A Wonderful Christmas
Church services are held to celebrate,
in song and sermon, the Messiah’s birth.
To save our souls and live inside our hearts
is why our God Incarnate came to Earth.
The Christmas trees in homes are grand displays,
surrounded by the toys old Santa brought.
The family enjoys a scrumptious spread.
The day provides the joy each member sought.
Excited carolers proclaim both sides
of Christmas as they sing “O Holy Night,”
“The First Noel,” “White Christmas,” “Let It Snow,”
and “Jingle Bells” beneath the street lamps’ light.
In shelters, volunteers provide hot meals
for those in need, who then may choose from shelves
of blankets, coats, and gloves. The donors show
they care; they love their neighbor as themselves.
