Best Innocent Poems

Premium Member I Confess, I Am Guilty

My parents said I could not keep the black, stray cat.
They explained our canary would not survive that.

Parents out, a sitter, and my four-year-old mind
Let the cat in and hoped for the best in due time.

I am ashamed to have plotted murder when four,
Sad an innocent bird died cause I liked cats more.

The whole family loved that sweet cat, “Little Bit”,
Plus, I promise, I never planned another death hit.

When Love Was Innocent

Sing for me the sweetest song
of love when life was still so young.
Those tender times and days devoid
of cares and wants troubling the old,
when smiles and laughter ruled the day,
when worries passed and did not stay.

Strum so softly your guitar
just like the nights along the shore
when music meant the world to us
and dreams were spun with so much fun.
With nary a thought to hindrances,
and silence in between did not mean sadness.

Sketch the image once again
of all our hopes and aspirations.
Paintbrush, our imaginations
that fueled all our conversations.
Let the canvas capture the moment
when each one’s triumph was heaven sent.

With words of wonder I will write
of every look and all the sighs,
of every throbbing thud within
our hearts that sometimes drown the din.
Still, we aimed our sight so high
a desire defined by what’s ideal...

When life was young, and love was innocent.

the lamb struggling to reach her

Premium Member Ode To the Not So Innocent Fifties

If only I had been a teen in the Fifties
I'm sure I would have had "Happy Days",
Like Fonzie I would have donned a leather jacket
And young babes would have lavished me with praise

Like James Dean I would have that swagger
There'd be a cigarette hanging from my lips
I'd have the right moves on the dance floor
They would say "Check out those Elvis Hips!"

You would see me riding down main street
On my Harley with a babe on the back
Making our way to A&W
The best burger before a Mac attack

Once done eating we'd go to the Drive in
If dad would lend me his new Chevrolet
The back seat would be way more comfortable
Then a roll in the barn in the hay!

With fogged windows we wouldn't see the Movie
We'd still hear Humphry Bogart and Becall
Passionately rounding all love's bases
Not concearned about the movie at all!

So now I am living in my fifties
I'm Fifty three years old to be exact
The back seats have gotten much smaller
And I am way to uncool to attract!

Small feet ~ small toes
Chubby and soft
Happiness
Congratulations
The world is new
It is their future
Setting track
Future hopes

Small feet ~ small toes
The sky is still blue
Give our kids a chance
Childhood is one of
the most important time in life
A ball with rainbow colors
Not bombs and guns

Small feet ~ small toes
Long way to go
A sky full of stars
A hand to hold
Fresh strawberries in a cup
Breaking silence of death
We can not promise,
but we can do something about it

Small feet ~ small toes
Sensitive moment in silence
Enjoy every moment
Focusing on the good stuff in life
Do not give them tears for fears
Small children in war zones
Time does not heal trauma

When I was just a little girl unaware of life,
      Father would take me to the park with him;
I loved the pond and the sweet ducks within,
Mother, father and their babies full of trust.

The ducks like me knew nothing of corruption,
      Like me they were a symbol of true innocence;
The ugliness of the world could not touch us,
In our naivete we just floated along with life.

We were sinless with no knowledge of being hurt,
      It was a beautiful day and we knew only that;
Oh to go back to those days of pure innocence,
Where death had not touched my soul as yet.

And ducks only knew they liked the pond,
     They did not know that their days were few;
We heard some boys came and killed them,
Father told me the world was sometimes bad.

I knew nothing in this age of innocence,
      I had no knowledge, no understanding yet;
Oh but that would come to this lamb of God,
Yes the years have taken my instincts of trust.

Inside I am still that little girl at the pond,
      I love to watch nature in all its beauty;
But my innocence is shattered, and I see reality,
Ugliness in the world has no limit it seems.

Dear God, is there anything more innocent,
     Than the children and all the helpless animals;
On the news every day the children are suffering,
And I weep for the slaughter of the guiltless.

And the killers protest their innocence.

Innocent Times

My memory flashes back
to innocent times long since gone.
those hot nights parked at lover's lane
wolfman jack playing my favorite songs.
it seems like just yesterday
when Peggy Sue was by my side
I was hoping to get to second base
but she just wanted to go for a ride.

I remember my palms starting to sweat
and the windows getting a bit steamy
I told her Buddy Holly wrote a song about you
but she didn't believe me.
so, I pulled Peggy Sue closer
and we started kissing once again
but time was of the essence
her dad wanted her home by ten.
she smiled sweetly
and gently placed her hands upon my face
she looked at me and said I was a swell guy
but this is not the time nor the place.
so, I gave her a peck on the cheek
and told her not to worry
we can take things nice and slow
I'm not in any hurry.

so, I drove her home and kissed her goodnight
but now what was I supposed to do
that's when I drove to the nearest payphone
dropped in a dime
and called up runaround Sue!

The Innocent Criminal

Infinite fields of the mind
Mowed down
For what is natural
Is now a fictional story
That free thought?
Probably
Behind those bars
Or under house arrest
The free mind
Coerced into submission
External forces
Wiping the colour
Gods of a black and white universe
Gradual decay
Of the child’s smile
And the innocent euphoria
The present
Is the future we talked about
The reflections in the mirror
Are robots
From the sci-fi movies
Soul is caged
While the body roams
Roams under submission
Eternal war
Bulls and the bullied fight

Feverish soul
Do not doubt
Walk on the road
Do not look beyond
If you want to live long
Shh.. They’re listening
They are listening

The Trial of An Innocent Soul

“SHAME ON YOU
HERETIC
THIS BLASPHEMY YOU CONSPIRE
MAKES ME SICK
YOU PLAY WITH THE DEVIL
AND DO NOT TELL ME YOU DO NO SUCH THING
YOU SUMMON DEMONIC SPIRITS FROM THE BOWELS OF HELL
YOU SIN WHEN YOU DANCE TO THE WICKED SONGS YOU SING
WHAT SPELLS DO YOU BREW?
WHAT CURSES HAVE YOU CAST UPON THIS TOWN?
FORFEIT THE LIES
OR YOU ARE SOON TO BE BURIED IN THE GROUND…”

“YOU HAVE PARTAKEN IN WITCHCRAFT
WE ALL KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE
YOU HAVE DEFACED THE CHURCH WITH YOUR HERESY
AND WE HAVE HAD QUITE ENOUGH OF YOU
YOUR SACRILEGE WILL PULL THE WRATH OF GOD PERFECTLY ATOP YOUR HEAD
BUT YOU SENSE NO FEELING SINCE YOUR SOUL IS BLACKENED AND DEAD
NOW SHALL SHE BE BURNED AT THE STAKE
OR HUNG BY A THREAD?. …”

“YOU’VE HEARD WHAT THE COUNCIL HAS SAID,
GENTLEMEN LEAD HER TO THE GALLOWS
WHERE SHE SHALL MEET HER END…”

“FELLOW CITIZENS OF SALEM
WELCOME TO THE HANGING OF THIS PROFANE CREATURE
WE SHALL BEGIN THIS CEREMONY
WITH A FEW WORDS FROM OUR PREACHER,
(“GOD WILL BRING THE HAMMER DOWN ON THIS HERE WITCH
THEN WE CAN PUT HER WHERE SHE BELONGS… IN THIS SIX FOOT DITCH”)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FATHER
NOW, PEOPLE HALT YOUR CHEERS
I THINK OUR DEVIL LOVER
IS EXPRESSING HER FEARS
LET’S SEE IF WE CANNOT DRY HER ‘INNOCENT’ TEARS…”

“WITH THIS NOOSE AROUND YOUR NECK
HAVE YOU CHANGED YOUR MIND?
CONFESS TO ME YOUR HERESY, YOUR WITCHCRAFT
AND YOU WILL BE RELEASED FROM YOUR BIND
NOTHING? …”

“I PITY YOUR SOUL
LET THE WITCH BE HANGED!”

Innocent Seduction

I could tell by that look in your Eye's! for tonight I plan a surprise!!. Innocent
Moment has arise, if only just for tonight!. As we share a drink, "a slow dance
would be nice".
Even better, let me rub your body down with small cube's of "Iced". Beautiful
as you are, lying across my bed, half naked and smelling real lustfully-sweet, the
touching of our lip's brings about pre-ecstacy, we can both since intamacy, "the best
is yes to be". Lucky seven as I roll out my dice. O"Yes, "Innocent Moment of Seduc-
tion", tonight is part of the plan. So relax my love, you're the main ingredient, your
eye's say, "You do Understand".

Innocent Infatuations

I am in love
With poetry
With flowers and pastry
And talents and upholstery
I am in love
With the soil and sky
And mountains very high
And winds and breeze that blows with style
I am in love
With the gyrating wormhole
And the timed UFOs
And the vibrations and the poles
I am in love
With the cloud and rains
And storms of gushes running the drain
And the visions on plain
I am in love
With the altitudes
And intense pretense of attitudes
And the emptiness of solitude
I am in love
With you and you only
And your scent which is holy
And your gaits which describe you wholely
I am in love
With none but you
And your words which are true
And your simple world too.

An Innocent Wish

"What wish would you ask your fairy godmother?", asked I.

"I would ask her to turn me into the cell phone in my mother's hand", a 6-year old's innocent reply.

Premium Member Vultures Prey On the Innocent

Not even a ballot box can change the word etched
when God has left man to his own independent council
Choice of error has crept into every corner of society
rights have been turned upside down undervaluing natural law

Which in it's content is engraved deeply and implanted for a genuine reason
vices are desires that sickens even demons
Ruling against eternal justice reeks of an awful sinful soul
what is wrong with the world today let us see

They are afraid to speak the truth openly and democratically
instead virtues and morals are fed to the lions
The first victim removing freedom
weighs heavy chains attached anchor dropped

Because of them having very little faith
sinking beneath par they applaud the sinner
removing peace fire breathing with shame and hate
Condemning everything which is good
with twisted malice beastly shaped with doctored views condemned
it will end soon when everyone awakens
from their sorrowful pitied state
