From This Day On
VS. 1
I have seen many mornings
Through my own eyes
The seasons change before me
Winters snows follow summer rains
VS. 2
Ev'ry path that I've chosen
Has been my own decision
But somewhere in the evening light
I have prayed for a miracle
Someone to share my life with.
Chorus
From this day on, my heart will beat with your heart
From this day forward, your life will be my very breath
From this moment on I chose to take a chance upon tomorrow with you
From this moment on our lives shall be as one.
VS 3
I am called from my fam'ly
You from your home
We are called to be one now
One in mind, one in body and soul
VS 4
And we ask our God's blessing
Upon our life together
The keeper of our wedding vows
Stays with us ev'ry day of our lives
BRIDGE
Wherever you travel
Wherever you roam
I will stay with you
For I am at home.

One life,
one tiny light to shine in our allotted hour
a single strutting chance upon the stage
a single line writ large upon the page,
a chance to love, to live, to give
and what is more,
one entrance and one exit, no encore

there’s a lady dressed in rags and robes
she’s slowly skulking by the stones
of names and dates and faded mark
as mist and crows guide through the dark
she’s looking for her grave
a single bell helps set her tread
a steady toll of calling dread
beckoning eyes that chance upon
this ageless figure’s soul now gone
she’s looking for her grave
her mouth it holds a large round stone
that forced a blooded fractured bone
and shattered teeth and stayed her tongue
to threaten not those she’ll rise among
she’s looking for her grave
a witch they called her when alive
who’s words and spells brought all a strife
as village folk by stone they saw
to end her knives of blackened scorn
as each moon she leaves her grave

sometimes
misconstrued
in a fluorescent grove
where malachite petals
marry emerald blades
verbose biting chews
too close to the cheek
among a confetti of bees
amid undulating bumps
of raw superfluous air
interdimensional entities
of spectral occurrence
wave with graphic-less suave
to gurgles, to coos, to hehs
seek noodle communication
to a bouncing mistaken few
using the eyebrow medium
of coincidence
a babbling infrasonic tool
of curious happening
sometimes
misunderstood
exhume, with heed
supressed benevolence
they fly shapelessly
in quartered skies
aloof in mocking flight
frilly, frothy entities
divebombing ghettos
exacting urban sprawl
chance upon neonates
and families out picnicking
feeding babies whose
knowing smiles to air
see, or do they?
– beware

When I chance upon a lone squirrel
The vibe hardly approaches a thrill
You think he's cute, waving his bushy tail
Congratulations! Here's your rodent for sale

O my feisty little cloud
From places afar you sail
Along the leeway
With gaiety so profound!
I treasure a hidden desire
To share my thoughts with you
Could you stop by for a moment
Give me a minute or two
With all the silver linings
You sail over mountains and seas
Did you chance upon a special someone
Who could be tucking a note for me
I've seen the sweetest of messages
On the soft petals of flowers
And in the wobbling shiny dew drops
Over the lush green blades of grass
I've heard the blowing wind whisper
To the the forests and hills around
Soulful tunes of melody
Where pleasures of my heart can be found
O my pretty cloud do tell me
Tell me with all your glee
Could I be meeting that special someone ,
In the valley of eternity!

It’s so odd,
how time expands and collapses.
In doing so,
it scatters the timeline shimmering across the sky.
It left me crumpled,
Surveilling the kaleidoscope that was my life.
Waiting for someone to chance upon my path
and remake the sense of it all.
Yesterday is tomorrow and tomorrow was last week.
The orderly patterns of existence
that had kept me blindly safe,
had dissolved to a blur of images;
orderless and ambiguous to the life I’d led.
I wandered aimlessly through the frames.

I thought to cross the busy lane
but cobblestones cause foot pain
As I chance upon a rushing stream
her current whispers, 'Don't dare dream'
When fragrance beckons from the rose
angry bees buzz 'round my nose...
While softly falls the swirling snow
Might I fall? Who would know? ---
And now to secure my tank's door
Three cheers ~ I'm off to war

My Home
I watched many mornings dawn
Through my own eyes,
The seasons changed before me,
Winter snows followed summer rains,
Ev’ry path I followed I made my own decisions,
But in the evening light
I prayed for a miracle,
Someone to share my life with,
Then you came from your family I called from my home -
Called to be one in body and one in soul,
For from this time on
My heart beats with your heart,
Your life my very breath,
Now I choose to take a chance upon tomorrow
With you,
Asking Heaven’s blessing upon this life together,
Guardian of our vows abide with us
In stormy times – in laughter and in overflowing joy
Ev’ry day of our life;
And wherever we travel,
Wherever we go,
I will stay with you
For with you
I am truly at home.

Never writing for the unholy dollar,
but that kid in a hundred years
When the world has irrevocably changed,
and lies are all one hears
If he could happen to chance upon my words,
just once while searching blind
Then my humble verse would breathe new life
—within his ears to find

Love is patient
Love is far too kind
My love is unconditional
I want to give you all my love
I can’t keep it all to myself:
I lost my heartbeat, I found it in you
We beat together now!
What circle have you gotten me into?
Not that I want to get out of it!
I long to sleep and wake up every day
By your side to love and support you.
How did you chance upon this power
To open my mind and heart again to love?
You have been persistent in your love for me,
Your caring touches my heart,
Will I be able to contain all these?
The love, affection, care that you are capable of?
Will I be able to fully reciprocate?
You will always have the power to touch my heart
I have surrendered it all to you,
I want to be powerless when it comes to you.
We both know the meaning of love,
Never thought it could feel like this ever again
That feeling when you walk with that special woman
Or man in your life, glowing with pride!

Forge a waiting game
Trace a festive flame
Spice the end game cheer
Watch how time sparks clear
No vain wordings fit
Little bits of wit
Dream of happy date
Patience bears kind fate
Chance upon the prize
Meet with fond surprise
Play the waiting game
Be beyond all blame

Fit that sure ease
With happy wit,
Fund your clear peace
As balance fits.
Dance in the light
Where joy swirls fond,
Chance upon sight
Where beauty spawns.
Deep mellow light
Can shine new daze,
Set poignant sight
In sensuous craze.
Words come around
To set true reach,
Upon old grounds
Face each to each.

Hitch-hiking on the road of yellow bricks
I took a chance upon a passing whim
It ferried me where thins grow out from thickes
Turns out, I found myself out on a limb
Imagine, on a limb and at my age
How could I get my feet back on the ground
My first instinct was fly into a rage
A brainstorm came, then all my anger drowned
Yet this was not my first time on a limb
Fact is, I've shinnied down more than a few
These days, instead of taking it so grim
I've learned to sit and just enjoy the view
If you're caught on a limb by some mistake
The bright side is, the damned thing didn't break

A gust of icy air blasts
the cold into my bones,
tugging at my knees with
hollow, aspirating groans,
making numb my cheeks,
whirling 'round my waist;
pulling at me thither-ward
down cobbled streets in haste.
Thick snowflakes lightly flurry
soft upon my lashes,
squinting hard, I blink away
the blinding, frozen ashes.
Presently, I chance upon
a steepled, stony schloss,
whence I knew myself beyond
the bounds of Hotzestrasse.
All around me, strangers rush
to unfamiliar places;
swiftly stepping, spinning past
with stern, impatient faces.
I sidle down a sleepy street,
apart the harried crowd,
into the quiet entrance
of a quaint café I bowed.
A corner cuckoo ticks away
the time with listless ease,
whiling away the morning;
an anxious spirit to appease.
Rich and steamy mochas
warm away the frosty chill
of this melancholy trav'ler
reflecting on the wintry still.
