I walked through the valley of darkness.
How breathtakingly beautiful it was.
Gaze of birds watching over me,
I draw a veil molded in ocher clay.
I walked holding my breath.
Unseen, the ticking sound of unseen birds,
I walked through that valley of darkness,
Drawing yet another veil.
I do not pray.
At least not in this moment.
Though my body is feminine,
Inheriting the wild instincts of a seven-generation cat,
Before a swarm of cockroaches can infect me in an instant,
I sense it beforehand and let out a fierce roar.
"Meow!" "Hssss!"
Why, you ask?
The life of the slum
Always cries out,
Even within its depths,
Building its own cruel pyramid,
To attack me—
Someone they deem even less than themselves.
Golden ribbons stretch as far as the eye can see,
A boundless sea under the sun's gentle light,
Where every stalk of amber wheat sways free,
Unfolding a vision so breathtakingly bright.
The wind comes whispering low from the west,
Tracing soft ripples across the warm, heavy grain,
Turning the quiet soil into a restless crest,
Rolling like oceans over the open plain.
Each gust carves tides through the deep golden hue,
A shimmering swell of honey, brass, and straw,
Rising and falling like waves in the blue,
Holding the heart in a silent, reverent awe.
Above the calm surge, the warm air comes alive,
As jewel-toned dragonflies shimmer and gleam,
While tiny gold midges weave through the hive,
And lacewings float past like a summer day's dream.
High in the canvas of an immaculate sky,
A crisp wedge of swans cuts through the soft white,
In perfect formation, soaring gracefully high,
Shadows drifting over the field in their flight.
Picture-perfect and still, yet endlessly in motion,
The earth paints a masterpiece under the sun—
Where the dry prairie wheat turns into an ocean,
And heaven and harvest are woven as one.
Within the sunrise,
You are already stroking my heart,
And I touch the breast of the sun.
Ah, how breathtakingly beautiful.
Yesterday, together with the sun and the moon,
We held and touched each other in turn.
As we shared our steak,
I pressed sweetness upon your lips with one hand,
And with the other, you poured sweet warmth into my soul.
Toward our target,
Along with the rolling waves,
We smile at one another
And laugh together.
The sound of waves echoing from afar
Now swells and breaks through the joining of our hands.
My heart,
Your heart.
Whether asleep or awake,
Together, we crash like the eternal waves.
In the mists of your eyes, I find myself lost,
Oh! To love thee, I have to pay a huge cost,
To be with you, with my family, break ties,
I find myself lost in the mists of your eyes,
To never see them again, is that fair chance?
Because lifelong I wish to, with you, romance
Does loving you have to be with so much pain?
Is that fair chance to never see them again?
Still, I'll follow you to the end of the earth,
In my eyes, our love is more than that much worth,
Promise me, my dear, that you'll always stay true,
To the end of the earth, still, I'll follow you,
You are my breathtakingly beautiful light,
My day starts with you and ends with you at night,
Together, we can touch the brightest, farthest star,
My breathtakingly beautiful light, you are,
Today, I bid goodbye to my family,
Let's make our own ever after happily,
I can face anything as long as you're nigh,
To my family, today, I bid goodbye.
An electronic trance of light and sound
tempering the charged air between us,
all at once my heart starts to pound.
Distracted briefly by the background
that is more of a target than a fuss,
an electric trance of light and sound.
Apprehension in an instant drowned,
there is something we must discuss.
All at once my heart starts to pound.
To be your queen I must be crowned,
addicted to the friction I’m delirious.
An electric trance of light and sound.
Debris is wiped with a shot downed,
instant palimpsest is so mysterious.
All at once my heart starts to pound.
With the knowledge I’m forever bound,
I drift closer so breathtakingly curious.
An electric trance of light and sound,
all at once my heart starts to pound.
Yours is bigger
and full of stuff
and unwelcoming
angular, modern
furniture.
Mine is small
and colorful
and full
of backwards art
that I made
in my whimsical
corners
of a modest
existence.
The dogwood
is flowering
over the porch.
It will be over soon
and lots of petals
will fall
unappreciated
yet still modestly
breathtakingly
beautiful.
Your house has space
and framed pictures
in black and white
of handsome people
with frozen smiles.
My home has animals
scampering, twittering,
and sleeping,
and plants that struggle
for room in the slants
of sunlight.
Your house has
a quiet that comes
from emptiness.
There are clean
colors and lonely
rooms where no one
sits or passes through.
My home has just enough
laughter, dirt, clutter,
and future memories
for a lifetime
of collection.
A mourning dove
offers soft music
to the tattered ends
of a March sunset.
I sit in the grass
and focus.
How wonderful
it is to appreciate
the home I made my own.
Sparkling, breathtakingly.
A luxurious view.
On cliff ledges who lodge them
May not think as you do!
Of million dollars worth.
When kestrel, when falcon
Is for no outstretched claw to claw's
Money exchange called on?
Stay with me
The Zephyr breathes with the lungs
unsullied by cigarette smoke
Siesta nap
a lazy Sunday on an afternoon
when flowers wilt, the sky is recklessly
nude in transparent whispers
of silky clouds.
Breathtakingly the silence
if it should
stop
I would fall into a chasm
of pale rainbows,
stillborn moons,
corroded stars
where words of love
are unheard of, a silent echo
Inhale and exhale, my lovely
Blow a gale
but don’t leave me alone in
city parks where aged men sit
tell us how old they are.
Smoke until my eyes burn
Unforeseen circumstances occur
Forget to eat forget to sleep
Remind my heart to beat
Magical flaws in fountains
Rules of strength flaunted
Breathtakingly steep, so steep
Conjuring colorful plumes
Thought-provoking imagery
How can I create it
Yet I cannot feel a thing
Is there a tangible difference
I have come to learn
That what I seek
Is so very out of reach
Wanting that which does not exist
A love beyond love
A yearning so deep
Emotions so distant
I cannot have that which I covet
For like I said before
It simply does not exist
A love so breathtakingly unique
The skies with dancing clouds in shades
of blue, pink and gold,
All vibrant and bold.
Oh! What a breathtakingly beautiful sight.
The Beauty of Sunset is a magical transformation
from daylight.
The water in the lake mirrors the changing colours,
Giving a sense of calm and inner peace,
Birds overhead singing their final song, a form of grace,
As they return to rest at the end of their day.
And in awe, I witnessed, today fading slowly away,
soon to be another yesterday.
The beauty of Sunset, a sense of wonder,
one of life's simple pleasures,
Giving moments of joy the memory will always remember and treasure.
So, let us pause and take it all in, for the beauty
of Sunset’s display is one of nature’s finest arts.
It’s a gift and a reminder to appreciate and cherish
each day with gratitude and a grateful heart.
"sing me a song"
sing me a song that defines our story
whispering such love in all its glory
let angelic birds sound high and low
recite a dance to last forevermore
one that is new like never before
alone in union when dangerously near
splash sapphire color waters on my soul
walking hand in hand in a lustful stroll
breathtakingly the world around us fades
once there was me once there was you
now there is us with love that is true
sing me a song that defines our story
SkyWatcher
07-25-23
Soft and verdant hills
Undulating on the horizon
Aglow in the sunlight
Caressed and cloaked
Behind a screen
Of diaphanous mist
Then the heat of the day
Hit me
Saunaesquely shocking
Breathtakingly fierce
Now the hills stood out sharply
Against a backdrop
Where darkening clouds
Threatened
Prelude to a season
Inviting thunderstorms.
June sound waves are breathtakingly glittery.
Waves build avid foam on sandy coasts till blistery.
Avian creatures while they slumber, are still jittery
While the blossoming flora spreads its mystery.
Anemones and coral reefs show Earth's history.

uplift
my heart
dispel
distress
cast off
despair
begone
music tingle
my spine
emotions
realign
half dreaming
...dulcet
slow
gently awake
'twixt night
& reality
still
in no man's
land
now engaged
open
ascending
higher&
higher
presto
spinning
round&
around

a repeat
unfolds
phrase
by
phrase
skates
then
slides
stirring
into
action
continuous
exhilaration
echos
on repeat
from
edifices
of sound
strings
that sing
harmonized
into one
played
breathtakingly
fast
dispel
my disquieting
