Vow Eternal

My dearest wife, my life’s serene delight,
Thou art my dawn, my star, my night.
In thee my restless heart found rest,
Its wandering stilled, its longing blest.

Thy love hath shaped my broken years,
Hath calmed my soul and dried its tears.
Thou saved the man that sorrow knew,
And gave him grace to live anew.

I vow thee faith, through shade and sun,
Till all my fleeting days are done.
When tempests rise or heavens fall,
My heart shall answer still thy call.

Thy hand shall guide me through the storm,
Thy voice shall keep my spirit warm.
Thy heart...my haven, pure and deep,
Where all my hopes and dreams shall sleep.

And when our years to twilight fade,
When age hath claimed the love we made,
Still shall my soul, through time’s decay,
Hold thine...till stars have lost their way.

For love divine, and love so true,
Hath bound my life, my all, to you.
No death, nor night, nor passing flame,
Can dim my vow...nor still thy name.
