puzzle

over a thousand pieces
to complete my puzzle
a picture of me, my heart
piecing it together my whole life
fitting in a new piece
filling in the frame
never quite complete
       pieces break off
       pieces fall away
leaving holes where others should be
       pieces are lost
       pieces are found
it will never truly be complete
on the day I lost you
the largest piece vanished
leaving my puzzle broken forever

Three painful memories

Three painful memories caused by no bodies.
1. Loss of friendship with many broken promises.
2. Disappointed with negative and harsh language.
3. Loved someone with heart of stone.
I shall move on to live my life.
I should pay more attention,
When you mentioned in the messages
"I break off relatsionships quickly,
I break them easily
and I usually make no effort to keep friendships"
Why bothered to make it then break it.
Why started nicelt it then ended it painfully.
Did you really felt nothing in our relationship.
To me, it was brief but sweet.
I might as well forget all about it.
As I told you before, we loved you,
We loathe you and we will forget about you.
I was certain, there was no fault on my part.
It was you who had no heart.

Hotel Americana

Heart ache, a road break off route sixty-six
Over each river and every state line
Tour bus travellers all finding their fix
Everyone hyphened is heightened this time
Lost luggage losing it's share of the light

American dreams with shutters pulled down
Memphis blues music feels alright tonight
Elvis themed runners surprising the town
Rocky road blue grass fades slowly away
In between cities and one horse places
Cocktail umbrellas recall brighter days
Appreciating these world weary faces
Neighbours, travellers, old lovers and friends
Ask for directions to where this tale ends.

Premium MemberAnaphylactic

DJ spin me hard,
hit me with peppermint spit;
Sick turntable bark;
Break off a word and dip it,
coat it in cocoa sweetness;

How fast can you go?
Do you have mic control?
Come on let’s hear it;
I don’t want delicate licks,
I want a total knockout;

A full grown viper
firing such venomous bars;
Anaphylactic;
Aromatic, rhythmic;
Indulge me a biting rhyme.

A Tree

I am.
A tree that has branches, which are tough.
Snow is nothing for me to handle.
When someone passes me, they break off an icicle.
And I become less sharp.
My leaves are buried under snow.
So nothing hides me.
Yet…
A dead cat lies below me.
Tangled in my roots.
The ground was hard so they didn’t dig deep.
Leaves and snow become entwined.
To cover him a little more.
I am.
A tree.
A cat is buried beneath me.
Not many people know that.

New Journey Ahead

Get ready for the new journey ahead
With endless possibilities to be enjoyed
Take the limits off your thinking
And find the secret of life worth living.

Go beyond who you think you are
And reach for the brightest star
See beyond your past misfortunes
And embrace the path that awaits.

Do something new with your life
And break free from the old strife
Take the limits off your life
And experience miracles that last.

Grab hold of the favor in your path
And leave behind all the aftermath
Perceive things in a new light
And see your dreams take flight.

Break off the chains of dependence
Rise to the newfound interdependence
March with confidence to the next level
Watch your life become a glorious mural.

Premium MemberFearless Surfers

young fearless daredevil surfers appear at costa de prata in the winter
pitting their skills against the colossal waves that break off Praia do Norte
confident they will be the one who survives, they are invincible right?
I stand on this beach, clutching my heart and my throat, danger aware.

Take Shots

1/11/23

Typical that they have doubts
It's often dragged out
All this crap being bragged about

Moving over the speed of eight knots
At a great cost
I had to take shots
In order to make lots
Otherwise just stuck in the same spot
Meanwhile all these fakes and snakes watch
From that pettiness I break off
Got no time for it, stand in the way and it's chaos

The pieces haven't fully fit into place
It's been a bit of a wild goose chase

Quite the journey
Taking steps that put me on a gurney

Much remains that is a threat
I'm building my skillset
It's just not the same as trying to kill pests
This time it's no drill test
Because this foe will vex
No pushover, meanwhile secrets still kept

Not always see through
It is indeed true
There is much out to deceive you
Meanwhile in the world greed grew
I'd give you endless love and support if only she knew
As the breeze blew

A change in vision
Gained wisdom
Out to make a difference
Not remain in the same position
No matter if people stay ignorant

Premium MemberTo Whom It Applies

All that you despise
this man who now toys
A human beings eyes
The void and how it lies

All that you despise
Quorn covered in flies
A guy who seems wise
Never winning first prize

All that you despise
This irritating noise
of a rhymester who tries
His comment that defies

All that you despise
those who are baptised
A will you cannot prise
The US military size

All that you despise
those of us who rise
Having to break off ties
A poet? now chastised

Premium MemberHow Do You Feel

Do you still hurt and cry
become overwhelmed by a sigh
Are you pining for the past
perhaps life’s going too fast

Want to get swept off your feet
feel your heart skip a beat
Fall in love once more
open another painful door

Do you miss being single
want to meet friends, and mingle
Would you like to be with child
or a teenager going wild

Is death occupying your mind
maybe your lost, or confined
Do you spend all day in bed
are there voices in your head

Tell me please! let’s work it out
I can exorcise your doubt
Just then!! the mirror replies
it’s best, we break off all ties

Premium MemberThe Gift

I'll break off a foot.
Ate both arms yesterday
The head went first of all
Early Christmas Day.

Best of all the gifts
The prize is surely won
A ginger man hand made
By my youngest, grown-up son.

Sweeter than the sugar
No frosting is so grand
The ginger scent recalls
The gentle touch of his hand.

Looking Back With the Hand Break Off

Being older than I once was, inevitably places have changed,
yet where I was born now looks like an alien city to me,
it’s now a tourist destination for the ever rootless.
Back then people were dangerous yet much kinder.
Now here in my corner of no-place-much, faces
float in and out speaking a language that means less to me
the more I hear it.

We once carried books around, we loaded cars and pushbikes
with travel books and the poetry of adventurers.
We once dared to be piratical.

Of course the young were always dumb, and the more educated
they got the dumber we all got. The old have
always talked like this, our handbrakes are looser,
thoughts slip backwards downhill, yet we must speak
occasionally about the puerile encroachments
the cheapening of what was once hard won.

The land I now inhabit gave me a passport, and an address.
I recognize sometimes who I was and where I went,
however only in antiquarian maps once crossed.

Maybe I am too young to forget, it will probably get
better as I age. Besides vapid banality
tends to grow on you bit by bit.

Premium MemberWaiting To Go Home

Laying in this coffin of a bed,
Staring into a black box that,
Won't talk back.
Legs mangled and arms like limbs,
On a tree if they bend they will break off.
Remembering those days of yesteryear,
When you felt more alive.
Just looking at old glory,
As tears fall from your eyes,
Paying tribute to your brothers and,
Sisters who are no longer here.
Trying to piece together what went wrong....
A shadow comes thru the door,
Of a face I'll never forget.
I smile then I see more and more shadows.
He tells me " Sarge, come on, it's
Time to go home."
I get up out of bed and,
We disappear into thin air as if,
We were never there.
Then you hear the slight humming,
Noise of a distant machine down the hall.

The Chameleon

Ever gone toe to toe with a monster
You know what it feels like when every body wants ya
Gotta have the pound of flesh, I'll take it when I want some
I'm the beast and youre the prey let me in munch ya

I'm the one the don't go bump in the night no more
with the lights off turn em on and theyre running out the door
See they believe what their eyes see it's sickening to some
But trust me I paid my dues, now I'm just having fun

Let me take you in the sheets and leave your body hanging
Disembodied bodied parts, some with a fang in it
When they break off they grow right back, one of the perks of many rows

But hold up, that aint right? I just counted 11 toes
So am I nodding off, eyes wired shut or is it just the pain? Who knows
Oh that's a drip, what's the cannular for, i though it was a the same?

Draw me up and show me where I'll put the IV to my brain

Maybe I'm pyschotic man but maybe I'm a freak
I'm still here just having fun man I wish I could use my feet

Resolve of a Burial Ground

Came our love with an expiry date,
Sooner that knocked the door, not so late.

None of us wantonly wished to break,
But teenage love in time rusts to shake.

Nor a knot to break off does get tied,
Time tends to loosen, wanes as each tide.

The twosome on walking together
Awhile found out: our paths did differ,

Whence was warmth there showed up when a wart—
A sad tale— no ‘till death do us part’.

To be wise being no easy task,
What then is the way out? We did ask.

No use cleaning up time’s dusty bed,
Nor even copious tears to shed,

And like a record stuck in a groove,
We both mumbled not to fall in love.

But resolve it was of burial site
That lasted but for a moment’s blight,

And much like that record stuck in groove,
Nudged a bit, onward both lives did move.
