B4 Peace Resumed Her Sway
Autumn leaves swish in spirals as the bitter wind carries them
Branches and twigs crackle as they are caught in the mayhem,
Whoosh, they fly about in the turbulent sky and bash to the ground
Swirling they take off in a flash and then settle with a rustling sound.
The whispering wind sweeps a shivery veil across my form
And I stand icy cold and defiantly I wait for the storm
I watch as wrens dart around the falling leaves and enjoy a romp
Warning them of the approaching danger my feet begin to stomp
Booming thunder can be heard far off to the east
It won’t be a safe place to be out tonight for man or beast
Dazzling light overwhelms the sky as the lightning strikes
Heavy showers form oozing mud that now covers my Nikes
Pelting rain begins to fall and each droplet lands with a splash
Its time to flee inside as huge hailstones begin to thump and crash.
