The fate of morning is brewing
By the grace of their mighty brain
For their wisdom is a blessing
Even though they ache in pain
Sleepless nights are often calling
They can't refuse the call of dawn
The grace of their charm could be falling
But they must cause the seeds to spawn
Unsung heroes, they must be
They are as great as a starlight
They turn the wheels of destiny
So tomorrow can be bright
Like a flower, frail and tender
They must be poured with care and esteem
For if they're gone, the world will wander
Like a child caught in swirling stream

Ode to the Unsung Hero
I salute the devotee of his craft
who diligently pursued perfection
with no recognition
but remained true to himself
and trudged along but lost
to the dynamics of politics and the bottom line
He was not in his time and space
of Fame
I lift my glass to her , the Fool
who trusted them with her better idea
only to lose it anyway
but remained true to herself
she knew not how to play
the devious Game.
To the saints unselfish
who cared for humankind
but were overshadowed
by fanatics religious, emirs and kings
Heaven was not theirs
to Claim
The writer not read
and the artist well dead
the writers of music
and the musicians who longed
to play their songs
and share in their glory
but not to be.
So let us applaud them loudly
they remained true to themselves
let them bask in the sunshine
if for only a brief time
or at least until
the sun goes down.

Who am I to judge your instinctive desire,
To quench the passionate yearnings you require?
Freely, we placed our inhibition to the side,
Tangled up as one, why should you be crucified?
Such a glorious act, marred by double standard.
One’s perceived as a hero, the other is slandered.
I urge ye without sin, to please cast the first stone.
If that title befits you, you’ll find you’re alone.
Even if it’s a temporary illusion,
You give me a way to suspend my seclusion.
When all of life’s hardships bend my mind out of shape,
You are there to aid as my cathartic escape.
For the strength that you show, you’re a hero, unsung.
Subject to disapproval, you remain unstrung.
Your unmatched composure, can take a demanding toll.
Since you’re good to my body, I’ll take care of your soul.
Here he lies lifeless
He whose hands had many healed
though unsung by some
Now, we cheer him home
Down his homestead, we set him
Our selfless hero!
Pain is the pleasure
of earthly patriotism...
Fame is for a time
Though the rose blossoms
on fields where good does not stay,
it withers at dusk
Kindness lives briefer
Twilight comes after sunset
All is vanity!
A very loyal woman was Miep Jan Gies,
Brave, caring, and really very wise -
She was confident and daring - On her some lives depended
Now, following her story, so many minds have mended.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Considering the worsening situation for the Jews, the Franks decided to go into hiding in the secret annex of their office building. Miep gladly agreed to be a helper, bringing them food that she would gather from different grocers with ration cards.
She and her co-workers were able to keep the family hidden for over two years, but eventually they were betrayed. The annex was raided by the Nazis on August 4, 1944, and the occupants were sent to concentration camps. Miep found Anne Frank's diary and put it away for the family's return.
She was a great source of hope and motivation for the Franks; they couldn’t have lasted long without Miep’s help.
Unsung Hero Audrey
Audrey Hepburn, not just another pretty face
Eloquent little girl, fragile beauty, boundless grace
Danced upon the stage and world
A young star started out with humble voice and noble causes
Accomplished ballerina making money on her early path
And running messages deep within the Dutch Resistance
WWII was no simple feat for Audrey and her selfless acts
If caught in both activities it meant an instant death
By those in opposition to her quest
But she prevailed. All that has passed
And she remained with us as blessed
The Hepburn Children’s Fund for fighting hunger
And UNICEF continue with her aid, at her bequest
Though she is gone, no longer with us
Her causes continue on with energy and spirit
The world still sings her song
Our hero, we love you Audrey, unsung little one
We sing your praises
Rest in peace sweet princess

Dad you don’t have much time left in this world
Recently we sat and looked through yellowing photographs
Pictures I had never ever seen showing images from your past
Of places I have never visited, of faces I had never seen
One photograph in particular stunned me
It was a photograph of you in a military uniform
Standing with other men dressed the same
You were in the Lithuanian Resistance
Fighting for your freedom and that of your countrymen
Fighting against the Russians who invaded your homeland
Helping others to escape from these tyrants
Several years ago you were awarded a medal
This secret from your past was finally out in the open
Dad you are no longer an unsung hero; you are my hero
Written about my dad who passed away 20th February 2015

My Unsung Hero
O' so tiny, a son born at twenty-four ounces
now laughter rings, as on my knee he bounces
Fought, such a fighter for sweet life was he
precious fruit from our great Love Tree!
I held him as breast milk he was gravity fed
still we remember all those tears we shed
Ninety days in the hospital he stayed to heal
now watch him sing, laugh and loudly squeal!
Seven long years he has been healing now
a miracle granted when we pray and bow
Relief as more weight is all he now needs
thank God for his life , joy that it seeds!
Our son, a brave fighter that fought to make it!
A miracle gifted , a blessing , happily we take it!

Note: Based upon the premature birth of our son Justin at just 24 ounces
and his 3 months in hospital , coming home at only three and a half pounds.
Two operations later and 4 years on an urinary reflux antibiotic he has now
made it to seven years old!!!!
God heals and blesses..

The unsung Hero of the universe: Jesus: the song of my life
Unsung Hero
By: Sami LaRose
I do not lie, I do not deny that my Dad is the apple of my eye
The greatest man I have ever known to walk this earth, and do it alone
He'd beat down anyone for me just for giving me a harsh tone.
With his little grey hairs and sometimes funny mustache, tough is not something you'd first expect.
Tough to the bone, even tougher than nails, my dad is the greatest marine that's prevailed.
With a soft spot in his heart for his one and only daughter, over the years it began to make his Tummy grow larger.
Always "checking for poison in my food" he'd say. To little to comprehend he as taking my food away.
An old jolly man, but young at heart he always try's to help me find the light when I am in the dark.
Never meaning any wrong Intentionally , I'm sorry if it seems like I take advantage sometimes
He would fly to the moon and back to for me, he is more than just a dad, and he is not just family, he is my bestie.
I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me
I love you Daddy
Trite foot soldier status lacking
Pedigree earned by under stress not cracking
Anonymous ward of the state with little backing
Nameless face sent into the infernal abyss hacking
On unstated mission sent packing
In an unknown, unfamiliar field bivouacing
An amorphous, invisible foe tracking
Without reserve an unidentified conscript attacking
On an obscure plain flailing and whacking
Unseen rifles and cannons above the tumult clacking
Unnoticed, soldier falls during the shellacking
Body hurriedly pushed into unmarked grave after the sacking
Unacclaimed minion; no metals racking
Your memories step
Into the lustrous glass
Whispering
The final journey
Tears and laughter not lost
Though, leaving without goodbyes
For its being etched in the hearts
Of those, who care and love
Forever, your name
Will be remembered
Like a message…
A Reflection
Of bravery
Shown against
The blackness
Of storm, that brought
Countless bodies
Down to ashes of wails
The loved ones
Whom you left behind
Their lowly spirits
Will be strengthened, with your
Martyrdom
For them
You will live in eternity
For you’re the diamonds
Giving them all the time
Your brightness…
Even though
You’ve ascended
Unwillingly, to the height
Of limitless sky
Into the fire he races back in!
To search for the people trapped and pinned
Twenty minutes or so has passed
He had better get out the building won’t last.
A child’s scream shoots out in pain
He brings her out and goes again
Covered in ash from head to toe
He crashes back in for a final go
At the roof he emerges unscathed
Bearing a child in hand he just saved
The men below await with a blanket
For him to jump, but both won’t make it
He aims and releases the boy from his arms
A perfect throw causes no harm
On top of the roof he has no escape
Engulfed in flames he falls to his fate
A passer by was there by chance
To give these children a mortal stance
An unsung hero remembered by few
For hi was a lonely traveler no one knew.
