When I was a kid Mom would say 'go play' So, I would get on my bike And be gone all day Pinball first at 7 Eleven Then head to the park Didn't think about home Till it started getting dark Maybe hang in the hood Hide & seek or some kickball Lost in serious play Till I'd hear my mom call

Wasn't life great back then? I couldn't wait to get outdoors each day. Partly because I wanted to explore the world and partly because if I stayed in my Mum would "find something for me to do". Your poem made me think back and smile :)

Ah. The good old days before helicopter parenting. At our cabin in the woods, for fun, we walk miles into the forest and then try to find our way home. We would be gone all day and our parents never said a thing. Have a great day.

A cabin in the woods? You must have been a city slicker. lol. I think our parents were secretly hoping we wouldnt come back at the end of the day. :) Thanks David
