Dear friend
Dear friend,
There’s a sadness, when, you have to face
a future without the one you planned
Someone asking” How are you?” with grace
And you answer”, Fine I swear, grand”
Looked into your eyes; see the struggle piled
Trying to fake a smile and then saying
I will get through this, it may take awhile
I understand the pain; praying
But you feel the pain is yours, alone to keep
Why do we hang onto something that we know
we’re better off letting go of; pain seeps
Scared to lose something that’s not ours; let go
So, we torture ourselves slowly, listening to songs
that make you cry. Over thinking situations
we cannot change, even if we long
Reliving moments that we can never touch again
You have to control your own self, my friend
I know you want to contact them, to tell them
you love them and miss them; love send
How you want to work things out, not to end
But it’s better leaving things in the past
Let go and cut all communication with them
Sometimes, that is the only way to move on
Is by Breaking your own heart, my friend.
