The Daredevil

I thought to cross the busy lane
   but cobblestones cause foot pain

As I chance upon a rushing stream
her current whispers, 'Don't dare dream'

When fragrance beckons from the rose
angry bees buzz 'round my nose...

While softly falls the swirling snow
Might I fall? Who would know? ---

And now to secure my tank's door
Three cheers ~ I'm off to war

G'day Gershon … almost everything we do is a gamble, but the odds are not so good in a life or death battle - thank you Gershon - Lindsay

Taking your words to heart, Lindsay, I am going to be extremely careful crossing the street from now on! LOL. Thanks! ~ Broken Hip ---pie

A lot of people get discouraged in their journeys through life. To them, each impediment seems like an insurmountable obstacle. Taking action can be hard. Love the final two lines as sometimes it does feel like we live in a battle zone. Awesome writing, Gershon! Hugs, Carolyn

Thank you for your comment and your all your kind words, Carolyn. In 2013, I taught with adult teachers who actually freaked out about having to change apartments from time to time. It was just 'too much' for them... Get out the play-do and the stuffed animals, I guess! :) gw

Oh, this ended on such a serious note! I was not expecting this. What a grave surprise.
