to walk in faith, not fear
I've come to understand
I must develop the daunting Spirit
like that of the Son of Man
to walk in faith, not fear
Is God's intent for me
He gave me love, power, a sound mind
not a spirit of timidity
I desire to walk with the fortitude
of the Holy Ghost
with an attitude of self-assurance
which I need the most
to walk in faith, not fear
Is God's intent for me
He gave me love, power, a sound mind
not a spirit of timidity
the Holy Spirit doesn't operate
In a state of depravity
It calls God's children to move, to groove
with spiritual bravery
Intrepid, level-headed
exercising a boldness of faith
not in fear, not scared
forging a god-driven gait
to walk in faith, not fear
Is God's intent for me
I now have love, power and a sound mind
Instilled in me
Now basking in God's perfect love
with a persistent faith unheard of
to walk in faith, not fear
Is God's sole intent for me
I now have love, power and a sound mind
which He instilled in me
to walk in faith not fear
Pantoum Part 1
A stranger calls me everyday,
Makes me nervous to get the phone.
She keeps on calling anyways
When I am---or I am not---at home.
Makes me nervous to get the phone.
At times, he or she's a robot.
Calling me when I'm all alone.
And I've told them they must not.
At times, he or she's a robot.
And I do not say a word.
But they want me to sign the dot.
Saying yes to contracts unheard of.
And I do not say a word.
To them when I haven't much to say.
Giving them money is absurd.
These strangers call me everyday.
Rhyme Part 2
Spamela is her name.
With me she plays a game.
Morning, noon, and night.
Any hour is alright.
Her voice is very sweet.
'Cause she's a goal to meet.
She needs to hear me say yes.
To verbal contracts and the rest.
She sells electricity.
And phone plans for liberty.
She will sell me gas.
With friendly sales math.
And seek to earn my cash!
Without her, my day would be lonely.
She's my one and only!
My love on the telephone line.
Spamela uses mobile data all the time!
I often wonder how far too far is.
while pushing the limits of my mind,
I've wasted away the things I miss,
I'm over what some say is real,
reality to me seems like a choice,
I've broken down and decided to heal,
now I haven't any poise,
Too far honestly isn't far enough,
pushing my mind even further,
what doesn't break me makes me tuff,
for the places inside unheard of,
Although I fear where I've been,
I've lots of things that I numb,
all of a sudden here I am,
staring at the damage I've done,
A lonely tear runs down my cheek,
it's the only one I had left,
speechless when I tried to speak,
and that silence I'll never forget,
My tired weary eyes
hold burdens yet unheard of
as life keeps going
Death is always with me, at my elbow
sporting a jaunty beret and a fake French accent;
at dinner, making judicious remarks on the wine;
playing cat’s-cradle with cobwebs on the bus;
baffling me at chess with unheard of gambits;
strumming his mournful guitar with a pick of thorn;
and snatching flies that vanish into his fist.
He's almost the only thing I'm going to miss.

It's gonna be cold tonight
They predict one degree
The polar vortex has a bite
Unheard of here in NYC.
Global warming is the crime
It allows the cold to break thru here
So we must push for offshore turbines
While we sip on frozen beer.
Its gonna be cold out there
They say polar bear numbers will wane
But those bears are unaware
They're making cubs like clouds make rain.
In Antarctica it's negative sixty one
Coldest its been for 44 years
But ice shelves are melting in the sun
and nothing is as it appears.
Florida's freeze made dead bananas
Carolina towns can't cope
The reasons we must hammer
Renewables are our only hope.
Life after life (with death in between)
Cannot compare to the Heavenly scene
As the singer sings of something personally
It can have the appeal to us all universally
In the skies it’s many Fourth of July’s
For us eye candy, and we wait for our surprise
There are galleries of all the memories hanging in sight
There are lands to discover by fourth dimensional flight
There are things unseen, unheard of and unread
As we will get to know God for eternity’s breadth
Many colors, many smells, many sights, who can tell
The love of a family reunion, and many more loves as well
There’s life after this life lived on earth
There is life after life and birth after birth
So it is easy and plain to see, and it shows
We all go on to eternity (where you spend it God only knows)
(So to the recusants that think this is it (ain’t no more)
Prove it non-resuscitants (if that’s all you have) I implore)
P.S. So have a second sundae to your delight
Because in Heaven there is no cellulite
Fiery amber eyes gaze out
From a face of white speckled fur
Into the icy blinding swirling snow
Of a high hidden Himalayan hamlet
To meet in mortal combat
The closed minds
of poaching Pakistani peasants
Carrying pitchforks
In a parody or normality
A battle to confirm
That not all ideas matter
That Nature’s laws triumph
That not everyone
Understands eternal complexity
Standing firm on its precipice
In a show of rare boldness
It gives a performance
Of unheard-of courage
In the face of the enemy
Spirit guardian of a higher world
It takes a stand
Against the madness that is man
"Animal revere and respect holiness; they do not teach sin."
St. Neilos the Asectic, in the Asectic Dialogues
what kind of conveyance can you use?
I had done nothing but confuse
Buck, Pontiac, Rambler or what?
words unheard of by my grandson Strut
Imagine there’s a chair
which, in all fairness,
is a humble enough affair,
the very soul of chairness.
Imagine someone sits
on its rafia foundation
and occupies his wits
in careful contemplation.
Suppose he picks a spot
(left leg, front, just under
the higher crossbar – what
a subject for our wonder!)
Now, here’s a teasing topic
for idle conversation:
what if a microscopic
unheard-of civilization
inhabits that position?
That pinprick could contain
a Tito, a Tesla, a Titian:
it overwhelms the brain!
But if you find that grieving,
here’s something much, much worse:
what if we’re not even
the Big Deal Universe?
In a stellar cellar somewhere,
There’s a mousetrap, hammock, keg,
and a chair within that cellar where
we’re a dot on one left leg.
I remember you
You who walked by my side
Through my giggles and sprints
The chaos of small feet
Yet you always stayed
I remember you
You who told me off when needed
A care my small mind didn't comprehend
Your heart did wonders within my own
I remember you
The white in a sea of shadows
Shadows that whispered little pains
All to show me the fool they thought me to be
I remember you
A child just like I was
But your presence, large
A guardian and a friend
Though time has made otherwise
Our journeys no longer in the same room
The echo of little heartbeats unheard of
It stayed with me, engraved,
Your sunlight, the jar of stars and the smile
Always and forever
Thank you

Stay with me
The Zephyr breathes with the lungs
unsullied by cigarette smoke
Siesta nap
a lazy Sunday on an afternoon
when flowers wilt, the sky is recklessly
nude in transparent whispers
of silky clouds.
Breathtakingly the silence
if it should
stop
I would fall into a chasm
of pale rainbows,
stillborn moons,
corroded stars
where words of love
are unheard of, a silent echo
Inhale and exhale, my lovely
Blow a gale
but don’t leave me alone in
city parks where aged men sit
tell us how old they are.
The map unrolls, a skin of dust
where landmarks shift like whispers lost to a gust.
I trace a fracture, jagged, unfamiliar...
place where my phantom feet wandered, chillier
than memory allows. A tongue they spoke is lost...
A melody unheard of, at dearly paid cost
within the crumbling walls of an infernal keep...
A cracked, blackened mirror shows a face
though the eyes hold echoes of a storm!
The history etched strangely warm
borrowed grief, a second skin I wear
conceals scars, wounds I cannot bear.
A raven calls from a bleached white tree
a language older than time, the bones of me.
Its shadow stretches, long n out of place
across a sun-blackened, desolate place.
In this dreamscape, my essence fled.
A testament of words better unsaid, unread!
Foreign soil clings, stubborn, dark embrace
reflecting back lost a vacant face.
In stillness, a faint whisper sighs
you search mirrored eyes
meaning n memories...
A land you left behind
names you can't recall or hide...
A journey destined to fall...further inward
strangest sights reside as I…
Dissolve upon the burning tide.
Thirty years ago, my life fell apart/
I became fallen and forgotten/
All my friends abandoned me/
For years, those tears poured/
All those tears formed an ocean/
For a crime I never committed/
For all I lost in life/
My religion is different/
I face religious hatred for years/
My faith is unwavering/
My heart is unwavering/
I face so much hate in my life/
I done nothing wrong to justify/
The ostrasim, treated like garbage/
People put on a mask to play games/
They play with my heart, my feelings/
They can't be themselves/
They have to judge, they have to hate/
What happened to my life/
Is unheard of/
But understand this.../
I know my worth and.../
I am a survivor/
I will not give up/
I will keep surviving/
Because, I am strong/
And I am a strong survivor/
(C) Michael Fulkerson 2025
Thou'll travel in the distance horizon,
And I shall hear thee no more.
Miles and miles stretch in between;
But I'll recall and hold thee tight,
Waiting for the tides ebbing by.
A cuckoo's melody whose ear is unheard of,
I'll wait for the season to pass.
A seedling of love will rumble low,
Our love shall ripple among the waves.
Cling on dearly beloved our love fathoms the dead!
The tides and the harsh waves,
Will be composed and calm and the breeze shall be our season
And I shall wed thee surpassing the damned cold weather.
