After This

After This
Somebody said, there’ll be a morning after
But it will always be, preceded by the night
Escorting morning, re-emerging laughter
Beleaguered souls, once again takes flight

Sometimes, those nights were dim and long
Loved ones lament, with no sound, no song
Delaying the birth of a brand new day
Thoughts all in turmoil, yet quietly pray

An emotional yet triumphant moment
For her, a journey beyond the firmament
Her night has ended, gone her tiresome load
Finally in that celestial city, her eternal abode

Somebody succinctly said, life goes on
Yes in our hearts, but ultimately gone
A gratified façade our emotions to hide
New day, bright sunshine, yet cold outside
