Walk On Air Poems | Examples

Kisses

You never hit me but you still left wounds
Wounds that lasted longer than you stuck around
Cuts that bled for months
A heart that took years to heal was all I was left with

But somebody came around and started patching me up
He put bandaids on all of my scrapes and cuts
He kissed each tear away

He asked to see all of me
And unlike you he didn’t just mean naked.
He wanted me to show him the parts of me that I hid from the world
He traced his finger over every stretch mark
He kissed every scar

He tells me I’m beautiful
He makes me feel like I walk on air
He shows me a love I have never experienced

Premium Member The Road Not Spoken

Like manna from the morning dew
Like sugared skin I'm sweet on you
In silence on this road alone
No hint of contemplation shown
And if the day should ever come
To have you as my chosen one
I'd walk on air, I'd float on sand
My all I'd give to hold your hand
I'd play my song in to your soul
An echo of a heart made whole

Enough

There was a time
when we walked on air.
You have to be young to walk on air
younger than the first taste of red lips
but older than any fairy tale,
yes, much older.
Love is timeless
or perhaps time is loveless,
yet we keep trying
to nail it to a broken barn door
as if we had words
new enough, or wisdom
deep enough.

Divine Aid

A deep valley between of us
No possible way to her,
She said "It's all finished,"
"Humans rarely walk on air."
Down there among savage stones
All alone was a wooden boat,
I left nothing untried
Night was devouring the light,
Dusk till dawn I was weeping
But she seemed to be sleeping,
A heavenly voice stroke my ears
"I fill this valley with your tears."
In a sudden the boat was drifting on water
"Here you have the way, real lover."
I rowed across with a burning heart
Could hardly see, my eyes blind,
Only footprints, she was gone
Since then I only got the love of God.

Premium Member Ground Level

Sometimes you can reach high of highs
or touch bottom low of lows
what you do when you reach a point
is up to you

you can carry on with life
 being positive+++
or drown in self pity
 being negative---

you can pick yourself up
or drag yourself down
drowning in despair

life can bring happiness
 you walk on air
 without a care

what goes up comes down
what goes down comes up
it is in finding the middle
between the depths of the ocean
and the heights of heaven
we have to find ground level.

Walk On Until You Walk On Air

Walk on
Even when the wind is against you
Walk on
Even when the horizon evades you

To stumble is not to fall
To fall is not to be fallen
To mumble is not to call
To whisper is not to be silenced

Prepare for dust and ash
To lose is not to be forsaken
Invite every weight of life
To carry it, is not to be laden

Strength comes with every burden
Clarity comes with every distance
Fold your sleeves for every battle
Find a voice under the muzzle

As destiny nears, the long walk hastens
A sprint into the fate of tenacity
The run will drift on seas and oceans
Until you embrace your deserved destiny

Walk on
In the deep sands and thick mud, do not despair
Walk on
Keep walking until you walk on air

THE REAL YOU

Who do you think you are, tell me.
The way you throw your weight around
a handleless hammer I see,
unstruck nails are all on the ground.

Smart behemoth you walk on air.
Who do you think you are, tell me,
wearing musk of a billionaire,
life’s storm grinds your face in debris.

Though you show off poet’s pedigree
your poems grow in marsh like weeds.
Who do you think you are, tell me
poet laureate’s poems who reads.

A nice net of fake love you lay,
for me you go on shopping spree.
Deceiving you can’t get away,
who do you think you are, tell me.

Premium Member We Walk On Air

Romantic evening arrived with reason
Reveling outdoors frolicking in fun
Enchanting lovers in blooming season
As you entered with glory of the sun

Sitting on sandy beach holding your hand
Blue moon I witnessed romancing your eyes
Shining intently glimmering your sand
Inviting my vibes to reach for the prize

You found the courage to conquer the tides
Charming blue waters fervently divine
Lifting my emotions where passion rides
Revealing glimpses of sensual sign

Courting amorous winds we walk on air
With avid glare, beaming romantic flare

My Winter

My eyes went searching for my frosted window,
'O' the joy of seeing the color white,
As my nerves stand while the wind blows,
Showing all it's chilly might.

The vehement fire blazing warm,
As I immerse into my chair,
And it's beautiful poesy form,
Elates me to walk on air.

A book I read to follow,
For my morning of delight,
Might my words not be shallow,
To end my winter sight.

Premium Member City Creatures

I’ve realized after living for so many years
That sometimes taking a life isn’t something you choose.
I walk through the streets of the city with no fears
Of retribution from the creatures beneath my shoes.

If it were possible, I would leave them all alone,
But there are just too many of them living out there.
It seems like most of them don’t even have a home.
To avoid killing them, you would have to walk on air.

I know that they are necessary for us to survive,
But I’m just not a fan of the ugly, creepy, little things.
The more people there are, the better they thrive.
At best annoying, at worst, scary to us human beings.

Apollo's Pen

I had always loved that cloth called smile
So pure n immaculate on a newborn
It didn't make a slave a slave
All I wanted was to sew for others

What if my breath could birth good melody?
And my lungs could air euphonious octaves?
I'd really pleasure making Nightingales timid
And to beguile mortals with my dauntless vocal cords

I could be more deep with my expression
Set my mind free n paint it for the world
Colour my universe with my passion
All I wanted was to bring me to cosmos

Only if my feet were not this strict
And my waist n loins were a bit lax
I'd gladly obey the drum's call
And make these knees talk

But Apollo gave me his pen
And my ink never dried up
Perhaps hope didn't go to oblivion
All he wanted was a dinner with me

I could make my heart sing
And make mortals' minds canvas
So I could make the slave walk on air
And my mind could dance to poetry's beat
All with this pen

Keep me off your mind in other words don’t mind me

Because when you were always on my mind your mind was on other things

And now that you’re off my mind you finally realized what you were missing

No wait, what you ignored because while I had a fairy tale plan in store, you wanted to write your own story and in this story I’m the floor

No respect but needed and walked all over

Over and over we’re over no more

P.S. I hope you can walk on air

Premium Member The Seed

Someone left a seed to grow
on barren fertile land.
From seed to tree
for you and me
Its beauty our command.

Someone planted grape vines
along a broken fence.
Now our glasses bubble
with fragrant effervesce.

I see waves of rye and wheat
dancing in bright sun.
Someone plowed those fields for us,
food for everyone.

Sun and sky and clouds above,
who placed those wonders there?
No one standing on this earth
dare try to walk on air.

Moon and stars and lightning bolts,
silver way on high!
What amazing majesty
just to please our eye.

So who then took their time for this?
Does anybody know?
Let me think with all my might.
No one I think—although.....

I Was Happy

My eyes jumped open in eagerness.
My lips sprung apart in awe.
My mouth extended from cheek to cheek.
It was like the letter “U” was slapped onto my face.
My cheeks bunched up because of my wide grin.
My stomach tingled with excitement.
My eyebrows shot up to my forehead.
My hair stood on end from the exhilaration.
I felt as if I could walk on air because of the adrenaline.
I have never felt like this before.
My face burst with joy.
I could hardly stand still.
My body filled with delight.
I felt fortunate, lucky and favorable.
It was like I was the sunshine on a stormy day.
I was happy.

I Walk On Air

I walk on air
I walk on water
I walk on clouds
I walk on sand
I walk the earth
I walk with you
Hand in hand

Soul to soul
Together, we are
Alive, free
Of fear
Of inhibition
Of failure
Of loss

No fear of pain
Just pure love
We gaze at each other
Spirits in unison
Together once more
To walk once again
Hand in hand
Towards the light
With you
I walk on air
