Le Coucher du Soleil Romantique

" Le coucher du soleil romantique " poème de Charles Baudelaire *Charles Baudelaire translated poem* How fair is the fresh rise of the sun beam Bursting with shine sending a warm greeting And whoever can hail his grand setting Is blessed with love better than a dream I recall all, flower, source and furrow That swoon at his sight like a pulsing heart Let's run to skyline, it's late, let's run fast Just to catch a sideway ray of its glow Ah,! vainly, i track a God that recedes The certain night with power besieges Dark, sweaty sinistre, and full of woe A fetid scent of graves in darkness, swims I sprain my timid foot, in boggy rims, Unforecast toads, and the frozen snails grow

Translation is also your forte, Hamid.. a wide knowledge and a gift of a profound perception of the world of poetry.. You allow your avid reader to revel in the beauty of great poetry in both languages.. I salute your endeavours to instil the essence of Romanticism in your avid readers' heart and mind.. An amazing rendition stamped by your true feelings.. My deepest regards. Blessed be always.

Much obliged to you Besma.Such heavy praise on my skinny back, might make it crumble like a paper castle.. We are still grope for the thin thread of knowledge and poetry, each time a poem is written, a flaw is being seen and detected.. hope we don't fail our dear friends and avid faithful readers and fellow poets.Happy forever and blessed as the words said on my person !

Wow, nicely penned, Hamid. This wonderful poem is quite popular among Russian interpreters (I saw at least five translations), but this is the first English translation I've read and found it successful: the architectural and contextual structure of the original is preserved. I do respect the work you did: poetic translation is devilishly hard work. I wouldn't dare translating Baudelaire into my native language, let alone English.

Thanx heaps, dear fellow; i have tens of French and Arabic poetry been translated into English, and have strived hard to keep the original mood and atmosphere, i preserved the sonnets forms in almost all poems. Next time i am going to repost Paul Verlaines's" The Shepherd's hour " Stay blessed , thanks a lot for the nice visit.Hamid
