Aphrodite's seven veils over the morning ocean mist
Seven aquamarine stones, all gifts from the dream lords
Seven victorious dolphins have bargained with the Fates

A tabula rasa

You were looking for a hidden cabala behind my leaving
A white rose blooming out of the ashes of good-byes
Not knowing another man in black was calling to me

The seeds planted under the moonlight have grown
A glorious sun babe was born and he was destined to atone

They sought me out in a land so far away from the sea
And pronounced a strange destiny to me
Amidst cornflower fields, church ruins, sites of saints
Vanishing into thin air. I didn't want to be dovelike

I liked the sound of howling wolves in the wintry wilderness
One night a red fox came to the porch
We looked at each other at the threshold of life and death

A few days later they pulled my body out of a disembowelled
Grave of steel, miraculously unharmed
None of it mattered to the snow gently falling
Over the black, bone-strewn earth hiding entire
Decimated towns. The skeletons kept dancing under the hills

A white rose did bloom. I knelt by the graves and the old oak

There is such a fantastical feeling to this, and yet honest feelings that could belong to all of us. A poetic masterpiece Diana.
