When I chance upon a lone squirrel
The vibe hardly approaches a thrill

You think he's cute, waving his bushy tail
Congratulations! Here's your rodent for sale...

Thinking outside his cage
A war on tradition he waged,
Writing notes by chance, upon a page-
His disharmonies cannot be forecast
Many suppose his music will not last

Swum
swimming in a sea of unfelt
reality, i happen to chance upon
your ship and down it goes, lost
on my tides, left without direction
in this unforgiving time of not-
yet-free, not-yet-sane, but fully
aware and alive are we as we
sink once more...

First Frost
First evening's frost,
...a gentle touch-
to kiss the glass,
enrobing blanket 'pon the out,
neither heating, nor shielding-
...those unlucky few-
who chance upon it's love-
in the cruel chill of fortnight.

His Ears To Find
Never writing for the unholy dollar,
but that kid in a hundred years

When the world has irrevocably changed,
and lies are all one hears

If he could happen to chance upon my words,
  just once while searching blind

Then my humble verse would breathe new life
  —within his ears to find

Forge a waiting game
Trace a festive flame

Spice the end game cheer
Watch how time sparks clear

No vain wordings fit
Little bits of wit

Dream of happy date
Patience bears kind fate

Chance upon the prize
Meet with fond surprise

Play the waiting game
Be beyond all blame

Halloween: a Fragment
One winter weary dreaming
they chance upon my door
several ghastly ghouls
screaming for some more
insistently they went on tapping
rapping at my door
Quietly creeping silently weeping
crept I to the chamber door
standing indecisive
with I my hand upon the door
heart beating memory fleeting
flung I open the door
T'was Halloween
this and nothing more...

I thought to cross the busy lane
   but cobblestones cause foot pain

As I chance upon a rushing stream
her current whispers, 'Don't dare dream'

When fragrance beckons from the rose
angry bees buzz 'round my nose...

While softly falls the swirling snow
Might I fall? Who would know? ---

And now to secure my tank's door
Three cheers ~ I'm off to war...

Fit that sure ease
With happy wit,
Fund your clear peace
As balance fits.

Dance in the light
Where joy swirls fond,
Chance upon sight
Where beauty spawns.

Deep mellow light
Can shine new daze,
Set poignant sight
In sensuous craze.

Words come around
To set true reach,
Upon old grounds
Face each to each.

Wise words work well
Charm spins a spell

Lines in sure rhymes
In sync with chimes

Sense a sure start
Deep in your heart

Know how joy moves
Cheer in fond grooves

Seize then bold play
Upon the way

Ink stains can sketch
A vivid etch

Live lovely craze
In this deep maze

Chance upon trance
To splurge swift dance

Premium Member Is It Going To Rain
The wind calls your name
Dark clouds on the plain
Gusty wind in my heart
Blowing us apart

Is it going to rain?
Can you feel my pain?
Is it going to rain?
I think I’m going insane?
Tell me is it going rain?

Calm before the storm
Chance upon a breeze
Whisper in the night
I want to hold you tight?

I can feel the weather
In my bones
It’s telling me
I’ll be alone

Tell me is it going to rain?
Tell me can you feel my pain?...

Loves Heights
Love reveals my inner self
gives naught to tears divine
why doth my heart demure
chance upon immortal time-

Diamonds weary upon the dust
that see through pains regret
live in ever death
my soul to slumber yet-

Born on oceans weak and weary
that chase the sand and sea
scars of all my life
whatever comes will be-

Give rest unto my soul
send doubt where it may
lingering heights to ever reach
the shining stars
that give me eternal day-...

Chance upon what chance endows
Wise beyond what wise knows how

Change becomes what change finds ground
Style moves sum what style finds sound

Beauty shows what beauty frees
Folly knows what folly see

Lovely finds what lovely can
Heart now minds what heart attends

Poise fashions what poise excels
Voice actions what voice propels

Living space what living wills
Charm can face what charm feels

Poof
That childhood faith, vehemently spirited,
Difficult to bend, impossible to tame.
That still-cradled heart, curiously open,
Eschewing fear, shunning struggle,
Accepting of each coming day.
The journey so hazardous.
Now a cold-forged and unyielding heart
Beats out each agonizing minute.
Jared by indolence and disappointment,
Vision unrecognizably scarred.
The journey so quickly done.
Needing to chance upon that child again
To lightly touch the angel's brow....
