Half-hearted snow

Snowflakes. Fragments of dreams, Swirl non-committally. Will they settle, or fade away? Who knows. Shovel. Sadly untouched, Standing expectantly. Will it finally have its day? Doubt it. Children. Hope boiling over, Planning epic snow-fights. Will their school be closed tomorrow? No chance.

Nina, I would LIKE this situation you describe now that I am old and have to drive in snow, but I like how you showed the sadness in it for the shovel and the school kids!! This is very well crafted poetry and you are a fine craftsman!! (woman!)

Thank you Andrea; what a compliment coming from you! Well, this is the ultimate example of “tempting fate” - we are snowed in today - most snow I’ve seen for years!!

We never really get snow here in Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire either, even now there is nothing.. but very cold..

I know how you feel, we're on the Cotswolds edge in Worcestershire surrounded by hills and rarely get a decent snowfall but from what they're predicting I might have to eat by words tomorrow.Hard to believe when you see the news people up to their necks in it lol. Tom

Charming poem, Nina. Interesting to see it from the perspective of awaiting and hopeful children. Well done.

Thank you Line! And don’t forget the oft-forgotten perspective of the shovel ;-)
