Your Dilemma

“Please mind my kids as I go to the store. I cant take their naughtiness any more” “I need some money to put petrol in my car The amount that’s in it won’t get me far” “I am running late, quick can you give me a lift I forgot that today I am on the early shift” “I have to go out can you please iron my shirt Could you also sponge out that spot of dirt?” “Can I borrow some sugar and maybe some tea My cupboards are empty, as empty as can be” So now I found my answer to all of your woes Its really quite simple, this is the way it goes I am happy to do things or give you all a hand It's important you realize this and understand If you need something or are in a big hurry You must learn THAT’S IT'S NOT MY WORRY.

Boy, isn't this the truth Wendy! Reminds me of that platitude, "Poor planning on your part, does not necessitate an emergency on mine!" I, like you, am willing to lend a hand, unless it becomes habit with the askee. :)

Linda I have been trying to remember that saying, as I was thinking that my last line may have been part of that saying and didn't want it to be considered plagiarism. I am safe ! Thank you so much.

I agree with your words, Windy. It's nice to help others when they're in need, but not good to let other control your time or your emotions. I like helping people that are doing their best to help themselves and still need a little help from others. I also would rather help someone do something than just do it for them and rob them of the experience and growth of do the best one can. Thanks for sharing through your poetry. Firstly Bill, you wont be the only one to have called me Windy. My middle name is Gaye, and my brothers have called me Windy Day most of my life. Ok back to the poem, yes there has to be a limit to being a good Samaritan, cause if you make yourself a doormat, you have to get used to being stepped on. Thanks for your comment my friend.

Yes Terry I can relate. I make I my mind next time I don't want to go, or do something I will say NO, but it doesn't last long and I end up doing what pleases every one else but ME. We are just born suckers. Glad you enjoyed it.

I learned that quite late in life my friend. Once I was unable to offer 'help' they disappeared. I have never asked for help and now I don't give it unless it is well deserved. Thanks for comments Rico, I value your opinions. ( Hey go look at my comment to you on my poem Ben) :)

Not kidding one bit ! To name just 3 of your wonderful poems that have stuck in my head: Left to Perish, ..Light and Fluffy.,, I still need you... Each of these is worthy of acclaim.. and many many more you have written. Basic Poet ? I don't think so. I thought I was the only one that stopped reading a poem because I didn't understand it. Went right over my head.

Are you kidding Wendy you write so well….i love your poetry! I am just a basic poet…. Im no intellect so I just write from the heart. I read some poems and think how very beautiful it was but have no idea what it was actually about Ha ….completely over my head!! We are all different thank goodness….Debx

Thank you Deb, I wish I could write more like you and all the other good poets on here, with amazing descriptive passages. Maybe someday my muse will become more descriptive, but for now I am glad you like it as is.
