"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened"
 by Anatole France

Animals: all the various kinds
every shape or color I'd choose
I'd love them all, not one left behind
in my longed-for garden's earthy hues
And, for each one, a home with nice views.

In my garden, two squirrels you'd find
for each needs a friend that looks the same.
Cows, lookiing so sweet, you know they're kind
and, of course, only those that are tame
Thus, no lioness with tousled mane.

Rock Island hens, and the birds in flight
a chorus of songs from those that sing,
Bunnies, puppies, kittens, black or white.
To all creatures, this wish I would bring
a warm home, safe far from winter's sting.

what we term as betrayal
is merely offered response
of an unawakened heart

why should we worry

Premium MemberA Tragicomic Tale

equating dreams
as thought forms
by heart conjured
we pause the cause
of such movement
getting to the roots
body identification
also termed as ego

negating nothing
we examine desire
that so manifests
deluded cravings
again and again
needing fulfilment
in this life or the next
until thirst is quelled

surreptitious ego
offers specious logic
that we may accept
validity of illusions
of unawakened soul
and thereby stagnate
in our thought spirals
dreams within dreams

our soul is hypnotised
by illusions self-created
and so we live in trance
unaware of our true Self
resident in toroidal heart
being eternal living light
the very essence of God
albeit veiled from sight

Plato’s allegory of cave
defines our predicament
we acknowledge not light
nor align with sublime love
refusing to enter silence
preferring to be a captive
of our conditioned belief
a tragicomic tale indeed

Premium MemberA Pet Can Steal Your Heart

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” Anatole France, French Poet

A pet can steal your heart.
The dog that you brought home
who always wants to play
is one you come to know
you’ll never give away

A pet can steal your heart.
A precious kitty cat
at night curls up with you -
if ever she gets sick,
there’s nothing you won’t do.

A pet can steal your heart.
It doesn’t matter if
it’s very big or small
because when you are hooked,
you’ll give that pet your all.

A pet can steal your heart.
I know this truth because
when my dear pets passed on,
I sadly realized
bits of my heart were gone.

Premium MemberAwakening

Awakening..

Could it be this simple..?

Allowing life as it is

Not to worry about the "I" as unawakened

Allow that unawakened I to do as it pleases

Perhaps walking down a path seeking to

Find what seems to be missing..

All of these appearances..appearing in

What is marvelously happening...

Butterfly

Butterfly

In the silence of regret, we lose our faith
In the noise of anger, we lose ourselves.

Find me a place where faith is healed
A place of refuge where I may grow like the wings of a butterfly,
Where my metamorphosis will empower my flagging will.

Let me feel the beat of your angelic wings against the cheek of my heart,
So that I may know what it feels to be loved.

Fear not my unawakened soul,
In you it will find its complement
Then only will I be complete...

Premium MemberCeasing Seeking

There is a veil shielding the divine light
We know something is there but cannot see
Unawakened is as yet inner sight
The blockage self imposed by our folly

Shift material to ethereal
Requires tuning into domain subtle
Thus if ego cravings still hold appeal
Divine connect koan far from simple

Upon choosing mind body emptiness
We create within joyful magnetism
Imbibing bliss in delightful fullness
Radiating from our mind body prism

To discover new lands let go of shore
Let us entwine with love keeping no score

Premium MemberAlways Is

penchants for doing things the right way
unhinge the knighted sky shot full with holes
twinkle twinkle little star, you burn so very
bright, where have you all gone? home you say,
dancing the edges of madness’ thin veils
containment slotted through the IS’s of
consecutive sequenced selfs, unawakened
self-righteous indignation, plagiarize the
potential for adulterated emotions
conspicuous lapse of good judgment
right the scales of too much this or that,
the arms of balance form both positive
and always behind the seen, negative imagery
this land whirls the positive insisting it’s
our only reality of expression, negative quivers
with pretence experienced as a landscape
of oblivion ensued from forgetfulness...always is
a this and a that, a hat and a cat, a louse and a mouse.
Always is...

The Shame of Our Sentient State

The pride that comes from ego

And the prejudice from ignorance

Sees humanity in a hole

Created by its own arrogance

It will not work in consciousness

To evolve and to transcend

It simply wants to fight itself

In a selfish battle of greed and hate

Reflections of its flawed state

Transposed and manifesting in toxic waves

Negating positive frequencies

Through their unawakened brain

The illusory drains

Their ability to retain

Any sense of love, peace and compassion

Which is why this earth they are trashing

Like mindless zombies

Feeding off the flesh of this earth

And inflicting so much self hurt

And I find quite embarrassing

That a sentient race keeps clashing

With its own ignorant flaws

That ends up in so many wars

And refusing to march toward

A paradigm shift that may just save us all.

In Dreams

A dream is a dream.. But not just a dream..
A portal into an unknown reality it is..
No limitations are required..
Manifestations with thoughts occur..

A dream state enters into the unknown..
Is our true being..
Awareness when in dream state it is..
No awareness in dream state it is..

Awakened we dream.. Unawakened we dream..
What differs??

Illusion of space and time..
Our perception..

I Am What You Need

I AM WHAT YOU NEED

I watched you sleep this anxious morning

And felt the distress that torments
Mortal souls unawakened.

We all can be free within the womb of dreams.
However needed, I will be here for you;
Ask for a wall
To protect you and I will build

You a house
Of love and trust.
Understand me,

Needs can be fulfilled;
Every arm-filled joy,
Every tender, gentle touch
Defines the sanctuary here.

Motion of a Fall

Leaves no longer held-aloft by their deciduous vaults
Clutter gutters and breezily sweep streets and rest
On right and left road sides, bright and red.
Tunnels formed by old trees meeting arc
Across city-streets and campus-sidewalks.

The bright red light shreds right
Through the quasi-dismal damp
Fog and is mirrored in the ditch’s bog.
The yellow is less aggressive,
More slow to say “hello,
Nomad, pause your show of bursts
Of fabricated steel and what is unreal.”
Trees colored green recollect when
They were tenderfoot, preempting
The Fall of unawakened Autumn,
But tend towards following their peers.

Leaves stand in the back of a room,
Stand in the forefront of the meteorological gloom
And trickle their color onto the gray
Sidewalk once bland and wet as the sky,
Now leaf-littered and shimmering with glances of upright reality;
Colors whet on the watery walkway
By flattened leaves and reflections of trees.

Time To Reinvent Time

TIME TO REINVENT TIME

Yesterday is the day from which you came
Tomorrow is the destination you will never gain
Seeking tomorrow thinking it is near
But at 12:01 AM is tomorrow really here
Time shows you just came from yesterday
And stepped into times grasp of what is now today
Once again you find tomorrow is not here
Just wait 24 hours - time whispers in your ear
And then tomorrow will appear
Time of course is playing its eternal joke
For again at time appointed - tomorrow is up in smoke
Time it should be known is an unawakened dream
With no more substance than ripples in a stream
Never ask time about future intentions
Future is another of time's jokester inventions

Miami Beach

The ocean licks the shore
Like a puppy
Near high, pompous buildings
While in the far distance
Hurricanes are wrecking the coast
There are yet unawakened hurricanes
Why do people give them pretty human names?

Days here are full of sun
Glasses full of drinks
In the numerous bars
Where people forget their troubles
Which they’ve brought along with them
They are facts of life

My footprints are immediately wiped out in the wet sand
And the tail of this verse
Snatches with its beak a seagull
That screams far away
Distracted by its prey
