The Witches Have Gone

The witches have gone, back into the gloom, At the last having fun bewitching a tomb, They have had their way for another year, Poisoning the atmosphere, Like a nasty vapour sprayed round a room. Yes, each of them has mounted her broom, With each a familiar, we can assume, When the time came to disappear, The witches have gone. No doubt they'll be back with more tidings of doom, Mouthing their spells as they grumble and fume, They love to create an aura of fear, Watching their victims weep as they sneer, Next year the pantomime will resume: The witches have gone.
