The Rich and The poor

The rich and the poor

I sit here alone
And I think to myself
About all this garbage
Mankind, he calls wealth
And whether it’s worth much
Is it at all?
When there be something other
 Far more beautiful.

I’ve looked at the rich men
I’ve looked at the poor
The poor, they get hungry
And this be for sure
But what hasn’t blessed them
They don’t ever miss
Yet with the rich people
That’s not how it is.

They hold on like Pitbulls
Don’t want to let go
Cause deep in their cold hearts
Each one of them knows
That someone might take it
This wealth that they own
So, with more possessions
Their fear it has grown.

Yet the poor man has high hopes
And has all his dreams
And sees so much beauty
As everything gleams
Because when you own it
It just becomes ‘yours!!’
Yet love lies in freedom
And will evermore.

Money is not everything, for sure, my friend. I do feel sorry for people who think it the be-all and end-all, for it is such a small component in a satisfactory life.

G'day Caren when I watch the rich, I never see smiles on their faces, so it can't be that the money gives them much pleasure. I get a nice little pension from the repat, and that's all I need. That pension that they have given me is the only good thing that came from Vietnam. Thank you for your kind comments, my friend....Peter
