Brilliant it blossoms,
Struggle and cry out for help.
Shattered,
But alive.

Willingness forgotten,
Try to huddle as would a whelp.
I'm not flattered,
But I survived.

Killing season,
More losses,
Mother may not recognise my yelp.
Not everyone has heard,
Feels like everyone scattered,
I conceded to the night cries.

Premium Member I Need To Reach That Phone

I need to reach that phone box pleaded a girl at the station.
Many adults walked around her, but no one offered help.
Along came a little boy, a rascal, a neighbor, not a friend, a whelp.
He immediately became her stepstool without a second’s hesitation.

Pelts

5/31/22

Dealt continual pelts
Leading to welts
Speed kills so always put on a seat belt
Misunderstood and not being felt
Close and far from Elk
Above fields of kelp
Whelp
I thought I needed to yelp for help
But I had to focus on health
And wealth
It was in the best interest for myself
Meanwhile the ice shelf
Continues to melt
Way below an Asteroid Belt
It's like a free-for-all everybody for themselves
Near an ocean full of shells
Occasionally there is a ring from bells
And folks tossing coins into wells
Making wishes, but not all do tell
They end up doing swell
Or from grace they fell
Inside a cell
Is where they now dwell
Causing a terrible smell
What the hell
I need to yell
And cast a spell
So that I can quell
Instead of trying to sell
My soul for money and ending up in hell
Another computer made by Dell
Another win instead of another L

Premium Member Oh They Are Not So Unassuming

I went out one night;
folks say they don’t bite,
but grabbing the banister,
I slapped my hand upon one.
No, the experience was not fun
for the mantis nor me,
this painful whelp I cannot relieve!

My pet Gekko Little Elk,
in his tank on the shelf,
got his own terrible fright one night.
with a mantis he tangled,
and ended up mangled;
and his tail didn’t grow back right.

My cat jack chasing a mouse;
I’d prefer he’d chase grouse,
stuck his nose in hole in the ground.
Imagine my scowl,
when he let out a yowl,
mantis claws converted nose to ground-round.

Premium Member Dinner At Grandmas

The pork chops were ten meters thick.
The gravy was never lumpy, always totally slick.
Grandma’s kitchen had smells found nowhere else ever.
She was fantastic with food, surprisingly witty and clever.

Her dishes were plain, blue and white, with a scene inside.
They were scrubbed thoroughly by my Uncle Malcom McBride.
He had never married, which is why we usually had a female guest.
He had seven sisters; do I need to add on the rest?

Grandma would include anyone who wanted to come in and help.
We started carrying platters of croissants and rolls as a young whelp.
Cinnamon sugar pie crust was sitting on the back porch all the time.
To get to it we walked through smells of pumpkin, sage, peach and lime.

Grandma’s pies were in place, but we knew the absolute rule.
To take one before dinner would be death to that fool.
Amid giant platters of potatoes, corn, roast beef, in this fragrant place,
We all sat down together, and waited while grandma said grace.

Premium Member Big Enough

Big Enough . . .

This world is big enough for all of us
If we give each other a fair thought,
Commit to living without much fuss:
Killing hate, with which it is fraught.

This world would be a better place
If the wealthy offered genuine help;
Not with some Greek gift mask his ace
And gnaw at the poor like a whelp.

The streets would be more secure
If we jointly defended the freedoms,
Making our intolerance more obscure
Across tribes, races, and kingdoms.

This world would have fewer hungry
If we ate less and reduced waste,
A lot more happy and lot less angry,
Most with less width at the waist.

Our Earth would have more health
If we each planted a flower or a tree;
The needy are paid by those with wealth
To go on a sustained planting spree.

Our humanity can change the world
Only if we all honestly discuss
And realize as its power is unfurled
This world is big enough for all of us!

Premium Member Lee and Her Assistant

Lee marginalized her assistant’s help.
Just a beginner, a bit of a whelp.
The assistant is queen.
Admired and seen.
And Lee’s at the fish market, selling kelp.

Pain Is There

for the pain is there so i feel
i know for the cut is real

it covers the past like a blanket
for if i don't cut i won't forget it

tried drugs and alcohol
but they did not do anything at all

thought taking my life would help
but they ended up saving this whelp

i had nobody who could of saved me
when i told i unfortunately became a detainee

started getting crafty with each cut
pin strip lines, art somewhat

now i am 58 and my life is new
don't know, how i grew

but i was able to talk about the abuse
and in my heart i made a truce

i was able to forgive the predator
and fall in love with my creator

not saying that this will work for you
but today i am nobodies fool

The Big Cat

The big cat
It was a brilliant day, summer lasted long
in the rustic landscape, I lived, when I saw a cat
in the yellowing grass, no it was not an ordinary cat,
but a cheetah, it had been running after cars not
quite catching any, and now it was tired.
The car had no air condition all windows were open
the cat vanished from view when there was
a commotion in the back, the cheetah had grabbed
my old dog and run away, into the bushes.
I was consoled by the thought my dog had put up a heroic
Fight before the cat ate it.
My neighbour gave me whelp this helped me, dazed
as I was by my grief.

Premium Member Clark Came Courting Loralei

Loralei’s green eyes flickered in the dark,
Noticed by males, especially Clark.

She captivated him in every way.
He reminisced about her most of the day.

Truth told, she was totally unaware.
Of his bold prowess, and that he did care.

He came courting and met her stout brothers.
Her grandma and one of her stepmothers.

They put him to work on the family farm.
Let him feed the bull without any harm.

Loralei noticed he was lots of help.
He was strong too, not like a little whelp.

Loralei and Clark promptly fell in love.
A blissful marriage honored from above.

Premium Member My Dear Friends Kept Me Alive

A one and a two and a three four five.
I was dead, now I’m more than half alive.
I had given up; I had lost my jive.
I was hopeless, helpless, self-magnified.

I picked myself up with my dear friends help.
They believed in me, dug me out of kelp.
They rinsed me off. I was a sorry whelp.
I screamed a bit after the initial yelp.

If they had not believed I could
It would have been hard, it truly would.
They surrounded me as saviors should
Full of spiritual caring and lots of good.

Premium Member Old Red Noses Decoration

Harry had a dog, Old Red
his hobby, treeing squirrels.
One day Harry’s garden was, assaulted
by squirrels with tails a’twirl.

Now Old Red didn’t tolerate
any squirrels stealing nuts;
He decided he would set straight
that squirrel’s, thieving butt.

Old red took a jump and chased
that thief with Harry’s food;
he had decided to erase
Mr. Squirrel’s stealing mood.

But, squirrels are tough rascals
Old red let out a yelp;
Harry had to cackle,
at the sight of giant nose whelp.

Old Red’s pride was hurt,
of that there is no doubt.
Squirrel eventually became dessert;
Red wears a smiling snout.

Wulf and Eadwacer

Wulf and Eadwacer
ancient Anglo-Saxon poem
loose translation by Michael R. Burch

My clan's curs pursue him like crippled game;
they'll rip him apart if he approaches their pack.
It is otherwise with us.

Wulf's on one island; we're on another.
His island's a fortress, fastened by fens. (fastened=secured)
Here, bloodthirsty curs howl for carnage.
They'll rip him apart if he approaches their pack.
It is otherwise with us.

My heart pursued Wulf like a panting hound,
but whenever it rained—how I wept!—
the boldest cur grasped me in his paws:
good feelings for him, but for me loathsome!

Wulf, O, my Wulf, my ache for you
has made me sick; your seldom-comings
have left me famished, deprived of real meat.

Have you heard, Eadwacer? Watchdog!
A wolf has borne our wretched whelp to the woods!
One can easily sever what never was one:
our song together.

Premium Member The Beats of Jungle Love--

It's within my constitution, to be released of this concrete jungle;
The hope of love, hopes of love;
Echo sounds of ordinary rambles in this jungle;
Sensual love but of none but you, I'm true, sure;
Safari greenery animal sprees I'm your Tarzan, you'll be my Jane;
Dissociation with humanity we shall contain;
Humbly within this abode, I abode as we stroll;
Dreams of associations nightmare tolls;
Differences in city and jungle love;
Kangaroo's teaching us urban dance, the bunny hops;
May this jungle love never stop;
We see the lioness came up, bitterly lamented the death of her whelp;
Elephants sprinkling water from their spouts;
Sensual love but of none but you, I'm true;
Sensual beats the drums of jungle love;
