God's Not Fair

Rather than destroy His creation
on sinful road to eternal damnation,
He forged a plan for our salvation.
God’s not fair.

He left heaven’s glory to come to earth,
experienced lowly stable birth,
esteeming wayward man of worth.
God’s not fair.

Allowed Himself to be beaten and led
to that cruel cross where He hung and bled
making the choice to die in your stead.
God’s not fair.

Suspended in pain, in shame and disgrace,
receiving sharp blows and spit on His face
paying the debt for the human race.
God’s not fair.

He will put people in your path
to share His Word, which can save you from wrath,
even though some choose to scorn, mock or laugh.
God’s not fair.

He took your sin and gladly did bear it
and made a way that you could be filled with His Spirit,
though some close their hearts and don’t want to hear it.
God’s not fair.

If surrendering to Him you choose to delay,
and you’re not ready come judgment day,
gone is the chance for you to say
God’s not fair!

Thought-provoking and a clever use of repetition in line 4 of each verse makes a powerful impact.Well done!
