The Eternal Journey

"The quiet waters buoy the boat of the departed."
                       - Quote by Poet

Separated from the body
The soul seeks an eternal refuge
Beyond borders
The soul sojourns to the celestial city
Silence walks through the door
There’s a decline in the numbers that embark on dawn’s bus
Grief pervades the room
Tributes speak volume
The symphony ends
The epitaph mirrors the past.

A City of Splendor and Grace

We are bound for a city of splendor and grace,
Where farewells are never the case.
Heaven’s realm is beyond earthly scenes,
Where mansions are prepared by heavenly means.

With Love as judge, the verdict is clear,
Everyone is invited to be a part of this splendor.
Gates of pearl adorns the entrance way,
Gold-lined streets where we will forever stay.

Time runs on eternity’s sway,
Guiding us through our darkest way.
Partial knowledge we hold in our grasp,
In heaven's embrace, full wisdom clasp.

Mysteries revealed in Word’s light,
City above, shining ever so bright.
In the skies, this celestial city stands,
Beckoning us to take Heaven’s hands.

Premium Member A Tale of Two Cities

In the mind of earth’s creator,
towering, tall, majestic walls,
symbol of celestial city,
established on foundation sure.

On the promise of his maker,
Abram’s faith beheld its beauty.
City with a firm foundation,
made by God’s almighty hand.

After God deluged the nations,
steeped in sin, ripe in rebellion,
Noah’s sons and their descendants,
in their travels found a vast plain.

Come let us erect a city,
made of bricks secured by asphalt.
Spread out in the land of Shinar,
with a tower reaching heaven.

But the Lord seeing their motives,
devised a scheme their plans to thwart.
He swooped down, confused their language,
scattering them east, west, north, south.

Babel’s tower stands symbolic,
of man’s pride and perverse scheming,
in his quest for independence,
from his God and sole sustainer.

Zion city, earthly forebear,
of the city with foundation.
Fashioned as the habitation,
Soon to be my eternal home.

Premium Member Viewing Eternity

Viewing eternity with faith’s vision
my spirit zooms to celestial city
exploring fortressed mansion of great love
secured upon gracious peace-filled freedom
constructed by the sovereign Architect.

Along heavenly avenue, I stroll
on golden streets, divinely euphoric
then in saints’ closets, very welcoming
I fellowship with the heroes of faith
reminiscing jubilant engagements.

As my soul longs for that forever bliss
now I yield to the Saviour by His grace
to serve with love, reaching-out joyously…
since in the twinkling of an eye*, we’ll meet
yes, I’ll face Him with body glorified.

*1Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Premium Member Beholding Celestial City

Radiant veduta* of the celestial city
enthralling with shades verily wondrous
highlighting glorious hues
tints glowing midst heavenly splendor
perfectly-blended colors…

With the Scriptures’ presentation
recorded in Revelation 21
Lord Almighty showed
panoramic vista so clear
…“that great city… out of heaven from God.”**

Through the eyes of faith
I behold the beauteous grandeur
surpassing painting’s inspiration
marvelous divine cityscape
believing that there --- I can eternally dwell.

*a painting of a town or city

**Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.

The Lights of Christmas

So like a kaleidoscope, twinkle
this shivery night.
Bringing back memories of past
Christmas Eve delights.

For me, Midnight Mass in Latin
was always said.
Whilst smells of intoxicating incense
wafted up my head.

My huge family all dressed well
and bowing their heads.
These loving memories now
wrapped in soft velvet,crimson red!

The frost on the windows, the
food tasted as if from heaven.
'Twas almost like a celestial city.
Wrapped in great, golden ribbon!

Always, always in me, the soft lights
of Christmas forever glow.
Casting rainbow colors on the
mirrored, rainbow snow.

Adieu Felicia Enato

Good Morning Grandma.
It really was a hitch free journey
between a tumultuous earth,
and a refreshing dawn
in a glamorous
celestial city.
Conveyed in honour,
on eternity's ship,
in the midst of a flotilla,
each by angels maneuvered.
I do sincerely congratulate you
for your new found bliss.
And as you merry in your
world of paradisation,
be sure to plead our cause
before His Majesty divine.

To Winifred:

Wild and beautiful flower
I shudder as the thorns
Numb my veins. I cower;
I fear as I attempt to lock horns
For your beauty
Radiates at a pace
Eternal beings of the Celestial City
Drool over. Your face
Uncovered with words
Guiding me in life’s race
Over life’s pointy swords
Reality check: your offences Jet through my defences
Immobilizing my senses

After This

After This
Somebody said, there’ll be a morning after
But it will always be, preceded by the night
Escorting morning, re-emerging laughter
Beleaguered souls, once again takes flight

Sometimes, those nights were dim and long
Loved ones lament, with no sound, no song
Delaying the birth of a brand new day
Thoughts all in turmoil, yet quietly pray

An emotional yet triumphant moment
For her, a journey beyond the firmament
Her night has ended, gone her tiresome load
Finally in that celestial city, her eternal abode

Somebody succinctly said, life goes on
Yes in our hearts, but ultimately gone
A gratified façade our emotions to hide
New day, bright sunshine, yet cold outside

On the Occasion of the Death of Your Worst Enemy

On the Occasion of the Death
of Your Worst Enemy

By Elton Camp

Even if you secretly hope he “went to hell”
It’s a time social lies you’re expected to tell

“We had our differences, but he was a friend.
I am so very sorry his life has come to an end.”

“The world will no longer be the same place
Never more to see his bright and smiling face.”

“His death is a terrible loss and such a pity.
Be happy he now resides in the celestial city.”

“He got the glorious reward that he deserves.”
Even if, as Satan’s demon, you think he serves

“I didn’t attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved
of it.” -- Mark Twain

Star Crossed

Night sky softly cradles a lustrous moon
Stars shimmer destined serendipity
Lay out our fate as cast in ancient rune
Gateway opens celestial city

Stars shimmer destined serendipity
Receiving the great gifts of desire
Gateway opens celestial city
On the waves that the cosmos inspire

Receiving the great gifts of desire
Moonlight nudges the night to awaken
On the waves that the cosmos inspire
Know our fate the stars have not forsaken

Moonlight nudges the night to awaken
Remembering our dreams from deep knowing
Know our fate the stars have not forsaken
Night gleams cosmic patterns ever flowing

Remembering our dreams from deep knowing
Bright moon draws down the waves of tides turning
Night gleams cosmic patterns ever flowing
Pulsing to our true heart’s deepest yearning

Bright moon draws down the waves of tides turning
As above, so below life transpires
Pulsing to our true heart’s deepest yearning
Evoking all star fated desires

As above, so below life transpires
Lay out our fate as cast in ancient rune
Evoking all star fated desires
Night softly cradles a lustrous moon
