On The Strip

I have bought in boutiques
on Carnaby street,
stopped in stores galore
on the Champs-Élysées,
shopped 'til I dropped
on Madison Avenue,
and, what's more,
I've been seen to arrive,
fashionably late, on Rodeo Drive,
but one thing I hate,
and doubt I'll see, or there'll ever be,
as there's not much call,
for a linear row of shops downtown,
in a small Möbius strip mall.

Tho' Johann B. Listing (1808 – 1882),
rediscovered the non-orientable surface first,
Mr. August F.Möbius (1790 – 1868)
published his findings earlier and, well-versed,
 Euclidean geometry taught he,
while, his wife, Dorothea, danced provocatively,
in pole position, at a nightclub naughty,
and, where out at night, on a fun daytrip,
paying punters paid to ogle and see,
the ever-rousing Mrs. Möbius strip.

I’m like a chameleon
I don’t mean to be
Happy when with you
but also happy with just me

My colors change to match
The seasons and the breeze
I’m down for whatever
Happy go lucky at peace

I’m easygoing until you know
I’m needed to be hard and cold
You may or may not be bold
Enough to see my inner child grow

I’ll play the game until the end
Bounce with joy no matter who wins
For I know we will continue to blend
Making new rules new game new sin

I admit I’m a naughty neon girl
Born again but stuck in the world
It’s more what I do in my mind
Not what you see if you are kind

If I really was a truly free soul
I’d pawn my body and heart of gold
And become a body-less being
A Cupid of sorts with love so freeing

But here I am a chameleon soul
In my nightclub life dancing on a pole
Happy to glide in the music solo
In my eyes is a haunting you know

Premium MemberMobius Strip

All yesterdays I lived through
Gone for the mean today
Where nothing I can do
To make it slip away
There’s no room for tomorrow
Cause each and every day
I have a chance to borrow
Is got to be today
It starts with morning you can take
For evening, so blind grey
It is, and night for goodness sake
Continues the same way
A calendar don’t mean a thing
Today is wide and deep
No changes my today can bring
It’s like a Mobius strip
Goes round again, and there you are
Exactly where you’ve been
The day before, as calendar
Tells numbers you have seen
The exit door that leads away
I see in morning dreams
I’m sick to death of this old day
With all the sense it means
I see the same headlines again
In multiplied galore
Same lies and rants of the insane
I've read long time before
Or was it just the other day
I saw last year's news
Whatever happens is today
Regardless what you'd choose
A crowd actor in the play
Whose author is unknown
I live this life within today
That never can be gone.

Premium MemberA Mobius Strip

(“Mind’s Eye Merit Badge” #67, 2020, original oil)

A Möbius Strip

Mind and nature of mind
So close and yet so different
Not like night and day different
But earth and sky
Not two sides of the same thing
But opposites
One an is, the other an isn’t
One an illusion, the other real
This is how truth and falsehood exist
Like an object and its shadow
But the twist of course
Is that it’s the opposite of what we think
(what we think after all being a product of mind,
and mind, ultimately, just a mental construct)

One isn’t, the other is
But it only is, the lack of the other…

There once was a young lady
I tell you she was somewhat shady
She played some strip poker
With brother's friends mediocre
In walked her mother quite shaky

Premium MemberDeath to all the Angels

Death to all the angels,
	Death in the crying sky.
The eyes of hungry babies probe us.
They plead with us in abject terror.
In ghettoized Gaza,
No mother and child will sleep,
Bombed as they weep,
They are the fish in a barrel.
This is collective punishment
	Of all the guilty infants.
All the guilty Palestinians will be cleansed,
They will be purged in reprisal.
The racism of the entitled
	Hides behind their religious texts,
Their sanctimonious gaslighting of war.
Death to all the angels,
	Death in the crying sky.

Premium MemberComic Strip Gals

Trick-or-treating comic strip gals walked down the street.
The rest of us got out of the way of this wholesome treat.
They were sensuous for sure, these comic strip gals.
All the way we could hear comic strip boys yelling their wows.

Premium MemberAway At a Strip Club

Away at a strip club
No clothes are on me
I misread the club rules
Now I feel silly

I’d removed my jacket
White shirt and black pants
Then off came my boxers
I wanted to dance

Two big burly bouncers
Dragged me off the floor
Though I’m still butt naked
They show me the door

I flag down a taxi
Although I’ve no cash
I’m dropped at my girlfriend’s
To her door I dash

She pays the cab driver
And gives him a tip
One look at her stern face
I’m on a guilt trip

She throws me a bath robe
And I put it on
Then I realise that
My work clothes are gone

Although it’s past midnight
She drives me straight back
And gets my belongings
Then gives me some flack

I say that I’m sorry
Won’t do it again
And if I go clubbing
From drink I’ll abstain!

Premium MemberAway In a Strip Mall

Away in a strip mall,
no strip did I see.
That strips might be sold there
means nothing to me.

And then I thought strip tease!
I walked all around
but no naked ladies
were there to be found.

No cute guys there either
in nothing but thongs
who hinted that maybe
they’d show us their dongs!

There’s Vegas strips, so why
not say a mall STRIP?
I went to see strippers
but wasted my trip.

My wife decided to go to a strip club with me,
to prove to me that she is fun and carefree,
and I must say in all honesty,
it was like bringing the principal along on the day you play hooky.

SAILING

            life is a sea
            immense... and since
            comes in stormy waves,
            browse if necessary...!

              (FIFTH)

            as fallen dry leaf
by the wind was swept away,
that's how I took my life...
all love and all the time,
            with all me inside...!

                STRIP
                DREAMS

              Dreams
              smooth
              cruel reality...
              Dreams;
              exhaust valves... !
