Notes About The Poem

Newborn Baby

- Innocent Children -

Small feet ~ small toes
Chubby and soft
Happiness
Congratulations
The world is new
It is their future
Setting track
Future hopes

Small feet ~ small toes
The sky is still blue
Give our kids a chance
Childhood is one of
the most important time in life
A ball with rainbow colors
Not bombs and guns

Small feet ~ small toes
Long way to go
A sky full of stars
A hand to hold
Fresh strawberries in a cup
Breaking silence of death
We can not promise,
but we can do something about it

Small feet ~ small toes
Sensitive moment in silence
Enjoy every moment
Focusing on the good stuff in life
Do not give them tears for fears
Small children in war zones
Time does not heal trauma

Oh Ann Lise how beautiful, you have written this with absolute perfection, we think of our own when they were born but we never think about those poor unfortunate babies and children, lets ponder for a moment and think of them, take care......Vera

Meaningful poem. It seems the children are always the one that suffer from the adults' mistakes.

The compassion of the author has been transposed onto the page and makes for a good read. An outpouring of emotions that surges up from the heart and splashes against the page in quiet defiance. Emile.

This was really adorable, Anne. Children are the future, and at that tender age, there are many different paths they can take. Be careful of which way you lead them, and enjoy the time you have while they are still young, for it is fleeting.

Children can be such a lovely source of inspiration, Anne Lise! They are beautiful and cute when young, seemingly fragile and in need of care and love. It is up to us to shelter them and prepare them for the life ahead. #7 ~ hugs // paul

there is nothing more precious than a child, nothing more innocent, nothing filled more with love....this poem made me smile for it showed the gentleness of your soul my poetic friend." no child has ever asked to be in this world " therefore it's our duty to love and protect them.
