up for one
Do people talk to each other anymore?

A memory of pure ecstasy
A speck of time worth waiting for

A Less Than Tragic Love

It was years ago
a lonely year.
a more clunky and mechanical age,
a dial-up decade.

He sent out needy signals.
Eventually a divorced lady from
Doncaster responded.

Sensual seeds were planted.
E-mails were exchanged
together with photographs
taken years earlier.

One day, not long after
a mutual disappointment
fizzed between them
like a dying fly.

Together they dialed-out.

Premium MemberAt the Third Stroke

"At the Third Stroke.
It will be four, four, and 40 seconds, precisely."
"At the Third Stroke.
It will be four, four, and 55 seconds, precisely."
Old timers like me can remember
when time was voiced on the telephone when you dialed '1984'.
To get the 'Speaking Clock'!
or were told the time in tolls of local church bells.
or the number of gongs of town hall clocks like 'Big Ben',
chimes on the hour, half or quarter.
When you could ring up on 'me old telephone' at
some ungodly hour in day or night,
and hear the recorded time precisely there and then.
When your grandfather's job
was to chime the time in the hall.
When God told you the time
with church bell gongs and rings.
Can you remember when you lost track of the
time, when you lost track of the count of number
of the chimes or of tolls of bells?
Less important perhaps
at midnight than midday,
but this had you reaching
for the 'Bakelite'
black telephone to
hear the time precisely,
"At the third stroke".
Or you could wait for the 'pips' on the hour,
the six short sounds on the radio,
still going strong after 90 long years.
pip, pip, pip, pip, pip, pip!
There 'tis some ungodly hour precisely!

Premium MemberDeath of a Love Affair

they lost the gale-force wind
keeping their affair passionately aglow.
            it struggled for existence
with the white-hot heat dialed down
to low; like a candle's moribund flame,
it flickered, and soon dimmed out.

A Cosmology

It was a younger time,
a clunky age
a dial-up decade.

Not knowing why
or why he should not,
he sent out needy signals
into the vast unseen
seeking worlds
populated with only females.

Many were drawn into his orbit
many failed to respond.

Eventually a divorced lady from
the fabled city of Doncaster
seemed willing
to be drawn into his net.

Sensual seeds were planted
in a garden they both watered.

It was love; it was true.

By an enveloped voyaging
they exchanged
photographs taken years earlier.

For hours, a muted
disappointment fizzed and spun
around a digital cosmos;

both grew distant,
together they dialed-out,
sending new rockets of desire

unto more invisible
yet detectable applicants.
