____________________________________________________________________

With the wind at my back, I made my way With a hope and a prayer, from Baker's Bay In a run for my life, fleeing the law Injustice indeed was the final straw My sin...to drift in uncharted water To fall in love with a white man's daughter Forbidden to wed, Oh! The tears she shed When the fruit of our love in fear was bleed And she, Malinda, the love of my life Fell still to the cut of the butcher's knife Enforced by shame and her family creed She endured their will and their evil deed So I chose to weather the raging storm Refusing to live in a life of scorn Choosing to come to the end of the line With the will and the way that is mine

Such still happens in 2020, for reasons that are not reasons, irrespective of religion or whatever. People should be allowed to be with whom they want to be. Will I be around to see an earthling in a relationship with an alien, I hope so, purely to see the disgust of people. Lovely, but sad little piece Elaine, James :)

A great take on this photo... So many prefer the odds against living a life of scorn... This will definitely relate to many in life..

I hear even in modern times this kind of thing happening to some women in the world. Just horrible.

Reading between the lines, I suppose he got his revenge before he left.... against them who killed his love of life. Either way, so sad, but it does happen.

A sad tear jerking story/poem told so eloquently Elaine. People in love should be free to live and love with whoever their other half may be. A wonderful write. Belle
