Cry of the City

We will walk then, you and I

When daylight shuts her weary eye;

Down the streets where beggars sleep

And drug crazed addicts spend their keep.

On streets that wind through thick and thin

Past monuments of broken sin

The painted whores who smile a lot

A rejected child that time forgot.

The evening hymn that sorrows sing

The call to prayer that church bells ring;

The sounds and smells that rape a city

The calls for help that won't find pity.

Do we have time to heal the curse

That captures all the universe

Or would it really be worthwhile

To quell the question with a smile?

But we have walked these streets before

And hoped our ears could dim the roar

Of silence gripping cold nightmares

That come unbidden up the stairs.

We share the night with lesser fools

Who stake their plight without sound rules

For each new challenge finds old pain

That lives to give then comes again.

and that comes from within

if I had all the money that I ever wanted,
                  I suppose that I could travel the world;

live in a better home, buy designer clothes and stuff,

if money was no object in my life . . .

but you see money cannot help me,
each day my health is more delicate, slipping further away;

and all the money in the universe will not change a thing,
this is my struggle and my daily reality . . .

the things I give myself are simple,

relaxing music to soothe this weary soul;
peace, tranquility and love to ease my pain,
and I ask the Lord for acceptance . . .

in meditation I try to fathom the why,

                      of course, with money I could go to a fancy retreat;
but a corner in my bedroom is set aside for meditation and relaxing,
and it is there I have placed peaceful things that cost very little . . . .

perhaps with money I could get better drugs,
                but no drug is going to change this girl's destiny;

this I know deep in my heart and soul,
                       I have for a long, long time . . .

I think a lot about my past and life so far,

                              the paths I took or did not take;
the things I said or did not say,
could money have changed my journey in any way . . .

a warm bath, a cozy bed, a sweet purring cat,
                                                    paper and pen so I can write;
my laptop within reach, a walk in nature listening to the birds,
      a loved one to hold my hand . . . .

these are my indulgences and they may not seem like much to you,

                              but I feel like the wealthiest person in this world;
for money cannot buy happiness nor can it buy life,
all I need is the indulgence of tranquility . . .

                            ''and that comes from within''

Fifty-Three Shades Of Grey

in the uncoloured tint of another everyday amongst the spit polished waxed apples tightly packed in burlap bags they walked like minded in their own burly wrap oblivious to the irony to their similarity of the markets round red fruit unaware of the tragedy the horror of events yet to come it will rain metal shrapnel as human minds grasp with the purpose of their existence as in their ignorance they understand their worth as human bombs with a belief the heavens will open the gates with a fanfare and a promised blessing for their divine act of unquestioned belief the clay shaped bricks the black iron metal stairs the drum sound of engines then the lull not after but before before the pulse of the storm the rain of death yet this moment captured this photograph with man and child in hand smells sweet you wonder bemused why? the world travels aimlessly singularly no one nothing in the universe suggests exposes even a hint even a glimpse not a clue that would lead reveal an answer. life in its contradiction like the proverbial apple offers both the miracle the curse.

The Universe of You

I have never seen a flower blush when I took it's hue and held it there a prisoner captive to my view. I have always heard the song that's in the autumn breeze playing taps in harmony with the forest leaves. I love the smell of rain that brings the springtime into bud and swells my love of nature into a teeming flood. I celebrate the cycle of the daytime into night and find an equal blessing in the shadow and the light. I've always felt affinity for all created things and surrender to the pleasure that their beauty brings. And though I could spent a lifetime sailing drops of dew I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you. I've often sat myself by gentle mountain streams and overflowed the dams that were holding back my dreams. I've breathed the scented forest on the mountainside and washed away my sorrows in an evening ocean tide. I've laid down in a meadow and debated with the moon and spent some quiet moments on the surface of Neptune. I got married to a zodiac with one of Saturn's rings then spied a super nova and went on a cosmic fling. I've run away to nebulae in galaxy brochures and bathed in scenes of wonders on distant planet shores. Every cosmos in creation could parade before my view but I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you. I've never seen a tree once withdraw it's shade and deny a creature the comfort of its aid. I've never seen any anger in the sun at noon when it burns relentlessly on the desert dune. At sunrise I take an oath to live with all my might and reinforce my gratitude each and every night. I could spend some hours riding on a crystal flake drifting wildly in a gale mindless of my fate. Many times I've been through trials of wind and rain and snow then sentenced to the splendors that the seasons show. And though I've searched throughout creation, I must say this is true I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you.

- A Most Beautiful Symphony of Love -

Rhythmic tones form a most beautiful symphony of love
A shining star as nature's splendor reflects Heaven’s light
It’s my destiny to learn a passion and purpose to use now
Even for a moment, I would not change for you’re my love
And love is a blessing, an eternal gift that keeps on giving
Take your wish, shattered dreams—leave this world behind
And we shall seek and find a togetherness with lullabies pure
For each new emotion my heart shall always find you dearest

Sending warm golden stirring echoes dancing into your dreams
Softly lips whispering so gently in the air as a loving tune sings
As the warm sun lights up our footsteps treading on golden sands
Perfect maiden you’re the siren ringing bells for midnight chimes
True precious bride inside the heart you have keys to all the doors
Walk with me hand in hand as the soul breathes and butterflies sigh
Ocean waves crash—kissing salt of the earth as windows flutter free
Safely sitting on the throne as the crown graces a fair maiden queen

Our special music reflects the precious nature of our love dearest
As we share enchanted moments with each other so real and pure
When I take your hand in mine, I feel the magic warmth of passion
When I gaze into your eyes, I sense the depth of our love forever
The delight I share with you dear one defies all human description
And so my love—enjoy the oneness we share as two souls together
As we bask in God’s own heavenly light and music in His Universe
Our hearts unite as one in forming a most beautiful symphony of love

- A One Way Ticket -

Hills come alive with sweet sounds of birds whistling tunes
Filled with harmonious peace, you sail within time
Gentle whispering winds through branches of trees call

When you dare to take the first step forward
Everything feels so easy embracing such beauty
Mixing voices of nature talk deeply flowering

Thrown into the unknown life is truly magical
A universe inside feelings explode in one gift
The soul eclipsing delight warmed with sunshine rays

Like a virgin being on guard of the tiger claws, lions, bears and snakes
Only when your starlight kisses clouds evaporate
Time continues and the butterfly waltzes freely once more

Crossing paths in this journey new beginnings grow
Small wild strawberries threaded upon a stem beg to taste
Opening one gateway within thoughts

Setting sail into another world beyond
With you salt of the ocean waves rise and fall
Upon rocks kissing pillar of strength

A cool breeze says goodbye upon your cheek
Loving spices land this boat on paradise sands where gold sparkles warm beams
When we meet at Heaven's gate batting lashes close entering a doorway into a dream

Plato and Socrates

Dramatic prose for the pompous asses
I throw my Platos at you
If you come any closer
I will Socrates you right in the nose
Demands, demands!!!! The clowns now have demands?
I say, rise up oh poets of the infinite dot universe
Proclaim the revolution a new
Justify our fight with words wrapped in doo doo
When I see a condescending donkey trip on his verbatim
I laughs cause I know he will fall into Satan's den
I am at eleven, usually a sober man
I carry my saber high and shout "Ekphrasis I don’t give a bloody damn"
Infinite ............................ Universe

Hush The Stars

“Look up at the stars,” you say
Its just another night up on the old water tank
Our blanket is spread and here we sit with the universe our theater
Another night of showing me the constellations
Astronomy…your love
You…my love
The stars….your hobby
You….my idolatry

I try to follow your pointing finger
I try so hard to see them, those legends in your night sky
Hercules and Orion
You breathe out the names in sacred tones of awe
The constellations come alive, thundering across the sky
Celestial history of time

But the only stars I see shine in your eyes
your masculine grace
the beauty of your face
your inner glow that shames this night star show
you take my breath away...

And all I know on this night
is that I want to slide down the handle of the Big Dipper with you
And splash into the waters of passion
Drenched in the liquid light of your love
My universe

“You’re not listening…” you reprimand gently
as you look at me
I can’t speak
You touch my cheek
“What is it?”
And my voice is still
as I struggle to find the will
to make you see
all that you mean to me
I rise to my feet
Trembling, I speak...

“I will not let ….the stars outshine MY love for you
That’s…all you see
I’m here
now taste my jealousy"...
Your upturned face moves me beyond inhibitions..
My hands overcome the shyness
my stuttering voice belies
They start to undress me

“I am…your earth bound Virgo
Here….I’m here…
But I will no longer be your virgin...
Not tonight"
My blouse flutters to the ground
and my hands move to my skirt
"Make me your Andromeda, your chained lady
Yes….wrap yourself around me
Bind me with your love
Be my hungry Leo, thirsty with desire
And I will play the part of Aquarius… a water bearer of love”
And my undergarments….along with my skirt, fall all around me
Naked, I lower myself onto your lap
I straddle you
as the Milky Way straddles the night sky

And now….I am all you see
Your star struck eyes now focus on me
Wonder fills them as they take in my breasts
Full and taut with desire
for the first time revealed
I feel your fire
I speak…

“Yes, you cannot touch celestial orbs, but touch these...
Touch me...taste me....I'm here
And let my throbbing full moon
Covered now with a mantle chaste
Reveal itself to your touch
I want you so much...
Yes, I'm here"...

And you fondle and taste
and you fiercely embrace
In my virgin blush
the stars hush
they hush to the sound of your name
that comes from my lips in bursts of new pleasure
time stands still to in the wake of this thrill
and my universe comes to be
birthed within your release

Trembling in my arms you speak
In a voice awed and weak

"My universe...is you
The stars fall silent...their voice is hushed
every time....
every time...
you say my name.

You hush the stars with my name"

A Mother's Envy and Pride

Lapis lazuli mines with wide blue eyes
bringing to mind precious stones and
caramel scones; innocent and wise -
Wondering, yet without surprise.

Staring down the universe, a challenge
in your look though you are young;
The earth made only nine revolutions
since you came out to see the sun.

Unguarded and arched, your brows
betray high wire tension; enough
to light up a hundred moons and warm
plump cheeks to cherry bubble gum.

Be not impatient to grow; you smell
of open grasshopper meadows
and firefly lighted lakeshore walks.
You’re a mother’s envy and pride.

Red lips! Your passion for life exists.
Scarlet, lipstick would be a surfeit -
Today as then till many summer’s been,
your spirit will always be free as the mist.

Sun And Moon

. I am the moon hanging solitary in the sky watching sails fluttering by breathlessly against the wind. I'm just a rock ,dark, unknown without a light that is my own. Yet He ,He sees hues I cannot see and the true colours in me. He, He is familiar to my face This face that shines less brightly without his full embrace. He is the sun, He is the one Never so close , always too far yet still staying behind me . He casts his softest glow reflecting orange and soul, He penetrates his warmth A fire ball of wants , Then fades ,fades away in the horizon. He is the sun, He is the one in a universe of nothingness . He fills our gaps, hopes and regrets Never so close ,always too far yet still staying behind me. I am the moon ,He is the sun He is the one...He is the one

Loving Helena

The chair is her home, her universe now
It is all that her many years will allow
Helena’s elegant beauty once shone
Now her mind wanders a world of its own

Age has changed her body but not her heart
Many great stories she’d always impart
To the wide-eyed grandchild she admired so
A girl who has loved her since long ago

Tales of black velvet gowns in which she’d dance
Soft moonlit beaches where she found romance
Economic hardships that came to pass
The rise and the fall of each social class

Her hands and face are now weathered with age
Accounts of the past still flow from this sage
And though some repeat again and again
I still listen now, just as I did then

I’ve memorized these tales, her gifts to me
And always I’ll remain her devotee
It matters not that my name escapes her
Love from her eyes she can always confer

Grandma brushes fingers across my face
And whispers, “Beautiful,” as we embrace
Though I miss years when she knew me so well
I know in the past her memories dwell

My love for her lingers, it always will
I take comfort knowing she loves me still

Night Silence

Twilight evokes my tranquility and silence of the night, with my peaceful guidance between the moon and the stars, the placid eclipse in the universe is so calm and bright, I play my melodies so gently on my acoustic guitar. With my peaceful guidance between the moon and the stars, there is a symphony shining through the constellations, I play my melodies so gently on my acoustic guitar, between sundown and nightfall there is a correlation. There is a symphony shining through the constellations, I feel a tune so vibrant with echoes of a midnight chorus, between sundown and nightfall there is a correlation, I see the paragon moon reflect equanimity before us. I feel a tune so vibrant with echoes of a midnight chorus, the stillness exclaims compassion for the world to see, I see the paragon moon reflect equanimity before us, Mother Nature has created nocturnal brilliance, so free. The stillness exclaims compassion for the world to see, for some the silence of nightfall seems so hard to find, Mother Nature has created nocturnal brilliance, so free, as the halcyon dusk sets, ready for the destiny of mankind. For some the silence of nightfall seems so hard to find, the placid eclipse in the universe is so calm and bright, as the halcyon dusk sets, ready for the destiny of mankind, twilight evokes my tranquility and silence of the night. Hear Oh L-rd

The Festival of Lights, Chanukah has arrived
a hopeful time of praise each year revived.
The Menorah lit, each home becomes a church.
Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe.

Our sister Miriam lights the shamash taper first
a maiden fair and scholarly her prayers rehearsed
to bring together all that's beautiful, diverse.
Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe.

Eight nights we praise the L-rd for gifting us with Light
and pass around small things which bring delight.
We rejoice. In brotherhood we are immersed.
Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe.

May G-d in his greatness light all your days
May family, friends, and foes mend their ways
for all have needs, let kindness tame their thirsts
Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe.

On Such Divine Evenings

Aye, Spring-tide ...

On such divine evenings, thus, are perfect odes not freely spun?
The Perseids, dancing their jigs - evanescent stripes of golden ire,
under a tapestry of wonders ...

Watching rapt, ever-attentive, streaking, burning ephemeral, as if the
gods themselves trace their fingertips gently on a phosphorescent brine,
but this, yet, a sea of suns.

Could it be they are fleeting?

Hopes of angels, perhaps, dying bright in the veil of Zion - plunging to earth
as if mortal. Perchance, they're pearls of Sol, strands of liquid morning, pure,
to adorn the breast of Heaven.

Could they be forsaken souls?

Lost spirits, given one last chance to burn - to sign their id on the firmament.
Or even yet, the wishes of children, sparkling to life in the midst of their
deepest dreaming ... and then gone.

Oh, surely, it must be that!

Their bright, momentary glory is meant for just such tender fancy, the
imaginings of youth, the only fit and worthy vessel for such runes, and I,
an ever-willing caretaker.

Thus, on such divine evenings ...

Aye, Spring-tide!

IRONBAR

He just appeared to me, like wispily curling
Chimney smoke,
One grim and early morning in the very midst of
Decembers briefest days, on the highest slope,
Toiling through my daily round; where, slowly
Driving up past the Whitethorn hedgerows to
Ascend the snowy Heys, I had carefully negotiated
The wide and slowing bend to regain the summit of
Grappenhalls ploughed and upper-ground.
Stopping the car I stepped out to take a closer
Look. There he stood: New born and rather wobbly.
His long blustery mane thick and silky: Liken the
Mythical Enbarr; a wide eyed expression of staring,
Uncomprehending malaise written all over his
Shaggy face...So wondrous was he of this icy world
So rigidly bound.
Perplexed - perhaps, or amazed, at the utter
Desolation of this cruel place and the callousness of
The Fates wounding imposition upon him...when
Thrust forcefully into yonder shattered bowl - shrunken
Hopelessly into the clutches of such an altogether frozen
surround!
Little icicles beginning to form upon his fuzzy beard;
A first taste of his mothers hot milk, that, in his
Awkward blundering, he must have hastily spilt
When clumsily fumbling with extended and pouting lips
Upon the swollen teat. The foul weather, so unfortunately
Adverse, of hail and sleet, gathering more momentum -
Didst indeed still prevail...increasingly growing
Steadily even more worse!
Stood his mother there - resolutely, as if grave Epona
Depicted in a hewn chunk of Grecian rock! This
Metallic pan he shivered within: The centre of his
Twirling Universe designated as this one small
Spot...And all it should ever contain therein.
A ripping wind that snarled and savagely bit down like
A pack of wild hunting dogs, oblivious to his obvious
Distress, into newly formed bones,
where, stretched across: Tightly pinched muscle and
Tautly sinewed flesh - involuntarily flinched!
Whilst all the while, not withstanding despondent
Resignation, an aggrieved
Spirit that silently and inwardly bemoans;
Contained here...In his sparkling kingdom of barbed
Wire and an irregular scattering of smoothly rounded
Stones.
A torturous blast that blew so raw I stamped my feet,
As if a horse myself, and exhaled upon my hands, now
Clasped and sore, vainly trying to reinforce myself
Against the unrelenting cold; a fearsome breeze
Howling in rising crescendos, unopposed,
Through the blasted files of battered trees, whose
Roots clawed in desperation at the thin soils of that
Barren hill, leaving him naked and painfully exposed
To the ruthless torments of a vicious blizzards
Crippling chill!
Casting hopefully about I sought to catch sight of a
Kindly soul, whom, with an imploring stare or polite
Shout, I could impose upon to relieve the slight laden
Over the plight of the brave little Foal. Oh staunchest
Mare: Thou art Impenetrable like the shield of Achilles!
Grimly determined as if to refute the very elements
Themselves, and dare the brazen God
Of Thunder - to break! And heap upon this forged and
Ferrous land when unleashing his indolent Furies -
The mauve and purple clouds to violently tear asunder!
For, gripped in the maw of such a gnawing ire,
What could you possibly know, little man, of
Comforting warmth leaping across a cheery hearth
When stoked and released from the confines of a
Parlours glowing fire?
Or Vulcans hellish fires bursting forth from erupting
Volcanoes - when spewed out blistering magmas run!
Majestic fires pervading Angels disrupted heights:-
They whom bear witness to the obliteration of an
Exploding Supernovas doomed sun!
Fire or Ice...it be all the same: One scorches within a
Tightening Vice - One within a wanton flame!
Tarried I a while longer, like a man unsure whether he
Was to be completely overtaken by some momentous
Event,
And wondered out aloud: What hardened heart had
Deserted this poor creature to this inhospitable
Environment?
The self same heart that had decreed that he, the
Finest of this rare breed, should open his eyes on that
First morn to find his meagre plate encumbered with
Miseries so devoid, and served with inadequacies of
Such spiteful forlorn; with nought to sate the ragged
Edge of his desperate appetites...save his mothers
Fluids; although, in urgent anticipation, should
Give him good cause to keenly salivate wouldst barely
Suffice the discontented juices, that unceasingly
Complained aloud, to happily digest and
Gratefully dissipate within his hollow bowel.
It was then I suddenly noticed, slowly revealed to my
Aging sight - Barely thus adjusted and focused to that
Opaque light, what looked like a black tarpaulin thrown
Across a bundled pile of straw, still obscured but now
partially unconcealed,
Dumped carelessly in a far corner recessed on the
Furthest edges of this dismal field.
Could this be his drafty stall? Delivered here, unseen
And unheard, upon a bed of dried and bleached stalks -
Enabled Like a baby Messiah amongst the Israelites!
Wherein, comes the crunching night, which coils
Around his cradled form with damp and insidious
Vapours, he reclines against the unyielding Dam -
And valiantly Fights... To attain uncontested slumber
Beneath the refrain of Heavens dispassionate
Firmaments; whose Great Creator counts and records
His given number;
The blazing lanterns, admidst rolling oceans
Of abandonment and disdain, now abruptly parted -
Like the sea of Galilee! Towering waves rolled back
From the denuded and ageless bar:
Pushed out wide - And far aside...
To usher in the immutable brilliance
Of one small horses lone and guiding star...

And if I recall rightly, my little friend, I christened you
There and then...And thereby named you - IRONBAR!

God bless and keep you always little fella...For you
Awakened the poet, however inadequate, within me.

Cyber real

Has the convenience of technology
inoculated us from reality?
Do androids dream of electric sheep?
I pray the code my soul to keep?
Does your universe live within 4G
Or megapixel infinity?
Which memory lies within
The one that was
Or the one that's been
Or how much gig how much ram?
Which reality is true?
Cyber me
Or cyber you?
Cyber bully
Cyber crime
Cyber hate
Cyber time?
Cyber boxer
Or cyber brief?
Who is the real identity thief?
Cyber pleasure
Cyber pain
Hours spent glaring into the screen
Choosing an alternate username.
Status updates and trending tweets
Fill your mind and rob your sleep.
Clever hashtags and Instagram
Will shape your image and gain more friends.
Is the you you've shaped in cyberspace
The same you I'd see face to face?
We hide behind our computer screens
And criticize with brutal ease.
Virtual reality
Is buying souls of men you see
And robbing the ability to dream real dreams.
I want to conquer something real
That I can grab that I can feel.
I want to touch life and hold on tight
I want to unblock true friends
And "like" real sights.
I want conversation face to face
In real world time
In a real world place.

We Are

” You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars.” We put down roots and bear our fruits. With dear offshoots, we are like trees. Stars wink their eye, burn bright and die. In the Middle of the Universe, I stand

In the middle of the universe, I stand
My mind seeking comprehension
The mysteries of life tantalize my tenacious grip on wisdom
I stand
Observing omnipotent organization
The universe expands as I stand in wonder
What does it all mean?
Infinite answers press against my finite mind
Clamoring for recognition
I stand: dazed, amazed, crazed
By all I don’t know and can never fathom
Until there is light
And the light dawns
And the meaning of the universe unravels

Your celestial body orbits mine
Time after time
Your gravitational force defies logic
Refusing to stay in the paths ordained
The laws of nature are flaunted
and...we collide
My head is crowned with your constellation kisses
I travel in the nebula of your dreams and fantasies
As you dip into my body the Milky whiteness of your WAY
The universe explodes in the starry heavens of your eyes
Meteorite words of ecstasy
Streak across my sky of consciousness
Blazing...

Time becomes a non-entity
The mystery of love overshadows the mystery of life
And now I see…
The beginning and end of all creation
The sum total of my existence
Of life
Of the universe
Of...EVERYTHING
Is here
It’s eternal

In the middle of the universe, I stand
I understand
The universe is LOVE

Karma

Yesterday, I followed her true invisible form
Colors turning a kaleidoscopic deep and warm

A state of mind, that makes reality feel alive
Stabbing moments that teach how tough it is to survive
And still this dagger is penetrating into my back real slow
Sweeping away the grimace under the rug in a one woman show

Illusive dreams asking for more and more
Sinking with doom, as karma sways through heaven's door
There she keeps her walk on stilts avoiding kismet
Removing every single footprint before sunset

Spending eternity planning the bliss we cannot see
Quenching my confidence, with a moisture that pleasures me
Arching a dirty deed, aiming all fingers that point at me
Spreading her demonic ecstasy, a mass of light weight, we can't see

A giggle-some laugh, I cannot hear
Tainted, in a nefarious way as the night disappears
Delighted, she glistens through the celestial world alone
A whisper of love with an impossible auspicious tone

Epic and exquisite, she works incognito striking whomever she wants
She Is The Enigma!" She Is the Illness~ that forever haunts
A mysterious lady whose perception flows with her own timeless oasis
An Empress is working on her own simplicity basis

My body impervious to react to conflicts that dwell with deep desire
Aggressively my defiant ways will allow her excessive universe to transpire
Like a lily we give in to the beauty of her empress exploding ravenous lust
It's magical and feeds off of the revenge that deepens with thrust

Down in the lilac valley, storming down like a glacier leaving nothing below
We caress we emerge, then we dust off the repellent of her forsaken glow
Leaving us with wounds, when our conflicts ricochet
Impacting us with a rebound when everything bounces back our way

She Springs in like a breeze that dwells and leaves gallivant
Past shadows, swing back with a darker chant
Leaving nothing but a Chinese Aster garden terrace
Her crown, sheer vixen and vigor with Victoria's fantastical lace

Her candle desalinate effect with a gentle glow
Everything to her is an issue with the results that come and go
Karma's punishments sail real slow, against the wind, waged by the zephyr
Rebuilding from the aftermath of, Karma's payback splenetic weather

Close your eyes and feel the consequences we embrace
Secretly every wage comes with reward from our hubris sin
A grasp with no escapes from the repercussion and deeds in our hearts
Doors spillover, in a significant unexplained phenomenal start

FEELINGS

FEELINGS

Feelings,
Masters of my destiny
Lords of my life
Strength of my dreams
Instigators of my actions

Burning fire you are
Consuming my whole
Being:
My heart
My mind
My soul
My spirit,
As you relentlessly
Demand:
To be conceived
To be formulated
To be understood
To be expressed!

A Herculean task it is,
I swear,
Such an enterprise,
For how one could ever
Constrain, you, the unconstrained
And mold you into:
Phonemes
Syllables
Words
Phrases
Sentences
And still retain
Your explosive
Dynamism?

No language exists,
So vast
So deep
So accurate
So supple
As to pay justice,
To your intensity
To your desire
To your beauty
To your love!

Thus, having no
Alternative,
I turn to the only language
There is,
The one that the
Cosmos speaks,
And
The universe alone
Comprehends:
The language of
Harmony,
That we humans
POETRY name
BUT
Even then
To describe you
I AM UNABLE!

Love Burial

The burial ground, groomed to greet
the gatherers of their love apocalypse
with garlands grown and sown
from the rose fire of Athena's throne,
on this day they come to mourn
the Poet who perished for the passion of his Beloved Poetess,
the battlefields knew well the iron of their blood,
the salt of their sweat, and the pounce of their love,
raised in the tradition of trauma
trained by the tempest of temptation
disciplined in the competition of desires
refined in the violent rituals of victory
they rose in love
with everything their hearts could sing, with all that war would bring,
and in the epicenter of erotic chaos
he slashed himself with the alter sword
so that she may be free to rule this realm,

Valkyries stand vigil with primroses on speartips
gaurding him, a purple glow in their vigilant eyes,
softly humming for the lightning of his soul
as those in attendance find their solemn places,
many are present,
Death is in the northeast corner cloaked in smooth black patience
knowing in sad satisfaction that every heart, beats to bleed no more,
Devotion, dressed in a mood of disbelief
with elbows out and fists on his hips
just stares sternly at everyone, one, by one,
Poetry and Love are wearing the reds of romance and sacrifice
while whispering living tears to eachother,
Humble remains seated, meek and agape
clasping Humility's dull hand
commiserating about too much and not enough as Pride stands near,
leaning coolly against a battered pillar of Roman endurance
looking at them as if to say, hey dumb dumbs,
don't disgrace their glory with your glum and glib sully,
Envy, in burnoose sackcloth wasted not the somber moment
to decry the Poet's purpose with claptrap commotion and no compassion,
in unison, all hush his pusillanimous pout with a scalding Ssshhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Poetry, asking the Beloved Widow if she may speak
is granted permission after a breathless pause of heart heated exhaustion,
producing a daggar made from the breastbone of Eve
unflinchingly Poetry cuts both cheeks below her eyes
and the blood promenades to her ancient lips
where the warm pages of a white rose receive the ruby smear of this tragedy,
bringing the pleading flower to her own mouth
she releases a verse upon the universe...
When the nights knew no love
and her heart had only the shadow of warmth
he became the hero's breath upon her breast
the weapon she could trust
and the victor of her kiss,
when his strength served only survival
and desolation weighed the wings of his heart low
she gave his soul the sweet heat of a woman's touch,
teaching him that justice is alive in their love...

In the unbearable anguish of existing without him
she stomps to the blue marble casket,
tearing it open with love rage,
to slap and kiss her Beloved Poet once more,
suddenly, heart imploding panic bristles silently,
the air thins dangerously,
Pride plows through the throng to the side of she,
astonished, shock joy shaping his face,
the Poet's body be not there,
only the symbol of their love resides therein,
a golden pair of quills connecting in the center of a heart
their sign, their promise to eachother,
she turns to Love imploringly, for the truth,
and he removes the jewel from the coffin
returning it to it's rightful place
the safety of her bossom, telling her tenderly,
he yet lives for you, his love for you dies not -

Pain

I have a pain so profound that I cannot name it.
I try to ignore it, but I’m forced to claim it.
It’s a gut wrenching sorrow that only grows
An affliction that absolute misery knows
There’s dejection in every breath that I take
And torment controls every move that I make
Love has abandoned me and pulverized my heart
Faith has done nothing but tear me apart.
My spirit is faded and my soul has turned bleak
I am forsaken by God and all that I seek
Despair has taken over my wretched being,
And blessings are something I’m not believing
My essence is distressed by everything that is
I’m demagnetized by all that the universe gives
It’s an existence of oppression on every plane
Like being institutionalized when you’re not insane
It’s a anguish so powerful my whole body will cry
A ruthless torture that begs my very being to die.

Speck

People walk in and out,
Through me, it seems,
My presence barely sensed.
I coil around the pain,
And recoiling I make my way out,
Heaving relief into the dark.
Around me, night crawls about like a baby,
The moon, with arms outstretched,
Cradles me gently, lovingly.
And feeling a large crack in the universe
I am swallowed whole
And taken home.

Once More

As the evening crept in
whisper of pines unfolded slowly another story,
every single instant seemed one decade;
unknown stars above blinking endlessly,
hand in hand ,our hearts unbridled themselves
and then escaped somewhere into darkness,
old moon unveiled the amazing mountains
every tree inundated by oozing silver;
under this autumn sky
enchanted by immense beauty
our speechless,unbounded moments
as four eyes met in love once more;
unabated passion about to explode moment
into fragments of pleasure
unlimited,boundless and never ending;
we inhaled fragrance of love
unfurling like a rose every second,
I thought of the universe for a moment
even though it seemed oblivion to us.
