Oh My Stars

 Reginald opens the fridge and takes a look inside. There is a 
 half eaten tub of margarine two eggs and half a loaf of bread. 
 Not exactly enough to lend out to the poor, maybe the mice?
 Slathering a smudge of peanut butter over a slice of Weston 
 he rolls it up and wolves it down. He then opens the closet
 door and plucks out his painting gear. He's got
 a paint job over on 64th street. Mrs. Jolerd needs her living 
 room painted. He shows her the swatches and she picks a 
 lovely shade of blue. Often when he paints he daydreams 
 of laying by the ocean with a beautiful girl by his side. It 
 helps the day go faster. Normally he always does what the 
 customer asks for. Today he feels reckless so he decides to add
 a background view to the living room wall. Trees mountains a 
 fading sunset, etc. When Mrs. Jolerd enters the room she stops 
 in front of the mural and exclaims "Oh My Stars! Young man, 
 what have you done to my living room?" Reggie holds his breath.
 Tonight he's either going to eat pizza for diner or he's gonna 
 eat them last two eggs, with a dab of tabasco of course. He waits.
 "I love it. It makes me feel like I'm in a forest. " She squints a little 
 and then adds, "It kind of looks like the forest my gramps took me 
 to when I was little." She pays him his money and then gives him 
 a hug. She smells of dried lavender and a hint of peppermint oil. 
 That night he feasts on pizza while reading a passage from Beata's 
 old bible. 
 1 Chronicles 29:3-5
 "In my delight in the house of my God, the treasure I have of gold and silver, I give to the house of my God, over and above all the gold of Ophir, and 7,000 talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the buildings; that is, for all the work done by a craftsmen who then is willing to consecrate himself this day to the LORD?" 
 He lies on his bed and sighs, ..
