Premium Member On a Sad Day, On a Bad Day

On a sad day, on a bad day, sun was bright
I went out for a walk, round the block
Everything looked the same in the light
Not a single orange vest, no road work
Passed the houses and church down the street
Then I took a left turn to embankment
Passed the linden alley smelling so sweet
Up the hill to my home then I went
Was I feeling too bad, or too sad
On a sad day, on a bad day
No I felt pretty distant from that
To be honest with you, miles away.

I got a feeling

I got a feeling
That I need
To stay in touch
With my God
By praying a few hours
Every night
Yes I have lots of time for that
To be honest with you
My God
Then when my prayer is over
I will go straight to bed
You don't have to worry about
That

Guilty Pleasure

It’s that one cigarette, I allow myself
after the wife leaves for work.

The sixteen-ounce coffee I walk to
the corner Bodega for every day,
I’m not supposed to drink, okay.
Maybe throw a donut in there
or buttered 'Everything Bagel' once
in a while.

It’s the skin flick I might watch
in the middle of the day on pay-for-view.
The three seven & seven I have at
Jerry’s Bar & Grill when I meet up with
the old gang from work on the third Tuesday
of the month, rain or shine, when.
One's, what I agree, I’d nurse all night.

My guilty pleasures, it’s all the above, plus.
To be honest with you.
Probably a good bit more.

Doubtful

I'm so doubtful right now
So the fort has to stay up
I do see your heart though
It does radiate love
Or so it seems at times
I hear your point very well
You mean every word you say
as far as I can tell anyway
It's just that stench
that I can't abide
This reeks of deceit
I'm doubtful of your intent
It's also bitter to taste
rather hard to swallow
feels a little bit
contrived too, I'm afraid
All these red flags
glaring at me
Got alarm bells
blaring in my head
I'd be an utter tool to
ignore them
My mind wants none of it
if I were to be honest with you
And my heart sends you love
though from a safe distance
I do appreciate
the effort you made
But I doubt any good
will come out of this

Pieces of Myself

Perfect falls
Oh When perfect mirrors fall it breaks
And become broken glass
I hurt myself with pieces of myself
But I guess the pain appeals
Because I stand and watch how much I can bleed
It's my masochistic side that allows me to breathe
At least I can feel
At least I still feel
I open my hand
But anything not meant to be
Runs passed my fingers like quick sand
Reason for many disappointment I have had
I am used to hour-glass moments that never last
But I always end up crying for fleeting moments of happiness
That though gone I still miss
And I promise you the loneliest place is inside my head
All the memories are framed like pictures on the walls
Do you want to take a look with me?
I reminisce, no wonder I can't forget
Being with myself can be good and bad
But it's the only home I know
These broken pieces of myself
They are not perfect
But it's the mirror I look through
My reflection, I want to be honest with you
I'm tired trying to fix the pieces of myself
Trying to make it fit perfectly
Lately apart they make more sense
I want to be peacefully incomplete
Because these pieces of myself
They still make the whole of me

To Be Honest With You

Teachers know some liars will sputter
And judges know liars will mutter
But truth be told
Some are quite bold
Donald Trump will lie in the gutter!

Taxing

Donald Trump rejected Gal-Up poll
Reporting it "was pure hyperbole
"To be honest with you
There is naught I can do
My tax returns fell down that Black Hole!

So I'M Her Now Huh

We barely talk anymore guess the honeymoons over, this would be the time I relapsed if I was sober, but I'm not upset with you I'm upset with me, I was the one that fell in love with you knowing you had a family, it was the conversations that held both of our interest, but that's fading away as I aforementioned, now I know how the girls I laughed at feel wishing for more, knowing good & damn well we'll probably never live behind the same door, I really wanna do right by you & be better than your girl, I ask myself everyday could we be happy & I think that we could have the world, but I don't think I'm good at playing second fiddle, to be honest with you I'm used to being the lead singer not one of the girls in the middle, my mind wants a answer but my heart  wouldn't dare ask you to make a choice or a decision, when you hold me in your arms is one of the two times I feel like I'm living, when the world tries to break you up I'll be there to hold you down, when your shoulders  get heavy I'll be around we have Bluetooth you don't have to make a sound,  damn guess I'll do my slide & shimmy back to the middle, I don't know if this was a poem, conundrum or a riddle

Premium Member A Need To Share

Since a child I have had a need to share, to
write conversations to an invisible audience; and
I can get quite wordy and chatty and rambling, I
have no problem sharing private thoughts. At times
my writing is flowery, pretty and picturesque, Oh
I can turn out a whimsical and joyful poem; and
sometimes my style is clear and ever so confident,
even informative, or just plain silly and foolish fun.

But, to be honest with you dear reader my strength,
is in mournful, lamenting and woeful sad writes;
writing of my fears, grief and heartbreak is healing,
it helps me, I hope others see they are not alone.
Oh, I can also turn out a sultry passionate poem,
full of lust and love, or just of gentle sweet feelings;
and I like to write of the past and my family lost, no
telling what I will write- my pen has all the power.

Premium Member To Be Honest:

To be honest with you all
I am but a hack, a fraud
I contain no heart nor soul
And my mind a blunted sword.

Having moments to reflect
I now know this to be true
Searching deep within myself
For what else can a man do?

I gaze into the unknown
Into chaos and darkness
My head spinning in pain
How much left is to confess?

With paper and pen, I write
All my thoughts down as I go
This well now empty and dry
What is left for you to know?

(7 syllables per line)

I'M Done

Never lie
never hide things
always tell the truth in every word you speak
this is what you say to me
this is what you made me promise
from the minute I began to figure life out
you spoke these words to me
But you don’t
you don’t never lie
you do hide things from me and everyone else
you don’t always tell the truth
you are such a hypocrite
you see
you tell me to be honest with you and tell you everything
but you won’t do the same with me
and I’m not gonna deal with this bull **** anymore
I’m am done

The Love of My Life

The Love of My life

When I met you, I never expected
  to fall in love...
But since then, every day I thank my lucky stars above.

When I met you, I truly had no idea
How much my life was about to be changed...
But to be honest with you, how could I have known?

A love like ours happens only once in a lifetime
And babe, you were truly a miracle to me,
The one who was everything I had ever, ever
                   dreamed of,
The one that I thought existed only in my dreams.

And when you came into my life,
I suddenly realized that what I had always thought
Was happiness could not compare to the
                    true joy
Loving you brought me.

Baby, you are a part of everything
I think and do and feel,
And with you by my side,
I truly believe that anything is possible.

The Sun In My Face

I awoke this morning to the sun in my face ,
Quickly I sat up for I knew it was late .
My sleep has been so good since we came together,
The rest I get the peace I feel will be with me forever.
Can't remember when I have felt so good ,
Finding you has changed my life , I knew it would .
This is not something I would ever take for granted ,
Because I know the seeds of love have been planted .
It will grow and blossum into something so grand ,
Always glowing brightly no matter where I stand .
Not a worry or care do I feel on this day ,
Only joy and happiness will come our way.
I can say this from the bottom of my heart ,
Never will I feel alone when it's cold and dark .
To be awakened by the sun in my face ,
To be honest with you , it matters not if I am late .

For those of you who are not Italian, it’s pronounced “gitta-GEEN”
It is consumed by Genovese, Sicilians, and Florentine.
You can find it in just about any Italian deli.
This spicy lunch meat was invented in Italy.
In Philadelphia, many use it to make a hoagie.
It can be found in Italian subs in LA.
It is used in Italian heroes in New York any day.
From what part of the pig is it made, do you suppose?
To be honest with you, it comes from the pig’s nose.

In Our Adversity God Is There

In Our Adversity...
  HE Is There!

There are circumstances in life...
I wish I could trade!
I can think of both good and bad
 decisions I have made.

This is a most unfortunate situation
I find myself in.
Is causing a lot of grief and
 pain deep withini...

The guilt I feel I can't
"begin to explain."
To be honest with you...
It's brought me shame.

Where Lord... did I get
"so many things wrong?"
There's many things in my
life that don't belong!

I ask you Jesus to take total
 and complete control...
I don't know who else to turn to...
 or where else to go.

Please come & pick up the broken
pieces that surround me.
So much of my life was lost,
but now you've found me!

In your goodness and love...
 my life is now content.
From my wrong and sin...
 I now humbly repent!

I thank you Jesus for
turning my life around.
YOU are the very best friend
 I have ever found!
