Am I superstitious? No, I say,
but I read a true story today
about famed classical musicians*
whose demise birthed a superstition.
Each composed nine symphonies—JUST nine!
Therefore, some composers are inclined
to stop with the eighth composition.
Superstitions can quell ambitions
and foil the most creative missions.
*I found these listed: Beethoven, Bruckner, Dvorak, and Mahler.
