THE SILENT KISS

The quiet between us settles into light,
a hush that weighs more than any word ever spoken
Your breath leans closer as if to speak my name.
Yet nothing breaks the air, no sound is heard.

A shaking pause: 
time loosens its embrace,
the fading light leans in,
holding our hearts in place,
I feel a promise hover on my lips,
a secret

When the vow breaks

There's a quiet kind of ache,
deeper than any silence I've known.
It sits inside, a heavy stone,
a loneliness that lives and makes
its home where two souls are meant to be one.
This is the loneliness of being married.

Of sharing walls, a daily spread,
a bed where two bodies are laid.
But still feeling unseen, a hidden shade.

Our Better Angels

The polished floor reflects a moonlit gleam,
A silent chapel holding a dark dream.
I etched my plea into a cold white tile,
A fragile hope against a coming wile.
But from the smooth surface, a form takes hold,
A sister to the stories left untold.
Her eyes, like shards of glacial ice, are keen,
Reflecting landscapes desolate and mean.

May we forever be lovers,
May we forever be friends,
And should we hurt each other,
May we quickly make amends.

May we enjoy our passion,
But never let compassion die,
Thinking in selfless terms as we,
Never emphasising I.

May we forever be soul-mates,
May our love eternally last,
May the food of love sustain us,
May we never have to fast.

May we use each

Time for champagne

Lift the champagne glass for a toast,
Make the night sparkle with delight.
Neither of us will sleep till dawn—
On our bed, love waits patiently.
Please, let’s not break the vow we made.

Give me the Rhythm

Our love isn't a mime, nor a rhyming song,
But one we sing that stings with grief and shame.
A robe we wear with sorrow all night long,
Our hearts no longer with passion's flame.

The ripened time prepares to draw us wide,
Our bond not stronger than a weathered stone.
We stumble, yet let silence be our guide—
Love suffers round

Abandon Not Your Vow

Abandon not your vow to do what is right
Built upon integrity along sincere practice 
Cling to your commitment with steadfastness
Directed toward service and reaching-out.
Exhorted for loyalty and fidelity’s tenacity
Fulfill your role well with honest heart
Guarded against hypocrisy’s destruction
Hoisted for readiness to help by God’s grace.*

But I can't help wishing I could calm his fear.
Whether he asks for comfort or not, I still care,

Marking a new beginning, in the warmth of cookies and Christmas.

Where we shared glances secretly, in a gleam.
Coffee brewed with the gentle grace,
In your eyes

A Doctor’s Vow

Through nights that steal both sleep and rest,
I give my all, and hope for best.
Each heartbeat tells a tale unknown,
A life I guide, yet not my own.

With science sharp and spirit high,
I soothe the soul, though some must die.
No gold or fame shall mark my name,
For duty, not for worldly claim.
