Storms

There are times when I am just tired of the endless rain.
Walking in the middle of this desert, once again.
No one knows the chaos of the battle I am fighting for my seed.
Faith is a choice, its something you must feed.
The darkness I feel at times, is part of the process I am facing to

LEAVE ME NOT IN THE LURCH

Life, as I’ve come to know it
Is trial wrapped in unexpected moments
A dance of hope, missteps, and loss
Like betting all blindly in business.

Each soul must face its reckoning
Some see the signs, prepare in time
Others, like smoke behind a jet
Only glimpse what’s left behind.

I was one of the second kind
By the time I looked, it was

Valleys and Peaks

We've traveled many roads, some steep and long, 
kept steadfast on our walk, forever so strong. 

Through our ups and downs, we traveled this road, 
for all those times we carried life’s heavy load. 

Valleys and peaks may have always been there, 
with courage we walked, not always with despair. 

Below those peaks, shines a

Injustice

Locked up in a cage.
But the beasts are allowed to roam.

The lights are dimming and the darkness grows thick.
It is like a mirror on the wall.
Reflecting everything in which you desire but can never have.

Those who takes gets.
And those who gives loses.

The scales have broken.
And you sit alone.
Crying on your throne.

Another Curtain Call

Staring at the mirror’s image,
I see what others see;
but can they see the need for love
so deep inside of me?

I hear my laughter just as loudly
as those who see my smile;
but can they hear the tinge of sadness
that lingers for awhile?

My posture mocks a stately stance,
my gait is smooth and free;
but can they see the

Rats and Roses

I don’t have my learners permit.
I have had to be the adult my whole life.
I have had to tend to their outbursts and tantrums.
I have survived all their rat runs

I’ve always told myself it’s an assessment
A test of my determination
I will soon regain my adolescence
They’re just giving me a foundation,

Puritan Thinking

You cast your gaze, sharp and cold/
A relic of Salem, a story retold/
Convictions weigh heavy, though truth stands clear/
Yet you brand me alarming, fueled by fear/

Your judgement looms, a shadowed stake/
Bound by laws, yet the fire you'd make/
If time unshackled your hands today/
Would I see the embers of history's fray/

Puritan echoes, they linger still/

The Trials of a Knight - Apr 2

I’m called to meet a challenge, everyday:
my manner meek, my slow approach quite tame,
I timidly attack the threshold frame
that guards the gate and keeps the weak at bay.

My mind my sword, my enemy the fray
of a whirlwind day, vortex of shame,
I trepidate—I prove myself thus lame,
for conquest is beyond my make of clay.

Trials of the Sea

A scenic blue are ocean’s crested waves
with tufts of white that spill in feathered sprays
amidst the troughs and valleys of the sea.
Will time or tempest bring God back to me?
 
Horizons hold no hint of land or line
to separate the sea from the divine;
just miles of ragged waves that sway and dip
like drunken wains with

Facing it

There once was a time when i did worry
I spin through the storm of life's winds and flurrys
Though i came through it all
Though i did not fall
And ready to face another with all haste and hurry

Thundering across the sky, storm clouds joust to oust the sun.

In the middle of the City stands a tall gum tree
With a trunk so bright reaching out to Yeah

Jacaranda nearby looking up at me
Yet I stand tall and proud for the world to see

Sun sets on my trunk at the end of the day
Trials Tribulations, I have a lot to say

Cosmic Trials

The Universe presents its toughest tests
To its strongest warriors, who stand the best
Not for the faint of heart, but for those who can face
The fiercest battles, with a steadfast grace

For it knows their strength, their courage true
Their ability to rise, after falling anew
It pushes their limits, their will, their soul's might
To refine their spirit, and
