Constanza

When Yellow Moon, It rides The Sky

When yellow moon it rides the sky
And darkness it takes over night
I sit and watch it with delight

As daylight hours they pass on by
And only silence comes to be
Oh, how the stillness touches me

As kookaburra starts to cry
And all the night is laughing loud
The trees are hidden by dark shroud

Upon the ground the flowers lie
Lost within a murky darkness
My soul the darkness does caress

I love the mystery of I
I love the darkness. Yes I do
I love it when dawn comes through

I love it when the birds do cry
And opens brand new day again
These birds they sing a sweet refrain

When yellow moon it rides the sky
As daylight hours they pass on by
And Kookaburra he does cry
Upon the ground the flowers lie
I love the mystery of I
I love it when the birds do cry

You are so good with the flow, rhythm and rhyme in these works. I always enjoy reading them. I have seen a kookaburra once in a zoo. There is a song or a poem that I used to sing with my grandson about the kookaburra. Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree, merry, merry king of the bush is he, laugh kookaburra, laugh kookaburra, laugh. Thanks for stopping by. Sara

G'day Sara thank you for your kind comments, Yes I remember that song that we sang when I was a child in London town. We get those beautiful birds in the early mornings opening the day with their laughter. We do have some wonderful birds here where I live. I appreciate your nice words, my friend....peter
