pour enough shoe polish into a river ~ stepping stones may appear

Billowy storm clouds turn to skies of azure blue
Agonizing pain fades when its days are through
The trek of life has its many ups and downs
Its seasons of smiles, its times of frowns
We hope more joy and gladness are recorded
Than all the heartache and sadness that’s reported
Yet troubles and trials are given that we might know
That adversities strengthen; crises help us grow
If all the joys were placed in a basket of cane
And all the pains put in another of the same
Then both are put on a balance scale at life’s end
Would they equalize or which one would ascend
Perhaps, it is just a matter of how one views life
Joys are difficult to evaluate amid strife
And pain often accompanies times of celebration
These tensions are oft together whatever the occasion
Daresay, it is not whether these tensions exist or not
Inner feelings of ecstasy or agony play their part
It’s how we handle and ascertain life’s various scripts
Life’s many ups and downs, its differential treatments

More than cope
Strict regulations
No bargains
Stiff timetables
Exhausted
No laughters
Only tears
Adults' dreams
Young guys' nightmares
Adults' fame

Tensions on the heart
Stresses launched

Why roam around with tension in head,
Why not live in the moment instead.
Why entertain negative premonition,
When thoughts are based on supposition.
Tensions take away our present,
in misery moments are spent.
Tension filled moments are hard to forget,
life long sadness at very thought they beget.
So many thoughts mind does brew,
most of it doesn't come true.
We end up looking like a fool,
for all the thoughts we did pool.
When mind is filled with tension,
their is no room for concentration.
Brain's working does cease,
we fall prey to many disease.
If we live in present we are ever thoughtless,
life becomes joyous and effortless.
Blitheness, faith and positive disposition,
go a long way in ending all tension.

Let everyone love his neighbor as he loves himself
And folks once more turn to God, to each other for help
Then tensions will ease, with a reduction in stress
Yet when that will be ~ I wouldn't dare guess

You might believe competitive evolution
also shows potential for cooperative co-creation
because it takes at least two reiterative trends to tangle
and tango.
And your contentment could include polypathic tensions
and intentions
and extensions
seeking further refinement
and smoother flowing
undulating
co-resonant resolutions.
Perhaps all you have implied is a reverse of focus,
from competition as LeftBrain dominant
to invite cooperation as RightBrain co-dominant.
And
you might argue
and I might agree
to adjust our zero-sum core center
is to change almost nothing significant at all
and yet also profoundly reverse everything
within cultures of regenerate-degenerate health
recovering from pathology.

Surface Tensions
© Ben Burton 6-11-2015
Surrounding yourself with court jesters
Will not elevate your IQ
Engaging no one but supporters
Does little to broaden your view
Stay leery the lib'ral dimension
Which seeps like an incessant tide
Unconquered, though captured red-handed
Insouciance their constant disguise
As sycophants silhouette secrets
From verity's solar-hot gaze
The moral facades of the wicked
Have stingers submerged in bouquets
Your hearth begs a vigilant watchman
To foil any plot to invade
But sentries are naught without power
Of armaments meant to dissuade
A surface of elegant beauty
May yield but a squid, quid pro quo
So hitch not your raft to a bauble
But anchor it deep in the soul

Behold! unto me it will ever so cling,
Often wonder why it lingers on with me,
Untold, it is to make the church bell ring,
Akin to a dark shadow it owns the locked key.
Reflect I practiced every morn for sure,
Pondered much I for every need,
Pure Thought, me knew was the only cure,
For now all that is put forward is pure deed.
Content am I with my present self,
Away has travelled the devlish reign,
Calm is my mind content in itself,
Dark thoughts they say I must abstain.
Every morn ,now it awaits for me,
To a cool breeze and a warm smile,
And when I look out so green is the tree,
My life I feel has just begun to be worthwhile.

Chained between church&cloister she chose to be
A picture of the Christian walk,for all to see;
A mystic life was her remit
Visions of Divine love, was her writ-
In the world..but not of it !

A life engulfed in tensions,
Someone kicking at the iinfra of our mansions,
Such a juncture is horrible indeed,
To suffer and pass out is'nt a feasible deed!
Someone hammering at your sensitive senses,
Progression of confidence losing its hopeful
chances,
Piercing needles at unexpected places,
Are very common the melancholy faces!
Tears, Tears, Tears, tear off the yearned nears,
Here, Here, Here, are reared the worst fears,
Fate, Fate, Fate, why did you turn so brutal?
Life, Life, Life, show some soothing miracle!
Every night has a sparkling morning,
Each celebration has its succeeding mourning,
Diamonds after urchin are here we yearning,
Hats off to ones succeeding after an internal
burning!
