Premium Member Fearless Surfers
young fearless daredevil surfers appear at costa de prata in the winter
pitting their skills against the colossal waves that break off Praia do Norte
confident they will be the one who survives, they are invincible right?
I stand on this beach, clutching my heart and my throat, danger aware....

Winds rip through the valley
Warping treetops bow down
Writhing branches break off
Winding down to the ground
Whisking leaves form eddies
Wrap arms round each other
Whilst heaven tries to drown

Premium Member The Gift
I'll break off a foot.
Ate both arms yesterday
The head went first of all
Early Christmas Day.

Best of all the gifts
The prize is surely won
A ginger man hand made
By my youngest, grown-up son.

Sweeter than the sugar
No frosting is so grand
The ginger scent recalls
The gentle touch of his hand....

Alliteral Storm
Turgid tempest traipses slowly,
heavy thunder, hammers holy,
livid lightning lights the lowly.

Storm surges, striking sand-bar,
winds wailing, whipping wife’s car,
rain races to rills and rock scars.

Power pulses, promising pain,
branches break-off, block the brave,
dumb to drive on dreadful days....

A Secret Stone
Hollow to follow
Willow never shallow
     Surreptitious
      Lithe
Yellow for show
Mellow for a pillow
       An umbrella
       Sempiternal

Little pockets of hearts break off with time
And with that the stone has to recover with each chime
Because of the 'major' interruption of the whole
The stone is left with another hollow hole...

To the Next Generation:
Eat me a ton of star bellies
on your grandiose trip to the Milky Way
and break off a hunk of the fluorescent moon
to burn spiral rings in your nap sack to glow
Lift up black holes and hula hoop swing
side stepping gravity's bowl with a wink
Leap onto tails of inflection's decree
and bring me the voice of the sun.

For through you vicarious living's begun
and I can't take my two eyes off you......

Penta-Cinquains ~ Seasons
~~~
Summer
Hot sultry
Scorching burning de-hydrating
Breeze rustles the leaves
Sunny
Rain
Fresh
Drizzling Refreshing invigorating
Freshness in the leaves
Monsoon
Autumn
Bereft dull
Crumpling fading descending
Break off, the leaves
Fall
Winter
Harsh cold
Snowing chilling
Blizzard burying leaves
Frost
Spring
Colourful beautiful
Blooming blossoming flowering
Green are all the leaves
Vernal
When will the olive tree be free,
its ancient roots,gnarled,twisted
earth-deep into its promised land,
stubbornly ignores its history;
With nectar,embittered and sour
the branches break off,with no bud
the unleafed tree provides no shade,
its verdant green,a dormant brown;
And yet the covenant remains,
the gardener and husbandry
daily engraft shoots with new life-
soon,will the olive tree,be free.
Thinking Upon Hades
Swindling all the small things, Trolling graveyards
For ghosts that just don't seem to be anywhere
I think they live in the imagination alone.
Yet my fingers wave in the wind like leaves,
They ready to break off and fall,
Slowly - graceful like circus acrobats.
Eventually settling on the ground.
Mmm..I always did love the crackling
sound autumn leaves make..
Almost like walking through fire,
Almost like home..
Broken Apple
A beautiful apple on a branch
grew old and began to rot
while on its way down
it cried for mercy to its father
“Forgive me, my father
I did not intend to break off
from my cottage at the branch
I only grew old. Not my fault.
But the father, the apple tree
covered his ears and eyes
“That is your fate. Fear not
Go down and rot intelligently
That is your final destination
I wish you well in another life
if you discover how to live forever
come back and teach us....
