As independence hones rebellion’s spear,
the time has come for severance of ties.
The King’s response is but a callous jeer
that seals the fate of civil compromise.
“Tis now the time we join to take a stand
and disengage the shackles of the throne.
A parchment sworn, administered by hand
so self-declared shall soon to all be known
A quorum formed, intent to be of five
shall state all valid reasons to secede,
a single voice in unison shall strive
to frame intentions through this formal creed.
So let it be this will not be denied,
for such dissension stains the royal pride.
For such dissension stains the royal pride.
When subjects veer, forgetting of their place,
the disregard is deference denied
that shadows dear ole’ England in disgrace.
“Tis but a snub to splinter from the source
that subsidized the whims of surly wile
and then to face dishonor of divorce
through dissidence, intent to render rile.
But so it was that independence roared
in due response to royalty’s reply,
and chide attempts to circumvent discord,
the monarchy emphatically defy.
Rebellion’s aim intends to persevere
though England’s king has sent a message clear.
Though England’s king has sent a message clear,
this writ of freedom shall not be deterred,
through faith in God and by His hand we steer
this mighty pen, projecting ev’ry word.,
No more shall be the tethering of fees
that fill the coffers of the greedy crown,
no more shall hail the crippling decrees,
intent to keep this insurrection down.
Within the writ, each grievance stood alone
to consecrate the reasons for dissent,
and once abridged, delivered to the thrown
as signatures declared devout consent.
Though independence and the King collide,
your liberty awaits the other side.
Your liberty awaits the other side
of dominance that binds the rights of man,
for freedom’s claim is handed down in stride
and thus, abides within His given plan.
And all pursuits of happiness shall be
self-evident as providence defined,
for God above has deemed his subjects free
and thus, our mortal King shall do in kind.
But deeded script, deleted from demands,
an effigy that held the King at fault,
confirmed to all that servitude still stands
but hides behind the words that you exalt.
Beneath the words that frame a given right,
deceit abides as freedom rears to fight.
Deceit abides as freedom rears to fight,
for thralldom tends the fortunes that you wield.
It seeds the rows and wallows in the blight
of servitude to glean the ripened field.
It mills the corn and scythes the fertile grass
then bides among the ruminants you keep.
It bears the weight for all that you amass
and never shares the blessings that you reap.
Let not your greed deceive this noble stand,
such non-admission leaves you incomplete,
for letting silence circumvent your plan
is typical of piety’s conceit.
Hypocrisy shall lend all to ordain
the autocrats that shackle you in chains.
The autocrats that shackle you in chains,
reflect in you the sin you so defy.
Is one the lessor man when pure disdain
determines worth when color meets the eye?
Are not suppression’s trepidation bonds as taught
as thralldom’s chains, attributed by God?
For such a bane pertains to wealth so sought
thus, leaving freedom’s declaration flawed.
So, let be known your words include all men
when ink inscribes the course of this event,
for ruthless gain shall fracture you within
if bigotry is what you represent.
Let declaration lead all to unite,
hold fast against the hypocritic spite.
Hold fast against the hypocritic spite,
build not this nation on immoral ground,
lend not to gains that tether souls to blight,
but tend to mores that make a union sound.
Hold fast to virtues, relevant to man
of any hue that renders to the cause,
and preen its words so goodness shall withstand
and latitude to remedy its flaws.
A parchment sworn shall signify to all
a fledgling union, yearning to be free,
and by this creed so signed within this hall
an independent nation comes to be.
Within its frame, a tolerance remains
to obviate such eminent constrains.
