Lorikeets, and Cockatoo's

Lorikeets, and Cockatoos

Those Lorikeets are here again
All dressed in splendid hues
They sing to us noisy refrain
Their heads are a wondrous blue
Yellow collars belly’s red
They feed among the trees
Eating all the mulberry’s
They’re wonderful to see

Then the black birds fly on over
These splendid Cockatoos
They bring their drama from the sky
I love those fellows too
They look so big, and oh so grand
As their cries, they deafen me
Oh my, these birds are so alive
And oh, so very free

They land upon the Banksia trees
And they do create a mess
Ripping the trees of all their fruit
They’re destructive I confess
But all these birds they captivate me
I’m glad that they live here
Australia is so filled with beauty
I hold this place so dear
