A Gemini, I have a mercurial personality.
This means I successfully eliminated a lot of jobs
Before settling on my current position.

The children I work with do not question it
when my burgundy hair gets a white stripe down the part.
They know I am older. I tell them I am a hundred and fourteen.
It makes them laugh.

Our mother was the prettiest mom in the room. Creative, multi-talented, always doing much more than what was average. We never had a store bought dress and ours were gorgeous with ribbons, lace, and rickrack. Mom did not need a pattern. She would see a dress in a storefront and make one like it that

Caterpillar in chrysalis,
mummified pain,
sleep it off.

Doze o beautiful butterfly,
wings clipped
but for a raging season.

Fair garden waits,
as your friends
tend to pests,

at your behest,
and string pretty things
that will win your smile.

Fly, with your similitude of pattern,
