craving for marigolds

Somewhere
sequestered in
their twilight of
slumber, conjuring
colors in the womb
of the palette

hush now
my little ones
the rain plays its
lullaby, seeding
the earth below

as the springtime
preamble, brings
the may day revival

for now, a mixed
metaphor, as the
ice waits the rainbow's
thaw

while the soup stirs an
alphabet, the poem
of a heart's lament

in this famine of flower fields
as I'm craving the marigolds

Beautifully written poem, Elsa. I always look forward to the marigolds and all the other pretty flowers being reborn in the spring.

Beautiful poem, Esla. Marigolds, tulips, dandelions, I don't care what blooms first. Just let Old Man Winter leave as soon as possible (lol) Very well done. ~Charlie
