We Will Celebrate
When it's all over we will celebrate,
We will be Covid 19 survivors,
Maybe we'll hold a party in the street,
"Open House," with people milling around,
Once "social distancing is in the past,
And we can all start living normal lives.
The corona virus has changed our lives;
When the threat has gone we will celebrate,
We will exchange tales of the recent past,
Now that we are the lucky survivors,
Plenty of drink will be handed around,
When we all get together on the street.
There hasn't been much gossip in the street,
We have all been leading such quiet lives,
There haven't been any children around,
But now they can help us celebrate,
They too are gallant little survivors
Of this odd situation in our past.
We will all have memories of that past,
When we all had to stay in off the street.
We were determined to be survivors,
So we had to lead much different lives,
But we all hoped that we would celebrate,
We hoped that we would all still be around.
When we go out we will take a look around,
To see what may have changed from in the past,
When the time comes for us to celebrate,
When we all come outdoors onto the street,
To chat about what's happened in our lives,
Now that we are sure to be survivors.
We will call ourselves "The Great Survivors,"
And stories of lost jobs will pass around,
Now that those jobs are back in all our lives,
Now that all the worry is in the past,
And once again it is a happy street,
Where we are in the mood to celebrate.
Survivors will gather round in the street
To celebrate returning to our lives,
Coming through an extraordinary past.
