Talk is not what I want right now,
now I have reached a precipice.
Precipice that can’t stay quiet,
quiet amped and tangled in talk.
Talk left knotted simply circles,
circles then loops over again.
Again we’ve come to a stalemate,
stalemate that disintegrates talk.
the public thoroughfare
pummeled, profaned
verbal fists rumble from
amped-up throats...
a generation or two
with nothing better to do
than scream at the intersection
of decline and decay
Surfing the tides of life
I'm still riding the waves duck diving my way through
Or occasionally having to ask for a hand and toe in when I need to,
Sometimes I'm amped and pop up and ride a perfect ten without any hassle,
I can make it, I'm charging, it's as if I'm a natural,
My eyes locked on that doggy door at the end of the barrel,
Other times the water is chop and nothing but aggro,
And honestly I end up bailing bro.
The waves are out of my control, all I can master is the technique to ride them,
How I pop up, my stance and how I manoeuvre within and around them,
And that my friend is life in a clam shell.
Sometimes you find a pearl and other times it's just an empty vessel.
Mobile ring tones at morning light,
disturb the shapes under covers,
the outlined echoes of last night,
two star-crossed microphone lovers,
drawn from opposite ends of town,
yesterday’s pub entertainers,
way on down at the Old Three Crowns,
they met singing Gloria Gaynor,
ramped and amped with emotion,
to songs that belonged in the haze,
now wake to face their commotion,
the music of separate ways.
The Rolling Stones were the bad boys
Amped-up volume, lyrics semi-obscene
Jimi Hendrix -- hypnotic, Frank Zappa -- psychotic
The Monkees? ~ Even their fingernails were clean
Auditioning for myself
the lights went down
the sound amped up
my head turned round
Auditioning for myself
the handbill flew
into the seats
the chosen few
Auditioning for myself
last line unread
the words reborn
inside my head
Auditioning for myself
I begged my leave
the stage door open
—a last reprieve
(Villanova Pennsylvania: September, 2020)
There is a guy named lance
who loved to dance
moved to America for his chance
off the molly he had ants in his pants
raves and rants
ecstasy cramps
drunken broken lamps
licking acid stamps
having sex with tramps
stuck in a trance
you see lance was from France
until he took an American stance
getting high off all types of plants
feeling like a champ
getting all amped
until one night he felt his shirt was damp
there was blood coming from his nose
his vision started to close
trance
lance lance wake up lance
he saw a bright light and a voice that said this is your last chance
guess what happened to lance
lance that loved to dance moved his ass back to France.
On Tour
To dive into the world of the great barrier reef would be enough
assimilating into the tranquil environment somewhere in the Capricorn
looking below while leaping merrily from a bluff
Like a babe in earth's womb, I am reborn.
Like a dart thrown on a map, may it land in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco
Among the snow-capped peaks, I'd breathe the air of eagles, frozen in awe
Wind whistling with legato, birds beneath quietly chirping their song in pizzicato
I would like nothing more than to remain here in this place, a place to withdraw.
Before I bounced from this terrestrial ball I'd have to party in Spain
One last hurrah flying first class to Ibiza
One last adrenaline rush, amped with red bull, taunting bulls with eyes bloodstained
One last expression from this American, perhaps a spending spree with a visa.
When the night has come and I should travel no more
Take me back home and bury me in earth's floor
16th March 2017 -Where I Want to Go contest entry
just driving freely
on a whim, i get on the highway
knowing and not knowing where it leads me
i just drive and drive
i ache for a new scene after sweating for peanuts in the same reality
friday afternoon and i just got paid
letting go of monotony's firm hold is like a certain feeling after getting laid
after a while, i see water
a nanosecond after that, i see blue skies
immediately following that, i see i am heading to some part of the coast
i am revived and revamped
outside i am cool and calm, but inside i am hyped up and amped
just driving freely
i am happily lost in the many scenes of amazement
i guess being sick and tired of being sick and tired drove me to this snap decision
on the other hand, i commence to snapping some more....and it feels like jazz....
....FREE jazz if ya dig me, daddyo....
I've got dirty demons creeping and crawling up and down my back
Always on the attack...with sticks and stones and bricks and bats
GET BACK!!!
Cause I've got mighty angels...they're resting on my shoulders
They're solid as rocks and stronger than boulders
Bent like a bow or straighter than an arrow
Through fiery darts and flaming anger still I walk along that path that's narrow
Free to fly like doves and sparrows
Walking with faith and I'm seeking Gods grace
I keep ridin with angels to the pearly gates
My God doesn't change like the wind and the weather
His song is the same...from yesterday into 4ever
No weapon formed against me shall prosper
Even when the wicked world comes hellbent, hideous, and hostile
And just like Lazarus I stay hazardous to evil as I rise from the grave
I keep ridin with angels to the pearly gates
In a lions den or a fiery furnace...they can't stop,slow down,or burn us
Once frightened...now enlightened
Once in the depths of darkness...now heavenly heightened
I'll say it again still amped and excited
Turning hate into love and fear into faith
I keep ridin with angels to the pearly gates
Staying at a Marriott,
You know just what you'll get.
In terms of cleanliness and style,
You have no need to fret.
The same applies to other chains -
It's comforting to find
The room decor and toiletries
Are what you had in mind.
But when you book a local inn,
It's always a surprise.
Descriptions of your room might clash
With what's before your eyes.
It may be better, may be worse,
But one thing is for sure;
It won't resemble any room
You've ever had before.
So play it safe or take a chance
But either way, relax;
When you're away, enjoyment should
Be amped up to the max.

Don't get distracted by the videogame
Distortion effect hollars
Slipping tricky thumbs bothered
By coin slip franchise misfits
Cops in collars, never bother
Blowing up stop signs and mail boxes
Skateboarding through town, shuffling around
Cocktails and marsupials
Grins that shegrin amped up
Plenitude posed as holy redeemer
Careful when you leave her
Heart balloons carry an ancient tune
Blessed in tombs, caressed
magnetic earth chanting
There's room to escape
Videogame rantings insane
Mosey along, the martyr strode
Mishmashed mouthpiece-
An emblem crusted implode
What struck him dusty-
A fanciful future
Rhymed in dust heaps
Communal swelling
The measure is conspicuous
We've been trained
To magnify the magician's farm
Glowing on the backs
Of extracted wealth
Misery soon follow
The amped up road rage
Within a city's targeted swallow
Makes motion corrosive
And divine beings, we ransack
For gas guzzling chase
All tongue-in-pie spasms
When magnetic plates quake
Find your parallel
If you can listen
The phonetic flowers drawn ghostly
No hurry
Just parasites to be buried
I don't quite get it
I can't quite follow your mind
I sit
and wait'
hand and foot for you
and you can't even remember a date
I sense your sly stealthiness
the day when you left me for good
doesn't come yet cause right now your before me
not even looking me in the eye
I almost despise you
if it wasn't for your money I'd sure be out
without a fuss,
without a single cuss
cause you just make me sick.
I thought I could work through the little things,
now you've forgotten and amped up the volume
I'm on mute,
with you as the remote
and you sit and gloat
on your sofa bed
cause I kicked you out of bed,
you're getting me so misread,
I've had enough of this
I can't even try or pretend I want to kiss
because I don't.
And maybe, just maybe
this is all for revenge
but with this intrigue
and a liaison at hand
I'm already gone
I have been for these whole 6 months
