Best Twisting Poems
Twisting the dancer spins into the mist of the night, to his very own tune
This unearthly spectra gracefully dances, only lit by the light of the moon
Softly his leather clad shoes play skillfully onto the moisten moss beneath
Night animals, stop to stare at this dancing spectre, to them he bequeath
Their little clicks of approval, seemed only to add, to the body of the tune
This unearthly spectre dances in the mist only lit by the light of the moon
He makes his way through the trees, still dancing, as he reaches the leith
Across the wooden bridge into the mist, he disappears, beyond the heath
Gazing into the mist, you imagine him there, still dancing to his own tune
One of nature’s, own loons, who only dance’s, lit by the light of the moon

Limerick : Once a tongue-twisting Pop Man-Eater
Once a tongue-twisting Pop Man-Eater
Went on rampage with just her Strummer
Tunes she hissed were so sweet
Crunched Frenchmen by the fleet
Watch Out ! ‘Merica ! for this Nor’-Easter !

Life moving on such strong axioms
Geometrically and balanced on pure mathematical planes
Between Charybdis and Silla yet still fighting Zeus
As men this our acceptance to gently take

Johnny spent all his time hustling
Finally found himself in the lap of luxury
All the cash he had
Was so damn comforting
That somehow the clown
Had begun to think
That there was nothing he
Could do
That could bring him back to
That struggle he,
Knew well
But not well enought to keep
It all from crumbling
He'd forgotton
about all the stuff That he
Did
That put him in that lovely seat,
To begin with
All the stuff that he,
Claimed he was above
He ended up underneath
Left wondering
What coulda been,
To him it was almost like
It was all just a dream
Overlook a subtleties
And go from a humungus tree,
To Twisting Tumbleweeds
Now It'sall water under the bridge....
But not to the submarine
When Left to his devices
He got victomized
By his own vices,
Definitely wasn't living
What his best life is
Put him in a crisis, Irony quite thick
His main and his side chick said
Sianara
"I got better stuff to do
Than chill with you"
The two dimes split
Like 4 nickels, the ordeal,
Had forced him to, re-analyze his
Priorities And Re-Prioritize them
He had to admit,
His life was all out of alignment
His mind drifted
Constantly and took him for a ride that was difficult to exit
Stuck on the passenger side
Disappointed with,
His compulsive Decision making
Took way too many,
Devastating blows and hits
Rolling with the punches....
Someone must have broke their wrist
He tried to hold his head High
during those tumultuous times
But his thoughts were so heavy
It always sent his chin towards his chest
Now he's just,
Trying to let the lesson sink in
And hit the deep end,
So the next time he's put to the test
He can pass it while he's sleeping
& Rise From the Ashes
That he left as he slept
Like a phoenix
And stop doing things

Boat yard lights disguise,
Twisting sinews of the tide.
Surging waters rush.
Moon-pulled flow, fierce undertow,
Stole my love to depths below.

The Twisted Mind
It behoves you well to delve in the twists and turns of my mind
As my thoughts undulate through the passages before the truth you find
Do the Tarantula March and dance well through the space
Where processing thoughts and words mingle, dancing with such grace…
Each twist, each turn, each thought kicked high, and then cleaved down low
Thrown and tossed out, chopped and diced, then a new thought does grow
My mind is dark, then light as can be, loving and warm but searching to be free.
Free from what my mind tied screams, yet I know I have heard the decree…
So pick your dance and partner well, as you skip through my mind in a twirl
The conglomeration of thoughts and brainstorms you may just unfurl
Tread carefully all those that want to know what lurks inside
You never just know the Devil, may have just taken a new bride…

O' twisting twines
and vile vines
That which binds
Our alike minds
The poison is potent
Perhaps an evil quotient
Darkness bleeds
Where chaos seeds
Around each arm
It has done much harm
Blood drizzles
And hatred sizzles
A portent of death
With each breath
Closer to the last
It happens quite fast
O' twisting twines
and vile vines
That which binds
Our alike minds
The end is nigh
Based on a silly lie
But us all did it convince
Good night, sweet prince

She thought her new job would be stressful
hearing third shift would be dreadful
at first she was slow
bending the dough
twisting all night to make perfect pretzels.

Twisting Twirling Tatiana
Tatiana tried the taunt trampoline,
The Tribune tattler Thadeus touted,
triumphed as the town's tip-top teen,
takes the title, "Tatiana" they shouted.

Drifting in a daydream I am
And we are twisting by the pool;
She's wearing go go boots hot damn,
An old girlfriend of mine – how cool!
Man, even my daydreams are old;
Who the hell still twists by the pool?
And if truth's to tell I've been told;
Yeah, my grandkids think I'm a tool.
When twisting by the pool to explain,
Their old grandpa was a dancing fool,
They look at me like I'm insane
And keep on texting by the pool.

Light Verse
Why do you always
Twist the words I say
When I mean black
I don’t mean pink
When I mean great
I don’t mean lousy
It’s exasperating
The effort it takes to
Redress your interpretation
Of my every single word
Are you testing my patience
Trying to get under my skin
It’s just a game to you
Robbing me of my energy
And messing up my head
You suck the life right out of me
A daytime vampire drama queen
I give up I’ll keep my distance
I just can’t deal with you

Those were the days my friend, how blessed we were
Although, in past quandam days, knew it not.
Home to us was warm and dry, sound and safe.
Not called on to fight, we had years to play,
Free of conscripted combat ~ with time to kill;
Time to learn, time to listen, time to speak.
Clothes were brightly colourful and charming,
Hair long and flowing ~ blowin' in the wind.
Money no object ~ or so it would seem.
The world appeared to be as a fairground,
A hall of mirrors in which to reflect;
The tunnel of love was always with us.
We played our music and we rocked-'n'-rolled
Our hearts evoked by transistors not sense;
Twisting the night away, far away, lost.
We thought those days, my friend, would never end,
Timeless days of golden spring and summer.
There were no clouds to keep secret the skies.
Yet time moves on and takes its undue toll.
Some of us are carried off with the tide,
Others remain stranded on the surf's shore.
"How lucky to be here!" I often muse
For now I know a generation raised
Was never conceived to grow up at all.

The wind dances through the trees as I sit cozy in bed, kitten at my knees.
A cream-colored ball of fur, with a boldly striped tail,
(half raccoon, half Siamese, we like to tease).
Her eyes are ice-blue, an incredible hue,
dropped off at a kill-shelter at just four weeks old
(a half-breed, not fit to be sold), with a heart of pure gold.
The thistle feeder taps the pane as the wind begins to rise,
Gold finches hanging on for their lives,
an avian carnival ride.
White caps chase across the lake,
the water a deep blue brushed with quick-silver by some artist's hand,
racing toward land.
A stark branch shudders as a solitary leaf flutters, twisting and spinning.
I wonder when it will lose its grip and drift, wafting to the ground
without a sound, as gently as a feather, but brown as aged leather,
another victim of the weather.
I hunker down to see the sky, while the kitten's purr-box is set on "high,"
warm under my duvet, I begin to pray,
reflecting on the vast experiences of my life,
so filled with strife, a vast sea of tears through all those years.
Now life has shifted gears and I'm glad to be here,
in this squat little house on a prime piece of land,
the selfless love of a wonderful man,
his mother a gift from above, showing me, finally, a true mother's love,
And the children:
Kelly, the warrior, who must fight every day and learn every lesson the hardest way;
Zach, the scholar, so much like my father,
Baby-faced Ryan, raven hair and big blue eyes, our rock-star on the rise.
And for all this I thank God, for the serenity and peace,
(no matter how brief)
And then the twisting leaf finally lets go, fluttering past the window,
waving goodbye,
riding the north wind's sigh.
