The Lights of Christmas

The Lights of Christmas So like a kaleidoscope, twinkle this shivery night. Bringing back memories of past Christmas Eve delights. For me, Midnight Mass in Latin was always said. Whilst smells of intoxicating incense wafted up my head. My huge family all dressed well and bowing their heads. These loving memories now wrapped in soft velvet, crimson red! The frost on the windows, the food tasted as if from heaven. 'Twas almost like a celestial city. Wrapped in great, golden ribbon! Always, always in me, the soft lights of Christmas forever glow. Casting rainbow colors on the mirrored, rainbow snow. December 1, 2019

Hello Panagiota ... sometimes I think the days leading up to Christmas with all the preparation and goodwill is bigger than Christmas Day itself - thank you Panagiota - Lindsay

Hi Lindsay! I see your point! We celebrate Christmas unti the first days of January, on the Feast of the Three Kings. The hard part for me is putting the tree and lights away. Such beautiful things. Panagiota xx

Beautiful. I remember the Latin mass, I also remember thinking the language was beautiful though, I doubt that I could sing a song or say a prayer in Latin now, it's been so long since they stopped.

If you can pronounce syllables, you can do Latin. I studied Latin four years in HS. And still remember some of the prayers and songs. From Masses, rosaries and prayer books, I still have these books. Nothing as uplifting as Gregorian chant, yes ML was years ago! Thanks for sharing.))) Panagiota xx
