Spiders and Flies

The flies On the walls In my mind Are the arbiters Of my life They See both sides They decide Those flies Decide what’s right They multiply By 1000’s Every Day and Every night Those flies On the walls On the walls In my mind The spiders They know The truth They consume The flies To reproduce I provide The flies they use There’s no excuse To hide from the truth The flies, they know The spiders know All about you The web Like glue Cleansing truth The flies On the walls In my mind Decide what’s right The spiders Come along Eight legs strong And consume Your decisions at night And in the day Flies lay their eggs In the spoils That remain Blood and bone And skin is shorn Like wool From a sheep Hair from a babe
